It took a while to get into their final album of the 90's Down on the Upside, and it's taken even longer to get into their final album for life. King Animal is a masterpiece.
It's 2019 and the more time goes on the more I miss Chris, the band finally got back together and they did a new album then we tragically lost Chris, I hope he knew how important and loved he was, RIP brother, you'll live on in the hearts of those who love you and the wonderful music you left us with!
There is something about this song: it reminds me of some of their prior amazing work, and yet here we are, in the future. :) And listening to this, I find myself as a child, experiencing a deep longing for something beautiful which will occur in time yet to come. And that sure beats longing for something which exists only in the past. Thanks for getting back together, SG. I hope there will be another album after this one.
You want to this music to come back, right? Then just change your surroundings and play this in your car outloud.I'm a kid and I really want this music to hit the radio. One way you can do that is by actually calling and making them play it.
They were good. So glad I saw Soundgarden live twice, in 1995 and in 2013, Helsinki Finland both times. Chris Cornell was one of a kind, and the voice of so many's youth, including mine. RIP, CC.
Was on a King Animal buzz this week. Very underrated album! For reasons known, Taree pressed the emotive button, and the flood gates broke my damn levee! Will forever miss Chris the man! Will never allow myself to miss his lyrics, his powerful vocals, and his music! Though I can't put my hands on you I can feel you now In the bones and the blood flowing needles on the ground In the ether I sail to you floating on the fumes Run aground on the shore for you simple wreckage Taree walk out and raise the road to my tilted shadow I only know I've made it home when I drown in your ghost light Though I can't put a name on you I will cry it out In my heart I will hold what my bloody hands have dropped Run aground on the floor for you simple wreckage Taree walk out and raise the road to my tilted shadow I only know I've made it home when I drown In your ghost light In your ghost light Taree walk out and raise the road to my tilted shadow I only know I've made it home when I drown in your ghost light In your ghost light Taree! Taree! Taree!
Jesus Christ with a guitar. It doesn’t matter the song, I tear up no matter what. When I reach those pearly gates, I want to be greeted by this hero. Please RIP Chris, you’re still a HUGE influence on all of us. We miss you and need your music in our lives. There will be justification for your loss and I hope I’m alive when it gets exposed. We love you brother from 1- infinity
I often thought about my youth and grunge and thought was it really that good. Twenty years later this song came out and I knew I’d lived during the best decade ✌️
Goddamn I love Soundgarden. Its so rad to hear Chris Cornells voice along with the arrangements of the others again...Sortve like witnessing the release of a strong and powerful circus bear back into its rightful place in the wild to roam free the mountains. :-D
Lyrics: Though I can't put my hands on you, I can hold you now In the bones and the blood flowing, needles on the ground In the ether I sail to you, floating on the fumes Run aground on the shore for you, simple wreckage Taree, walk out and raise the road To my tilted shadow I only know I've made it home When I drown in your ghost light Yeah Though I can't put a name on you, I can cry it out In my heart I will hold what my bloody hands have dropped Run aground on the floor for you, simple wreckage Taree, walk out and raise the road To my tilted shadow I only know I've made it home When I drown in your ghost light Yeah In your ghost light Taree, walk out and raise the road To my tilted shadow I only know I've made it home When I drown in your ghost light Yeah In your ghost light Taree! Underrated album. It rarely gets talked about. I wasn’t a fan of the lead single, although it was very funny in its way. But this album is solid af. Absolute bangers once you get to track 2.
It will be bitter sweet, if it ever sees the light. For he's not here anymore and for the real drama with battle in courts, given Chris Cornell said himself few days before passing away in that strange situation that the record was almost ready. His last wishes are being disrespected.

I visited Kingston and had to find Taree to know what Ben Shepherd was feeling when he grew up there. It's a very street and we get a nice view of the peninsula and the water.

This is one of their most underrated songs. So good.
the groove is amazing
Who is “their”?
How is it underrated?
@@phnigra111 grammar nazi much?
If we like, then it's not underrated, Guess. Unless if you talking compared to the mainstream and how pp love pop sugar songs with a lot of autotunes.
💯💯💯💯
This band was the greatest masterpiece ever created.
THE BEST SINGER IN THE WORLD.
It took a while to get into their final album of the 90's Down on the Upside, and it's taken even longer to get into their final album for life. King Animal is a masterpiece.
Ben Shepherd is a genius, this might be my favorite song on King Animal.
+1 per Ben S. [maybe not my fave song therein But - it aint not]
Good taste and wise observation, friend
Musically it might be but Black Saturday will always be special to me
Ben's contributions to soundgarden are beautiful
"Though I can't put a name on you, I can cry it out..", pure lyrical magic.

Ben writes some really good lyrics
@@ralphdougherty1844 Chris wrote the lyrics
"I only know I've made it home when I drown in your ghost light" this is how an artist would write great metaforic lyrics
Another legend from the 90's era has passed.

Andrew? I know the rest.

Angry Sinatra There's an album coming out in 2016
+Angry Sinatra well, ben said he wrote this song in the late 90's so... yeah

The main riff is kind of like "overfloater" from Down on the upside
they aren't coming up with a new album :(
RIP Chris, such a terrible, sickening loss. Trying but can't put myself together.
Me either and it’s 2021.

I’d believe it. Ben Shepherd’s solo album, In Deep Owl (HBS) the title is from a neighborhood he ran in, Seattle (?)
