Can’t believe that I have watched most of your videos over the last weekend as I find it’s very useful. I passed my driver license in June (first attempt) but still feeling nervous when drive on the road. So, watching your video does help me to gain some more practical information. Hopefully, I’ll overcome the nervous feeling soon. Thank you.
I failed my driving test three days ago for one serious fault, which was me not signalling taking the fourth exit on a roundabout, super bummed. Going to keep watching you videos so I can get a pass for my next one coming up 🙌🏾
I got failed last Wednesday for undue hesitation as I was behind a bus(couldn’t have been more than 15-20 seconds) but thought I’d follow the road ahead as that was what he said to do. It was before a roundabout and so I thought I’d stay in the left lane behind the bus. Although it was picking up passengers I didn’t want to risk it. Super bummed as the drive went fantastic and I had 1 minor but I’m not gonna give up.
8:55 The car stops but you can still see the "Stop Line" over the bonnet. Then he peeps and creeps and emerges on a rolling start. At the time he stops he was not at the line and doing a rolling start can sometimes be a fail. It may seem stupid but as soon as he can fully see down the roads he needs to stop. Then he has stopped at the line. Thereafter he needs to emerge with effective observation.
Why does going at 34mph on a 30mph zone get a serious fault whereas going at 23mph on a 20mph zone doesn’t? Also, why is going at 31mph on a 40mph a serious fault for progress? If the speed limit isn’t a target, and 9mph below isn’t a huge amount less, also if there was one lane then yes you can argue you are holding traffic back but when there are 3, other drivers can easily overtake?
the 20/30/40 thing always gets me - I did my test in cheslmford and there were SO many swaps between all the speed zones was crazy. i got a minor for doing 35 just before the 40 sign, was lucky that's all I got!
Just exaggerate you’re movements, like observations are a big deal, so move your head when you look so the examiner can see. Just stop at every junction and look around.
I assuming your marking is based on your knowledge of how the examiners mark. It feels wrong for the same mistake to be serious or minor depending on traffic. Failure to check a mirror or a blind spot should count the same if a vehicle is there or not, surely. In this video, travelling at 30 in a 40 is serious, as cars were forced to move lanes but stopping abruptly on an exit slip road while you have priority is minor. Makes no sense.
Technically he would have passed but I wouldn’t suggest he take the test until he can improve on the faults, luckily for him he has the best driving instructor in London so it won’t take very long before he is passed 😀
If they’re not paying for mock tests are any random learners insured to just drive any instructors car? Might be a stupid question but i’m just curious
I think they are insured for provisional license holders which is why when you pass your test you aren't allowed to drive the instructors car back. Ofc am not absolutely sure but that is what I assumed after I passed my test since I had to get out of the drivers seat.
We really need to stop diluting the theory test with stupid questions. Lots of new drivers as in this case, aren't confident re the 30mph limit. . Eg, street lights, no speed signs. Apart from on the entry to 30mph limit.
The theory test is actually good as it is. If you revise you'd know the answers you'd need and keep upto date with the Highway code, the speed limit wasn't an issue until he kept passing repeater signs
@@ryseretro Yes but he's passed his theory test, but still wasn't confident about how you know you are in a 30 zone..... As I see with many learners. There is no point knowing how long to run a burn under cold water, if you pass a driving related theory test, and are still not confident about speed limits. Just my opinion.
@@ryseretro At 30.05 he said "oh when there are no signs it's 30mph". So he obviously wasn't confident that when there are street lights and no signs its a 30 limit.

London test driving is way different then Australia they don't even ask this information on the practical test you just drive and they mark very different that's as well as I know of but completely different 😁😀😃😄
Is it okay if the car vibrate in 2nd gear and just clutch into the biting point and hold it there then after the turn accelerate and bring up the clutch
I cant lie. I thought and seen many places that say after an emergency stop you dont have to check your blindspots as you're already in the middle of the road and they made that point quite clear. Glad I watched this to know thats incorrect
Hi ...fantastic channel , the algorithms popped your video up on my home screen...more of mpdded car guy so I dont know how lol - keep up the good work! Brilliant!
Ive got a driving licence for 21 years but still its nice to watch videos like yours especially when Im from left hand side driving country. Also I think it would be hard to pass a test if i had that pretty instructor sitting next to me ☺️
@@marcpaulding7582 it's arbitrary whether you pass or not in many cases, the instructors probably feel like they need to fail a certain number of people
@@joseph1845 I disagree, if someone is going 30 in a 40, they should get a 5 year ban never mind only fail the test. Thats just my opinion, I doubt that will become law.
The highway code teaches you to drive to the speed limit, if you don't drive to the limit you run the risk of causing an obstruction. Its actually dangerous to drive slowly, I've shook my head and mouthed 'keep to the highway code' at driving instructors that take pupils on BUA (built up areas).
If you don't drive at or close to the speed limit you haven't demonstrated your ability to drive safely at the limit. Might be nothing wrong with in normal life but it's no good in a driving test. Walking instead of driving would also be fine in normal life but you can't pass a driving test if you walk.
14:20 Luke has to adjust his speed either by going faster or slower? Surely Luke needs to synchronise his speed to the same speed as traffic on the main road. In addition adjust the position of his vehicle to align with a space in the traffic on the main road.
Depends on the condition of the road. A clear 40 mph road (like a carriageway) , you should be trying to go up to 40, 37-39 is fine. 30 on a residential road with parked cars, 20 should be okay. You appropriate speed to the road and drive safely.
'i get confused by things really easily' he's so me for that
Before this video even palyed why is he stopping to let vehicles out when he has right of way over them. His going to do very well in his test eh

He needs more practice he looks to much at he's gears when moving and he wands to much. The amount he did he will fail because of that alone
knowing the area will definitely be an advantage and the driving in a familiar car, but yes he does need to observe more at junctions

the speed limit is not the target but it can be a hazard as this causes others to overtake unsafely if you're to slow for the road condition
