It wasn’t the actual flight on the plane that is stressful to me but the whole experience going to the airport (knowing where to go, what I can/can’t have on me, etc.) lol
yes! Once I’m in the seat I’m good. but figuring out where to go in the airport, security, finding gate, boarding the plane (getting my suitcase in the overhead compartment lol) stresses me out
Thank you so much Ben!! I'm 17 and I'm terrified to be flying by myself next week, but your video has really helped me get over that fear. Hoping my flight goes well, keep up the great instructional videos!
You are very welcome Ethali! So happy to hear the video helped calm your fears. I hope you have a smooth and positive experience when you fly next week. Safe travels to you! You got this!
I’m flying sometime soon myself and I’m 17 as well, hope your flight goes well man!
Hey!! Im flying by my self im 14 years old ive been flying by my self since i was around 8 i still have jitters !!! It actually isnt as bad when your flying
@@tophat5128 Thank you so much, it actually went really well!! Ended up talking to the people beside me on my flights and made 2 new friends, as well as actually loving being on a plane. I really appreciate your encouragement, and I hope your flight goes well too!
@@kammytherapper3814 Great, I'm really happy to hear that!
About REAL ID. For those of you who had a heart attack like me because I had no idea about this, they pushed the deadline for needing to have REAL ID license back to may 7 2025. So you can still use a normal license to fly domestic in US until 2025
I felt like my heart literally dropped in my stomach when he said that😂 my flight is tomorrow and I instantly got scared! lol
Yeah I heard about that too. I was like, wait the deadline already passed?? 😳
What I learned after flying to the airport alone for the first time twice this past week, it's ask if you need help. Follow the signs. Get there early enough so if you're in the totally wrong side of the airport, you still have time to change course.
Thank you!
@seany thanks! Good advice
Yeah, but what to do with the shame??? Im 18 and I never fly..
@@rvp1I’m 24 and haven’t! Don’t be ashamed :)
@@leahmaysimmonds I'm more ashamed that I have no idea what to do at the airport...
My son is 16 and flying alone to Thailand (from Canada). This is very helpful for him and helps put my anxiety at ease!
So happy to hear that! Since your son is under 18 you should be able to get a pass from the airline that will allow you to go through security with him and escort him all the way to the gate. I hope your son has smooth and safe travel to Thailand.
@@BenDreamVacations Thank you I will definitely look into this. Once he gets to Tokyo hes on his own for that airport but guiding him through YVR will help him get his bearings.
I’m flying by myself for the first time in less than 2 weeks. I’m very scared and have anxiety about missing my flight. This eased up a little bit for me, I’ll make sure rewatch this video on the way to airport too 😂
It's definitely going to be busy at the airport due to the holiday season so make sure you get to the airport early. Wishing you safe travels and that everything goes smoothly for you. Glad to hear that the video helped with some of your anxiety. Let me know if I can help answer any questions you have.
How your flight go? Hopefully you were overprepared and flying solo was a breeze. Just know that every air port is different, specially in airports where English is not widely spoken.
1.) find the airline you’re flying with at the Departures and Ticketing area. (2 options: Use a kiosk to check your bags, print your boarding passes, and check in for your flight if you need to OR walk up to the counter to talk to one of the agents. Here print bag tags )
2. See what terminal and gate you need to go to
3. Go through security (When you’re in line make sure you have your boarding pass and passport with you)
-Put your shoes, phone, jacket
-After scanned, head to the gate
4. Look at boarding pass to see what your boarding group & assigned seat number are, then listen for the gate agent to call your group boarding number
Thank u
Does TSA make you remove your mask for the screening? I'm NoVid, havent flown since 2018, I don't want to get infected. If they do, I'm going to try to get out of flying next month.
Bee...
I screenshot and saved your instructions! Thank you! It sounds easier than I'm making it up in my head.
@@TheBroccoliFilesidk if it’s too late or not, but you most definitely have to remove your mask and hats and or glasses too right before entering the TSA scanning section. That’s because the TSA agent needs to check your ID and boarding pass. After that, you can put your mask back up. (last time I flew out of a US airport was in Dec 2022). So mask requirements are unfortunately no longer required, but when handing the TSA agent your ID & boarding pass, he must be able to see your face.
@@TheBroccoliFiles It's 2024, man. Stop being paranoic!
Thanks so much. I'm flying by myself for the first time in a couple weeks and this lowered my anxiety tremendously.

That is so great to hear! Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful job of explaining the entire flying process in great detail with visuals from entering airport to claiming your luggage & departing. Best video I have viewed. Thank you for being so incredibly clear! I haven't been on a flight since I was still in elementary so I was getting alot of anxiety having to travel through flight for the first time in over 10 years. Especially now that I will be on my own. I REALLY REALLY needed a thorough video of the process and you did just that, thank you!

So how did it go? I have a flight next month, I’m going out of country by myself just wanted know your experience 😅
@@jeffreyvasquez6042 Oh my, if you are watching these videos just know you are very much capable and the anxiety is very normal. It went quite well for me. most important thing is to breathe and remember what is supposed to be done. Also, ask the air hostess or the people(in uniform;idk their appropriate names) at the gate for confirmation of the flight and gate, they really don't mind helping. I wish you safe travels, good luck 💃❤

Thanks Cameryn! Enjoy your first flight!

i''m flying alone for the first time ever in a few days. i've flown before but never had to figure it all out on my own so this helped a lot! still worried about getting lost trying to find my terminal but hopefully it won't be too stressful for me
So glad you found the video helpful! If you get to the airport and are unsure about where to go just ask one of the airline service agents at the check-in area and they will be happy to point you in the right direction. There is also airport maps that you find on the airport website, so once you check in and get your gate number you can look on the map to see where you need to go. Have a great trip and I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Excellent Video - I was needing a tutorial from Entering to Exiting, whole flight "experience." I haven't flown since 1987 and SO much has changed. Thanks for the way you put this video together.
Thank you! So glad you found the video helpful and yes, a lot has changed since 1987.
