I designed this model while at the OrigamiUSA Convention in New York City. The inspiration for designing it was I was scheduled to teach a class called "Geometric fidget Toys" but realized that the model I planned to teach would only take about 20 minutes to fold and so I needed another geometric fidget model to fill the rest of the class period and this model is what I came up with. Well, actually, I had already designed a much more complex version several months prior, but what I discovered at the convention was a much cleaner, more durable and easier-to-fold version. I discovered most of the 12 tricks after the convention.
The clip at the end is me entertaining at Trinity County Fair in Hayfork, CA. I made much of this video at night in my hotel room and during my breaks at the fair.

I teach students online who live in China. One of my 8 year old students, Neo, loves origami. He always shows me his new projects. This morning he said he watches you on RUclips. He can't see them all, but he watches all he can find. Thought you'd enjoy knowing how far your reach is. He is in Beijing.
I loved this video it was a bit hard but super cool
Try it again, and try to make really exact folds. With practice you'll be able to fold it perfect. If you have a printer, and can print the template, that might be easier because you can see which lines to fold on.

If you want it to be able to lie flat for storage, then, yes, make all the folds like in the tutorial, but if you want it to look and work the best (and you don't mind not ever flattening it) then you should only make the folds that are on the triangular grid of the template. Sorry if that was confusing. You can certainly make all the folds and it will still work pretty good as seen in the video.

Oh, ya, thank you. I forgot to put the skill level. It's between low intermediate and rather simple. I'd say it's rather simple because it's mostly just valleys and mountains until the final pushing it into 3D. However the folds do need to be exact in order for the model to work well and it does use a triangle grid which might be tricky for some people.
