The Amazing Fidget Pyramid! Origami (Paolo Bascetta)

- (Rather Simple) How to fold an amazing transforming Fidget Pyramid! It's actually five pyramids that snap together to become one pyramid. It also transforms into a 3-D 4-pointed star that makes a loud noise when you tap on it, and it transforms into a bird beak that chomps when you pull on the sides. Last but not least, it performs two other super cool fidgety motions, which is really why it's called a Fidget Pyramid. I don't know about you, but at least I am amazed at all of the things this model can do!
I happened upon this model as I was trying to design a one-piece ninja star with longer points. I started out by trisecting all of the corners of the square on my way to make narrow points and then POOF!.... this thing appears! I still haven't figured out the ninja star yet, but this model sure is cool!
Update: I've just found out that this pyramid was previously discovered by Paolo Bascetta who taught it at the German Origami Convention in 2012. He has given me his approval to keep this video up. As far as I know the fidget portion of the model is my own addition.

great design! thank you so much, my grandson who is 5 years old just tried to make it and with just a bit of my help he finished it. he was able to make that last fold to form the pyramid, what amazing. he was so proud!!!! thanks again.

I totally loved this model! I came up with a new function for it: if you made it out of A4 paper and you turn it over and hold it on the 4 vertices, and tap your fingers on the bottom, it's like a mini drum!

And yeah, I actually discovered it 3 days ago, but didn't think it could be also be seen as a fidget spinner. I made that for my lamp. Anyhow, thank you for this amazing fidget spinner. Yayyyy.

Omg!!! It took me forever to make because I ran out of printing paper, but I decided on using a post- it note, and it worked!!!
This is so cool! I used zebra print origami paper and when I made it into one pyramid all the lines matched up! Thank you for this your the best!!! And I’m not just doing origami because of quarantine hehehe...

my classmate made this back then in 2013, we used to put male or female on one side, and your possible crushes or some different suff on another side, its like a luck charm to play with, but yeah you could say its original since i havent seen a tutorial for this except my class mate he didnt post a vid though sooo its safe to say its original!! P.S. you can place your hand at the hole at the bottom!

If you unfold at one step when making a origami crane/swan you get the creases to that. Just something I realized.

I love this kind of model! Simple, yet so versatile! I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that someone has already discovered this previously, but if so, I would think it would have become a very popular model because it does so many things and it's so few folds. To me it even has the look of a traditional model because it's practically a bird base! That said, I've scoured the internet for hours looking for it, but so far no sightings. If any of you have seen it before please let me know so I can ask belated permission and give them proper credit.
