    Very nice video, love your humor. One tip I have is before you go to the airport is go to the airport webpage and look at their maps. Very useful to see where your gate is and how to get there, also what shops or dining places there are. This way when you arrive you have a good idea of the route you need to take. Another tip is when you arrive at the airport make sure you are in the right terminal and enter where your airline counters are at. There will be signs outside showing what airlines are near that entrance. This is also very useful when you have layovers. Also I like to check-in for my flight with the curbside porters as this can save you a lot of time. Just make sure to give the porter a tip, I usually tip about $5 a person, but should tip about $1 to $2 a bag. Saves you the hassle of bringing your check-in bag inside the terminal and standing in a long check-in line at the ticket counters.

    I love your videos Erica! Funny and informative - a winning combination! One more important travel tip: Before you pack any bag for any flight, first start by COMPLETELY EMPTYING IT. You never know what kind of prohibited item you might otherwise accidentally bring with you. I learned this the hard way one time flying home from Hawaii. The day before, I had brought an apple in my backpack to the beach, and I borrowed a steak knife from the place we were staying so I could peel and cut it. The next day going through security, they pull me aside and to my horror they pull this knife out of my backpack!! I though for sure they were going to throw the book at me, but I guess they could tell from my reaction that it was an honest mistake, so they let me go with a stern warning, and of course they confiscated the knife. Phew!

    This was such a great, comprehensive prep list! Another tip I would add would be to have a lightweight packable backpack in your personal item bag. So often now, we get the rude surprise of having to gate-check our carry on bags. Having the packable backpack makes it possible to pull out all those things necessary for the flight, including a change of clothes. I love your channel!

      I had it once in spain for some reason but boarded just fine back and forth

    • @hibadubois125
      @hibadubois125 8 месяцев назад +2

      “The “SSSS” you may see on an airline boarding pass is short for “Secondary Security Screening Selection.” If you see this on your boarding pass it means you will be subjected to additional security screening processes.”
      “If you spot those four letters on your boarding pass, you may be taken aside by a TSA officer during the regular airport security screening process and subjected to additional searches, whether that's in your bag or on your person.
      Perhaps more commonly, you'll be taken aside during the boarding process, where an agent will ask you to unpack your personal item and carry-on bag for a thorough manual search. Your electronics might be swabbed and tested (be prepared to take off any cases), and you might also be patted down.
      Overall, these processes can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to half an hour or more.”
      “There's no published information about who is selected for SSSS - and that's intentional. If security threats knew how to avoid SSSS, they might not be caught. Anecdotally, it seems that SSSS is given to passengers with more unusual travel patterns, such as one-way international tickets or travel to destinations deemed high-risk by the U.S. It's also very likely that the TSA doles out the SSSS designation randomly, too.”

    Very helpful video! Quick question, I'm flying soon and I am able to check in online. I only have carry on-luggage, but I was wondering where the dimensions and weights are checked for those, since I do not have to go to a check in counter? And will they get some sort of tag to prove that they fit the dimensions?

    • @buildyourmoxie
      @buildyourmoxie  4 месяца назад +1

      Hehe hello! :) if you don’t have to go to check in counter, the dimensions are usually eye balled when you are boarding! One of the perks for not bringing a checked bag 😁
      However the truth comes out if your bag is too big if it doesn’t fit overhead ☠️
      So just make sure to measure ur carry on bag :) normally 22x14x9” is perfect ♥️♥️

      Hi! :) hehe how fun!! If you stay with the same airline, your bag should make it to your final destination without you touching it :)

To me it’s too risky as I don’t like to have complications between flights 😝. The only time this is okay to me is if i had a very long layover or stopover and planning to leave the airport.

    Lemon oil and fresh ginger (not the candy kind) are the best to cure motion sickness. Bring essential lemon oil and inhale it periodically to prevent motion sickness. If possible, bring a few thin slice of lemon or ginger to take during flight if you have extreme motion sickness. A video went viral a few years ago when a girl who always had a bag of freshly-squeezed lemon juice with her everyday during her subway ride. People noticed she inhaled the smell of lemon juice during the ride every day to avoid motion sickness. People were curious and a doctor went on RUclips to confirm citric is one of the best remedy to cure nausea.
    My doctor said ginger candies are not as effective because of sugar. My friend had extremely morning sickness during her pregnancy, and she swears lemon was her life saving hack. My family took ginger tea (not the tea bags), we used organic ground ginger and added hot water in the tumblers to make ginger tea. During a cold, rainy and windy whale watching excursion in Alaska, we took ginger tea to keep us warm and to avoid motion sickness. We didn’t feel motion sickness one bit. We kinda enjoyed the bouncy movements of the boat. I noticed other passengers were struggling to survive the excursion.
