Rene dancing to hbks music is comedy gold.
haha need more random HBK music drops.
Tajiri had the best kicks. His signature submission on the ropes was fire.
The tarantula!
That duck-under super kick he did was brutal. Same with the Buzzsaw
@@Evs78101 the Hand spring elbow from the ropes too bro. Bro as a Kid I always wanted Tajiri’s moveset and Dupree’s Physique. Literally in the video games I would take Tajiri’s moves.
Could have used the green mist more though! That was always really special when he pulled that out!
Thank you Renee for being real. You're a down to earth person and honest
"The Midnight Rockers, we're Shawn and Marty, we love to wrestle, and we love to party.
Conway would be a great guest
"Who is your daddy Montreal ?" - Shawn Michaels
I used to always play as Rene and Sylvain on Smackdown vs Raw 2006 when I was a kid.... Those were the days
I’m religiously watching this podcast.
Might just be the bias Canadian in me, but this feels so much more authentic than other wrestlers podcasts.
...Well, not having to listen to Conrad Thomson's B.S is certainly refreshing!....Plus, I always thought Rene was a legit talent. One of COUNTLESS guys they dropped the ball on in the post attitude era wasteland......For a publicly traded company, it's amazing how Vince has gotten away with treating WWE as his personal playground to use and abuse people as he sees fit.....ANY other publicly traded company would have ousted him as chairman in 2002.
@@deelux5519 I think him and the family own enough shares that they would win if it ever came to a vote
@@bigdaddyroy5382 That brings up an interesting question....So, they took WWE public, did an IPO and all that Jazz....Hey, I've owned WWE stock myself. (I actually made decent little chunk of change flipping it when its value increased beyond anything I had been expecting....thanks Vince!).....But I've always heard the majority of stock was held by the family, I mean an OVERWHELMING majority of the stock.....It just seems a little odd that they went public and then ended up owning all but token amounts of stock in the company......Maybe going public was one of Vince's best "angles" ever. and he worked the Wall Street "money marks" right out of their tight-whiteys.
@@deelux5519 very well could be all a scam, cornette has called it a scam in the past
@@bigdaddyroy5382 Interesting, I don't know enough about it....I SHOULD probably know more than I do, maybe I'll look into it a bit. If Cornette has alluded to it being scam it's probably worth taking a closer look.
I stumbled upon this channel somehow, and been hooked ever since. Don't know if you've talked about him yet, but would love to hear any stories about Sean O'Haire?
Same came by it by accident been listening ever since great insight!
Heart 💔 Break kid. The boy toy. I've loved him, hated him, but respect him for retiring and not hanging on way past their primes like Hogan and Flair lol
I take it you never saw his match or highlights from his last match ever he had at one of the Saudi Arabia shows?
@@John_Smith77 saw it, it was a complete & utter Shit Show!!! Lol!
@@harry-thepug76 Shawn was the only guy that was good in that match. Undertaker, Kane, and Triple H botched quite a bit and Shawn had to carry the match by himself when Triple H got hurt.
@@fmthebaron I wasn't singling out HBK for sole responsibility, it takes all the wrestlers involved in a match to make it a good or bad match! As I said it was a complete & utter shit show;
You're too soft. I am surprised that you made it to 2022 with that attitude
We need some Rene Dupree merch for the future I'd cop some. Been a fan of your work since i was in elementary school back in 05 keep doing you're thing René 🏆🙏🏻
Rene has got to play Shawn’s music every episode now I’m crying 🤣🤣
rene acting like shawn michaels😂😂😹
The R-Truth thing happened during the 2009 DX run. Truth was in TNA in 2006.
Thanks I forgot if it was 06 or 09
Haha should do a pod in french or japanese onetime, may boost the followers count even more. Congrats on 7k
I laughed too hard at that dirt sheets writers comment😂😂
Booker T has recently had a hissy fit about Rene regarding the Paul London episode, apologising to Paul but then going in on Rene not apologising to him. Rene has said one thing about Booker T that he broke his nose on that spinning elbow. Like he said himself it’s wrestling and things like that can happen, why is he being so precious. Rene is simply more interesting to listen to than Booker T. They are not just burying people they are telling funny stories. Also Max is 100% about Rene because 1. They used his actual name and 2. Maximum Male Models. Also Booker T, please learn to do the bicep curl machine properly. Put that in your pipe and smoke it sucka!
🤣
Max Dupri is a Rico/Fandango hybrid
Great Show! HBK's my all time favorite so it's always good to hear stories about him from different wrestlers.
I really wish Eli Drake/LA Knight/Max Dupri all the best! I hope he finds success and what he’s given he turns into gold on the main roster. I’m a huge Eli Drake fan also!
Best podcast
Brilliant episode!
I'll never get sick of your Michael Hayes noises DOOT DOOT! 🤣🤜🤛
Would be hilarious to see an episode all about him 😂
Renee comes across as a genuinely nice guy who really cares about wrestling. A true professional. He’s a very smart guy.
Rene was in rare form-loved all the Sexy boy song breaks lol. Another great episode. 👏🏻
Get a ** Godamn ** t-shirt order now,😆Rene do that cornette impression, godamn , to start the show 😆
This is an underrated podcast. Love these real wwe stories. Always thought Rene had a hell of a build and always popped for the French tickler.
Rene deserves more praise 👏best drop kick ever
What about Jindrak?
@@Doctor-Stoppage yeah you right jindrak had a great drop kick.Rene always seemed so light on his feet.
Any chances of bringing Jim Cornette to Café de René? It would be great. Your impersonation of him is hilarious btw
Chances of that are unlikely I'm afraid
I completely feel Rene especially when HBK's music hits, just feels so right loool....I don't care what people said about Shawn being..you know...lol he still was a role model for the ladies' men...not just men's men! lololol
This episode cracked me up with Rene’s hbk & James saying he is the mystery opponent 😂 Keep up the great work guys.
Muddddder and fadder luh !!! That was deadly brother. Maritime's for life man.
Rene is the best. Honestly was not much of a fan when I was a kid, being older I realize that was the point. He was really good at his job. Thanks Rene for the honest stories really awesome to hear.
Great episode. I am Canadian so Bret Hart was my guy. Have you had any Bret Hart interactions?
Glad you kept giving Rene fan questions, even after he said he was done, lol we put questions in for a reason, so thanks
🤣🤣🤣 your killing me everytime you do the Shawn Michael's music and mock face, I'm dying.
I love Rene and this show, there's no way anyone can believe that Eli Drake is called Max Dupri to try to draw houses because people will believe it's Rene Dupree.
Wwe is just trying to draw attention and make the audience think
Rene hell of a show ! Great fucking stories. I watch a few shows on RUclips here and there, this is definitely up with top shows I have seen. If more exposure to this show was out it blow up. I happily found your channel last week.
Rene looks like he could be Shawn's brother when Shawn was in his final working years in the ring.
toujours pensé tu etait Acadien. Always thought you where Acadian René. How am i just finding this podcast now!
Man, that Judas Messias story. Brutal for him.
I always figured Tyler Reks had to have either been a pain in the ass or just disliked by someone. He had too good of a look to be floundering. I think there was a story of him stopping a plane from taking off because he thought something was wrong with an engine?
I worked in a tag match against Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins years ago on SmackDown. Tyler was one of the nicest guys I've ever met in WWE. Took really good care of me during the match too.
@@mattboyce3276 That's good to hear. I'd always watch his b-show and internet era NXT matches and thought his stuff looked crisp.
@@VirgilZandig he was really good! They both were. He was strong as an ox. I didn't have to post or jump a lot to get major air. But everything he gave me was easy, he always landed me flat.

Sweet podcast
new to your channel but love your just frank honestly. and loved your episode with Paul London.
Bravo you guys are great!
Excellent as always, guys
One of half of 1 of the best heels ever. La resistance Rene Dupree
I just don’t understand because Booker T used the Super-kick all the time. Why would they stop Tajiri
Booker didn't use it as finish
Thank you for another excellent episode on Shawn Michaels. A Rick Martel story would be cool to hear from you Rene for future episodes that is. Have a safe weekend!!
holy shit that HBK dance was crazy funny😆
Can you do an episode about mr Kennedy he trolled me so bad when I was a kid. my dad was honestly pissed he faked a handshake on me when I was a kid lmao
We need the "HBK" Rene Dupree on Noah 😂
Great show brotha man love it
Tyler Rex did a fake burning hammer, was basically a reverse of what cena did but they’d land face down, an ACTUAL burning hammer you land right on your fucking head and very few people have ever given or taken one.
Every time Rene played HBK’s theme song, I would burst out laughing! 😂😂. Goddamn, Dupree can’t help it. He should start calling himself the HeartBreakKid Rene Dupree. Take a jab at WWE like they did with “Dupri.” 🤣 Also, really excited for Gotch considering how bad he buried Enzo a time back.
Eli Drake is 1 of the few guys who can be given a segment and not just a 1 minute promo, he was brilliant in TNA and I'm surprised he hasn't went higher.
the god damn gets me every time.
Love the show guys. Come here from the London shoots. Shawn got beat up in Syracuse by a Marine. I grew and lived in Syracuse, it is sort of an urban legend. Apparently Davey couldn't get out of the back to help and Waltman was in the back seat as well, but what the hell is he going to do? We all know he was fucked up too. Great show guys, keep it up.
Awesome job 👍
Great podcast!
Ohhhh bet this is gonna be good
Realest podcast In the game great show !
Rob Conway during his singles push reminded me of a wish version of Buff Bagwell
Booker T is talking absolute crap about Rene. The guy isn't accepting responsibility for his actions for breaking Rene's nose back in 2004 instead he is trying to shame Rene's career in WWE..
I guess Booker T's offended because his reputation as a good worker is in jeopardy. Even to imply Rene is bitter, its kind of pathetic in today's age you can't mention past experiences in life without being accused of being bitter. It's kind of why I hate society today you get labelled something just speaking your mind.
My point is keep doing what you're doing and ignore the haters. Being honest and not sugar coating stuff is what is setting you apart from the other wrestling interview shows on yt and much more entertaining than the guy I mentioned earlier yt show lol.
He also apologised if rene or Paul felt he hurt them in the ring 🤷♂️
Booker T botched several moves on Stone Cold Steve Austin. Steve Austin admitted it, two different separate occasion
Rene I thought you would have grown up on Bret and Shawn's survivor series 92' match?? I'm not mad at you though ;p For me Shawn;'s stuff in 94' was amazing and early 95 when he was still a heel. I always wondered why he changed the zebra stripe pattern on his tights in late 95' to the bigger zebra pattern. I think I know why though.
The buzz saw kick is so different than a super kick…wtf. There needs to be more moves that look like it hurts so you’re never thinking it’s fake.
Rene Dupree and Rob Conway are in an nWo faction with Shawn Michaels and Rey Mysterio Jr. on my WWE 2K23.
Cool
This was a deadly episode boys, loved it. I think your talking about the Whiplash there, lash larou used it in WCW as his finish. I used it here in Newfoundland for many years as my finish and it got over big time.
OMG f'n Rene! The hair!! ROFL
Rene was doing a good Shawn micheals at the beginning with the music and the hair. However can Rene do the lazy eye?
31:40 I think Vince knew (at the time) he had someone who could help him win the war with WCW, someone who he couldn't afford to lose to WCW, less his remaining top talent would be diminished significantly.
Vince wanted HBK to stay, and was willing to deal with his asshole attitude to himself remain in business.
Had HBK left sometime in say, 1997, Vince would really be left with Bret, Owen, Austin, Taker, and then maybe Vader and Sid. Rock and HHH weren't up to snuff yet, and losing HBK to WCW would've been crushing.
Imagine working in a company where every move that looks similar to a top guys move is banned smh how could they stop Tajiris kicks ? He kicks better than micheals in his sleep smh Anyway awesome episode guys ♥️💪🏼 please keep them coming ! Kane next !
THURMAN SPARKY PLUGG
Surely the bearskin rug thing is bs. I would've thought the rumor would be qualified by now if it were true.
Circus de freak or somethin like that it gots a step bro actor n scott prilgrim actor dude.
Carnival of ljghts by ICP is cool song
My favorite was Kerry Von Erich , little known fact HBK was his last match . Kerry didnt job to him lol 😂 count out loss .
Dx snubbed hornswoggle on dx hof ceremony
Maybe Shawn is the son Vince always wanted and poor Shane was not Shawn.
Somehow, I doubt this
the subject is HBK, when it's a guest it says "with guest..."
@@tomtanaka841 Will be interesting regardless
@@tomtanaka841 my bad, I'm new here LOL
Really random but Rene looks like a taller buffer version Ronnie James Dio
What's the chop story? Is that on another episode?
I'll take 'Subjects Rene Dupree Couldn't Care Less About Addressing' for $2,000, Alex.
La night gimmick seams better than max gimmick
Twitch upload?
Great podcast but I have a genuine production question. Not hating just wondering why Renee is so close to the camera. Just a habit?
This has to be a troll job.
He's talking about HBK, not having him on the show, to my understanding. Rene doesn't troll. He's a respected veteran that should have been world champ
@@akgstone lol c'mon
@@akgstone Yep. I was listening in on it.
Its a topic video. If there was a guest it would have said “with guest”
Rene do you think you'll ever sign up for cameo so your fans may buy a cameo from you?
Never was a Michaels fan
Please come TO AEW
Sorry....but I AGREE with Shawn Micheals on EVERYTHING.....You SHOULD protect your finish! If someone in a try-out match is dumb enough to do a DX-crotch chop, and basically rip off one of the most legendary acts in the company....and he does this right off the top? I'd be showing that guy the door as well.....You SHOULDN'T be bumping around for anybody, no matter whether you like them. THAT is how you create a credible looking fictional universe. SHAWN IS RIGHT!.....Because you know what you get when you don't follow those simple rules??.........YOU GET A.E.W!!!! A company where nothing matters and nothing makes sense. Everyone does everything for everybody. and everything is completely meaningless. Wrestling only works when you KAYEFABE! Sure, for the audience, but most importantly with your Co-workers. YOU GUYS need to pretend what you are doing is REAL!!
no one thinks wrestling is real. nothing to protect
@@ShabbsArt .....If you go to see a movie, do the actors stop mid-scene and say "Hold on, I'm going to take a piss." then come back, read their script and say...."Ok....what part of this turd scene were we on?"....No, they don't. Because anything caught on camera that makes it into the final cut of the film has the actors acting! I.E....... THEY PRETEND IT IS REAL....Nobody actually THINKS they are watching a documentary when they see a scripted movie. But they sure as hell expect to be told a cohesive story where the world it takes place in doesn't jolt back and forth between that fictional universe and the world they live in. It's entertainment 101. If they started doing that....like what the geniuses running the wrestling business do their own version of.....than the movie business would be as flat on it's ass as wrestling is.
Crying about. Moves and. A crotch chop is just dumb
@@deelux5519spoken like a true prodigy. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Best comment. Finally someone with intelligence who understands how wrestling works, what it truly means and how to authenticate it. Everyone else is just madly ignorant or deluded.
I never understood why people considered Shawn the GOAT.. Name one thing Shawn Michaels did better than Eddie Guerrero and I'll eat my hat.
Super Kick
HBK's Moonsaults and Frankensteiners were Perfection. Also his chain wrestling sequence when he'd bridge a guy out of a pin was flawless as well.
Everything
@@fmthebaron no his moonsaults were extremely sluggish
Hbk just sold moves vary well that's it
Because you brought it up, "Kliq This" (Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver's podcast) is an awful podcast. Sean and Kevin know better too.
Renee’s perception of his own role in WWE history is so inflated and disconnected from reality lmao. You couldn’t find ten people on earth who would know or care that Renee was the youngest tag champion ever. Wrestling isn’t real Rene, the belt is a gimmick used to promote and create stars. Why would WWE mention or honor Rene Dupree in any context in 2022? He was a marginal guy with the company 15 years ago, WWE gets nothing from any association with him.. I’m glad they gave the tag belt to a 12 year old knowing that it genuinely bothered this guy lmao
"James here "You sound upset bro, you felling ok?
@@cafederene I'm having a great Saturday morning, thanks for asking James, I appreciate the response. I thought Rene was a great heel in WWE and I hope everything is going well for I'm in life. I hope Rene can eventually shed some of that bitterness he's clearly carrying around.. I wasn't there backstage in WWE obviously, I'm sure he has a million reasons to be bitter! That being said, some of the "slights" that Rene perceives to be against him from WWE are beyond silly
@@waynetables6414 stop being a mark
DUDE! You REALLY need to stop yelling when you promo your events before the show starts. I know you think you are doing an old-school Vince-type, "Wrestling voice" but it is AWFULL! It's like fingernails on a chalkboard and I guarantee you are driving away more business than you are drawing with that voice. Do your bank account a favour and STOP DOING IT!
It's not us 🤷
@@cafederene Oh....Sorry.....But damn...Tell that guy (If you know him) to stop with the 1988 Vince imitation. I'm sure he runs a good event, there's no reason he should hurt his own business.
@@deelux5519 lol dude you complain about everything. Just stop watching Lmaooo 😂
@@forgottenmma3694 No, I don't. I said Rene is talented and entertaining. It's this kind of over-sensitivity that is making the world increasingly difficult to deal with. Constructive criticism is NOT a complaint. There was a time when people were grateful for it. Because it BENEFITS them.
@@forgottenmma3694
Oh....this is a different thread. I thought it was the other one......Seriously, you don't think I'm right about that guy's voice???
Rene is awesome. The co-host is just awful. Can barely hear him, can barely understand him and every time there is a guest, this fella's sweaty mush is always the largest frame.
He's just turrible. But if the checks cash, I guess roll with it.
Bro without James this entire podcast wouldn’t exist at all. He literally does the research, the scheduling, the Long ASS editing, the clips, the thumbnail and the social media. You new guys litterally don’t know what your talking about. Be greatful Rene has a good producer/cohost like James. However, it would be great if they get podcast mics and a mixing board. But as the show grows well see it reach a new level
Chill bro ,that's not nice
