  • The south side of Snoqualmie Summit (now Summit West) contained a learning area, served by several rope tows, and a nearby chair, which served more intermediate terrain. The lift was called Easy Rider, and was a Thiokol triple installed in 1975. Snoqualmie Summit combined with Ski Acres (Now Summit Central) next door, and both lacked a beginner lift easy for beginners to load. In 1987, this all changed with removal of the ropetows in the learning area, and install of Little Thunder, which replaced all of them.
Little Thunder is a Poma quad chair, the first Poma chairlift installed at Summit at Snoqualmie. It serves as a beginner lift, serving the green slope of the same name. The lift has an Alpha drive-tension bottom terminal (which is still used to this day on Leitner-Poma fixed-grip chairs) and a simple top return terminal (also still used on Leitner-Poma fixed-grip chairs), Arceaux quad chairs, and spoked-style Poma sheaves. With all the new chair installs happening at Snoqualmie, Little Thunder still stands strong, runs well, and has no plans for replacement as of the 2023-24 season.
