It’s good to keep watching driving videos after passing, it’s also a great way to stay test standard in case you ever need to retake your test for whatever reason
So in theory at 70mph if the examiner says "Show me how to wash the front windscreen" and the candidate cannot do this because it is a bit too dangerous potentially causing swerving. What would be the real life situation at 70mph if a large vehicle suddenly covered one's windscreen in detritus making it impossible to see anything. How exactly would one ignore this and concentrate on the road which we can no longer see?
@@keith6400 Putting your windscreen wipers on doesn't change your line of vision like pressing a button does. In my test, I was asked a show me tell me question and I simply said "I'll do it in a sec" as she asked me to do it when I was going round on a blind bend. She said it was fine to do so. It just depends if it's safe enough to follow the show/me Q. In real life, there's less pressure to pass/examiner, etc. so obvs you'd be able to direct your attention away from what's in front of you in order to press a button or whatever.
As what Advance Driving School mentioned, in real life we may need to do these things on dual-carriageway which happened to me just yesterday on my driving lessons. I was driving at a national speed limit road then it just started raining heavily. The downpour is starting to affect my visibility of the road and my instructor asked me to turn on the wipers which I did. I know the wipers are not part of the Show Me questions but it is part of the ancillary controls of the car. The whole point of the Show Me questions is you should know the ancillary controls of your car should you need to operate them when needed (be it on 20, 30, 40 or 70mph), and of course, when it is safe to do so.
Great camera angles and 10/10 editing. Here's a tip. If you move your car left or right check the centre mirror and left or right mirror depending on where you're going but always check. If you slow down or speed up check centre mirror. I know there's a lot more but that's how i like to do it. Goodluck to everyone taking their test in the future (:
5:02 - I have a question... my girlfriend is getting ready for her practical exam soon so she pointed out this clip and asked why fault was given. I have 12 years driving experience and cats A, B, BE and C and I cannot find any valid rule or answer why fault was given. I would understand if the light would have been flashing amber, or just turned green - the reasoning would be that pedestrian started crossing through the green signal and was just completing the crossing. That is fine - you should always allow pedestrians (and other cars) to complete crossing IF THEY STARTED CROSSING DURING PERMITTED SIGNAL. In this case it is clear that it was greed light for the car and it was red light for pedestrian - he was not permitted to cross and clearly entered the crossing on the red signal. In such case it does not matter if he is half way the crossing - his crossing was invalid from the beginning. On the other hand driver would have to brake sharply during green signal and on the turn/exit from roundabout thus creating dangerous situation for car behind her. Am I missing something here?
It was an unusual situation, but the Highway Code says that a green traffic light means go if it is safe to do so (i.e. there are not pedestrians crossing) and there is space for your vehicle on the other side of the junction. The pedestrian was visible well before we left the roundabout, so there was no need to brake suddenly.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool You must admit that you missed the plot there when doing the video. Now that it is in the video you cannot undo it. The pedestrian was not in the road so there was no need to stop and wait... if she suddenly slowed down, you would have caught her out for sudden braking and causing a pile up behind...
@@ramithrasnayake5463 The pedestrian was visible well before we left the roundabout, so there was plenty of time to brake smoothly and allow the pedestrian to finish crossing the road. It doesn't matter whether the traffic lights were green, amber or red - the Highway Code says the crossing must still be clear for us to cross it.
Great video. Always love watching these. Maybe on the next upload, could show what she (or he if driving) doing with her pedals. So others can see what they may be doing wrong. Keep up with the good videos. 👍🏻😊
Also thanks for awesome videos I am under 17 but luckily have got to drive off road and my progress is good I always watch your videos and it really saves time for lessons.
I am a new learner driver but it seems to me the reality of what drivers do on the road is so different to what is written in black and white in the highway code, and marked down in tests. More or less every person I have been in a car with will do 20-30 of these faults every time they go out on the road.
i cringe at these mock tests but shows me what NOT to do lol, i did my mock test last week and only had 2 minors! my test is end of the month. remember ALWAYS check mirrors BEFORE doing anything, weather slowing down, speeding up, changing gear etc and dont forget your friend Mr Blind spot!! Just pretend you have 2 pet parrots on your shoulders that your kissing :) thats what my instructor told me from day 1 and it stuck! Good luck to those with tests VERY soon :D
Hey Zara, that's very encouraging - Have you done your practical test yet since this post and if so, what was the result? :) I am learning to drive at the moment ( 2 years lol) I just find it quite tricky to grasp but I'm getting there with each block of lessons. Cost me a pretty penny though! *ouch* >_
I passed my test earlier today with only 1 driving fault. 🚘😁 I passed on my 2nd attempt xx Even though I'm passed now I will still continue to watch these type of videos because I enjoy them and get alot from them.
The man had already stopped for your car in the pedestrian crossing. To brake at the point could have caused her to be rear ended as she was just exiting the roundabout. Personally, I think that is not a serious fault, just a driving fault.
Looking back, I don't think mock tests are helpful. In fact they can really knock confidence. I got something like 6 serious, one dangerous and I don't know how many minors, these tests are NOTHING like the real test. I ended up passing 1st time with 5 minors. My advice is to be friendly with your test person. .
My instructor told me that cyclist and pedestrian are the most vulnerable road users and should always give them plenty of room or priority as we are the ones carrying tons of metal behind the steering wheel.
Are we the same person? I also passed about two weeks ago with 4 minors on my 2nd attempt. I just watch these videos for entertainment and reminders for when I start driving independently. Congrats btw.
I saw this video today in the morning before I go to the testing centre, it was very helpful and I pass with 1 minor in my 4th time. Thank you so much!!
In India, we have an automated driving test which definately lacks road sense and doesn't test on parameters which we would face in real life situations... This is how it should be done!!
We can’t film any manual mock tests at the moment, but we do have another automatic one for you this week. Just try to ignore the gears! Good luck on your test 🚙🤞🏼
I thought her driving was very good, specially in manual car.I am learning in automatic and don't drive as smooth as her.Well done on passing her test.(I am aware that was 2 years ago)
To be honest they should do something about it. Like trying to cross main roads and crossing at red lights there should be a fine introduced or something. In other countries its illegal to cross like that. If it was the pedestrians fault the driver would be blamed and charged for it.
That was abit harsh to say im just worried what if that happends to me and i wait at the exit of my roundabout at traffic lights green light with pedestrian onit
I thought so too and the only thing I found in the Highway Code was. 198 Give way to anyone still crossing after the signal for vehicles has changed to green. This advice applies to all crossings. But this seems unreasonable to stop on a green light around a bend when going 40mph
I have driven MAN Laerc trucks, the Ford Everest, 1980's Land Rover Defenders, the Mercedes Sprinter Ambulance, and the Ford Focus in the military (Not the UK military) but never got a license to drive as a civilian. The military driving tests are way tougher and the instructors swear at you constantly over the slightest of errors. Now that I moved to Manchester for university I might try to get a license here. I might attempt the theory test in January and take practical lessons/final test in the summer holidays. I hope my 2 years driving experience in military vehicles can transfer over to civilian vehicles.
Do you need to indicate every time you pull away or past a parked car when you are over taking it. She indicated round a car and I think it was necessary but how do you know if you need to? Thanks! Got my test in three weeks you’re videos are great!
The UK driving test is so difficult compared to other countries and yet there are still so many maniacs on the road! I sometimes think people who have points on their licenses need to retake their test every few years.
I failed again on my driving test, this was the reason. I was asked to take the right exit on both upcoming roundabouts. I completed the first roundabout perfectly but instead of staying in the right lane I indicated left, checked my mirrors and moved over. My examiner panicked as he thought I was going to collide with the car behind me as he thought I didn’t check my mirrors. I remember definitely checking my mirror there but he has decided to give me a serious fault therefore I failed. I did however move over to the right after I realised I should’ve stayed there. Do you think I deserve a fail for that ? I personally think it’s a bit unfair.
Without being there it's impossible to say if the fault was marked correctly. Just checking our mirrors isn't enough - we must react to whatever we see, and perhaps the other car was closer to you than you thought?
Advance Driving School it was definitely safe to do so, I checked my blind spot as well the car also flashed for me to move over and was probably around 3-4 car lengths behind me
Braking harshly would be dangerous - but in this situation there was plenty of time to brake smoothly. We could see the driver crossing the road from half way around the roundabout!
Wasn't that a bit short? Normally about 40 minutes and obviously it can depend on traffic as to how quickly the independent driving is got through but the rest could be extended...was it because she had already failed or would that have been adequate for a test?
We cut out the start of the test a little, but yes it was probably a little on the short side. If this happens on a real test the examiner will add a little onto the route to ensure it lasts at least 36 minutes.
Can you make a video on tips and things to do before the driving test, I have one week left. Watching so many video plus taking lessons in my own car as I'm taking it to the test
Mohammed Kazmi good luck :-) I passed my test a few weeks ago in my own car,it's such a great feeling to pass and I'm so proud of my car too & my lovely Dad who was teaching me XXX still watching these great videos always learning XXX

@@mohammedkazmi801 (assuming it's the same for the UK as it is here on the Isle of Man) take your provisional licence and proof of being insured on your car as it is illegal to drive a car on the road without insurance and they will check this prior to starting
Very good video. I've got a query though: is it OK to cross your hands on the wheel beyond the 12 & 6 o'clock points? I noticed she's done it quite a few times?
The examiner doesn't mind how you steer, so long as the car is always in full control. Saying that, we prefer to steer our car like this: Steering around tight corners: ruclips.net/video/TcDf24iCFb4/видео.html 👍🏼
We will probably film more mock test videos, but we are wary of becoming a ‘mock test channel’ and allowing people that are clearly not ready to drive independently to make a fool of themselves for our entertainment. That’s why we only film our own actual pupils when they are close to test standard.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool your channel is more professional for learning. I know exactly what you mean by other channels mock video tests which I think is more of an entertainment watch!
5:00 ermmm, what? So that's NOT a zebra crossing, therefore you don't have to stop and wait surely? ESPECIALLY if the light is green? Imagine if someone is behind you and you suddenly stop at a green light.
The Highway Code says that a green traffic light means go if it is safe to do so (i.e. there are not pedestrians crossing) and there is space for your vehicle on the other side of the junction. The pedestrian was visible well before we left the roundabout, so there was no need to brake suddenly.
Her first serious fault, I also do feel that it was unsafe to break there at the green light as the road is slightly bent over there even though there was a pedestrian crossing.
I have a question about pulling over, would they expect you to pull over on that single carriageway with cars passing you? I would not want to do that. If anyone can tell me more, I didn't read through all the comments to see if it was mentioned.
Yes, at our local test centre they often ask the driver pull over on roads like that, so they can assess if you can judge the traffic flow and pull away safely.
I have a question about temporary insurance coverage, maybe you can help? I am insured on my US license now and I want to use my own car for the test but the insurance doesn't cover. is it possible to get temporary insurance as a provisional? My instructor is not available the day of my test.
Hi When I am driving in a narrow road where parked vehicles both sides and oncoming vehicles too , if my car drift to the left side just a little bit and if I still could control and managed the situation is it a serious fault. Instructor did not touch the wheels but he lean forward and said be careful. He said my steering wheel wasn't straight. I am confused and need to sort this out. Thanks
We should try to keep a full metre gap (about a doors width) between our car and other parked cars - just in case someone opens their car door suddenly or a careless pedestrian steps out. If we are in a narrow street and there isn't enough space, then we must drive slower to reduce the risk of being closer to the other cars. So the closer we need to go, the slower we must drive. Just remember how easily we could do thousands of pounds of damage or injure someone, and be very careful when necessary. Good luck!
Hi Advance driving school, thanks for your answer...even the light is green we must stop on the pedestrian crossing if its not clear. Right ?? Or only with Zebra crossing!
Shihab Zaman hows it the pedestrians fault???? You’re telling me you never crossed the road when the traffic light was green? She needs to own up to her mistake
Hello, thank you very much for your material, advice and support. Just one question because I got confused: at 25 'Annabel needed to take the second exit at the roundabout and use her right hand on the road to do it. I thought that the 12 o'clock rule indicates that for the first and second exit you must use the left side ... Please, if you can give a clarification on this point I thank you in advance. Once again, I really appreciate her support and material.
Advance Driving School but if she could cross the traffic light without causing any harm to the pedestrian, was it not better than stopping there and avoiding another car of hitting her back? It was a short entrance to that road, she was almost in the roundabout.
No, the Highway Code says we can only cross a pedestrian crossing when it’s clear - just in case something unexpected happened. There was plenty of time to stop the car smoothly, just as you would have to when the traffic lights turn red.
Thanks, but I have no control, I did this a while to go when I went at the free yesterday because I bit into the 8 8 never taking a while for the comfort and hunger I know you said I think you did any way. You hope this helps as it did helps for me, it’s up to you you can take it or leave it when you know for sure
Advance Driving School Don’t you feel that when you try so hard no one pays any attention to you or gives you credit for your hard work, but you make no effort in life people think they can just crap all over you? Any advice would Be appreciated
At 12:48 The examiner says “we are going straight for 800metres” did he mean meters or yards ? That would confuse me as the sat nav is in miles and yards
I really wish there is an option to change the units on sat-navs to miles & metres because that's how most people think of distance in the UK. That would be a mixture of imperial and metric units so it's not likely to happen - but since a metre and a yard are almost the same distance, it doesn't really matter.
I failed my test again today 1s and 3 minors! I stopped at the roadside and I saw a car stopped behind. I think he is stopping for me to move so I move off. However that car is actually overtaking me and stopped due to oncoming traffic. Arrrrrrh!
I would like to ask you a question. 🙂 I am thinking about taking my practical test in a few months, I am practising on my own right now but unfortunately I am not English and I have some difficulties to understand the examiner in some parts of this video. Is there any kind of help for non-English people? I got a high score at the theory test but my listening is not like a native speaker. Thanks in advance.
If you are taking your tests in the UK, you need to be able to understand English. This is because our Highway Code and traffic signs are all in English as well, so understanding our language is important for road safety.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool I have an Advanced English level but I thought people from abroad could apply some kind of help or asking the instructor to repeat the instructions. When I did the theory test, non English speakers had some aids but I didn't need. Just curious about that. Thanks for your prompt response.
Interpreters used to be allowed on the test, but it was found that they were unfairly helping the test candidates drive, so they aren’t allowed any more. You can certainly ask the examiner to repeat anything though 👍🏼
I think it iwould be better to have the score only at the end and no running tally, since the driver doesnt know if they have failed but we do. As such, they will be doing their best when its already to late, obilvious to them , not the viewer.
Why do we I have to stop at the pedestrian crossing even if the traffic light is green. There was a cyclist waiting at the crossing after the roundabout and traffic light was green but you marked serious fault for this. I’m confused because my instructor said you don’t have to wait on the pedestrian crossing if the light is green but you should slow down in case light changes to red.
I’m sorry yeah but if I’m driving and I have the green light legally I will not stop for a pedestrian who has a don’t walk/ cross sign so how is it a serious fault
The Highway Code says that you must stop until the crossing is clear! The green light doesn’t mean that you can ignore slow pedestrians and squeeze past, as that’s not safe.
Really helpful videos thankyou for uploading getting my fair bit of binge watching in before my test tomorrow morning and these videos are great way to learn !!! 👍
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool,When I stop and let people to cross in (didn't wave ) a island my instructor told me dont do that because it's hazard for the car behind you .So it's make confused . Thank you for your replay
That’s right - we try to avoid stopping when pedestrians are crossing at traffic islands as it might surprise following drivers. However, real pedestrian crossings must be clear!
She’s really good at pulling of. It’s shocking to see anyone learning to pull of that fast. I’m not old enough to drive yet but my brother has been driving for 3 years in a 2018 bmw 2 series with 190hp (around the 200hp in this fiesta) and never have I seen him pull of that fast and he is quite a confident driver.
I got another 2 questions 1 about steering and holding the wheel, Are You Allowed To Palm The Wheel And 2nd Question Are You Allowed To Hold The Wheel 1 Handed
It doesn’t really matter ‘how’ you steer, just ‘where’. As long as you always keep the car in the correct road position at all times, there won’t be any faults given for steering. There are a couple of steering videos in our channel. 👍🏼
Why was it serious fault on the Trafic light crossing? There was a green light when she approached the crossing so even when the guy was waiting there ,she had a priority?🧐
The pedestrian always has priority on a pedestrian crossing - as it isn’t safe to squeeze past people even if the traffic light is green. The Highway Code says the crossing must be clear. The man was visible well before we left the roundabout, so there was plenty of time to stop smoothly 👍🏼

Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the tip 😄
Thanks for wishing us good luck
i passed my test first try thx for videos like these.
Well done - good luck on the road 👍🏼
Great useful video, can you make more of the mock tests with different test routes please? Many thanks.
Yea I passed! 66yrs old, never say never, thankyou so much for your tutorials, alongside my instructor...👍👏
That is awesome!
Also thanks for awesome videos I am under 17 but luckily have got to drive off road and my progress is good I always watch your videos and it really saves time for lessons.
Hi
Thank you for doing these videos I found them very informative I passed my test today 1st time (I watched them over and over )
Excellent - well done! :-)
God Bless all of you!❤️🙏🏼 I have my test on 1st of November! God protect me and helped me!
I am a new learner driver but it seems to me the reality of what drivers do on the road is so different to what is written in black and white in the highway code, and marked down in tests. More or less every person I have been in a car with will do 20-30 of these faults every time they go out on the road.
God UK driving tests are so hard compared to other countries😕😕 especially in comparison to America 😭😭😭
Great mock test thankyou really learned a lot and really enjoyed it -you did really well Annabelle ,well done and good luck on your test XXX
Pass first time thanks for you advise and tips and hint
Well done! 🚙👍🏼😃
I would feel the same anxiety as her when engaging highway. The bottom line is she is fast learner in driving and instructor's calm state.
Thank you very much advance driving school .. for your mock tests.. It helped me with my overall performance and I’m very grateful!
i cringe at these mock tests but shows me what NOT to do lol, i did my mock test last week and only had 2 minors! my test is end of the month. remember ALWAYS check mirrors BEFORE doing anything, weather slowing down, speeding up, changing gear etc and dont forget your friend Mr Blind spot!! Just pretend you have 2 pet parrots on your shoulders that your kissing :) thats what my instructor told me from day 1 and it stuck! Good luck to those with tests VERY soon :D
Good luck for your test 🚙👍🏼
Hey Zara, that's very encouraging - Have you done your practical test yet since this post and if so, what was the result? :)
I am learning to drive at the moment ( 2 years lol) I just find it quite tricky to grasp but I'm getting there with each block of lessons. Cost me a pretty penny though! *ouch* >_
Did you pass?
love your videos i believe watching your vids i will pass. well done annabelle
I passed my test earlier today with only 1 driving fault. 🚘😁 I passed on my 2nd attempt xx Even though I'm passed now I will still continue to watch these type of videos because I enjoy them and get alot from them.
Well done - and good luck on the road 👍🏼
Very helpful !! Congratulations Annabel got my Driving Test coming up in 3 weeks
You can do it!
Did you pass?
love this video just wanted to know if I can do my practical test in London jus passed my theory test in Manchester n moving end of week
Of course 👍🏼
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool thanks for ur reply bless
The man had already stopped for your car in the pedestrian crossing. To brake at the point could have caused her to be rear ended as she was just exiting the roundabout. Personally, I think that is not a serious fault, just a driving fault.
The man had been on the road for about 5 seconds, so there was plenty of time to stop.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool also the priority is for pedestrian who's already on the crossing
What a hard route. I thought she did really well
Thanks Madam, I passed today with 4 minor errors in my 2nd attempt, thanks for "the don't be nervous video".
Well done! 🚙👍🏼😃
Well done!!! 🚙😃👍🏼
In India, we have an automated driving test which definately lacks road sense and doesn't test on parameters which we would face in real life situations... This is how it should be done!!
i have my driving test at the end of october, these videos really help me, i was wondering if you could possibly do another manual car mock test?
We can’t film any manual mock tests at the moment, but we do have another automatic one for you this week. Just try to ignore the gears! Good luck on your test 🚙🤞🏼
Same I got mine at the end aswell keep studying and get enough sleep night before
I have the right mindset to pass my test mirrors signal manover..I will be driving my friend's around, I will be driving to work.
I got failed for the same fault at 10:30. Even though I had previously checked the blind spot 5 seconds before hand. Only fault I had during the test.
I thought her driving was very good, specially in manual car.I am learning in automatic and don't drive as smooth as her.Well done on passing her test.(I am aware that was 2 years ago)
5:00 is it not illegal for a pedestrian to cross at a red light?
To be honest they should do something about it. Like trying to cross main roads and crossing at red lights there should be a fine introduced or something. In other countries its illegal to cross like that. If it was the pedestrians fault the driver would be blamed and charged for it.
I'm taking driving lessons at the moment but hope to pass this year
Me too
Got mine on 2nd December!!
My test is on the 14th Nov 2019, wish me luck
Did you pass ?
Wow she d done really well x
I passed my test on my 5th been driving over 2 years now still miss that voice
What voice?
That was abit harsh to say im just worried what if that happends to me and i wait at the exit of my roundabout at traffic lights green light with pedestrian onit
I thought so too and the only thing I found in the Highway Code was. 198
Give way to anyone still crossing after the signal for vehicles has changed to green. This advice applies to all crossings.
But this seems unreasonable to stop on a green light around a bend when going 40mph
Having my one tomorrow, after 5 lessons, just doing it because the next date available will be next year! 😳😬 wish me luck 🙏🏻
You can do it!
I’m sure your previous experience will be very useful 👍🏼
Well done Annabel! Thank you ADS guys 🤗 love the content, test very soon hope all goes well
Good luck! 🤞🏼
Do you need to indicate every time you pull away or past a parked car when you are over taking it. She indicated round a car and I think it was necessary but how do you know if you need to? Thanks! Got my test in three weeks you’re videos are great!
This video might help: Signalling / Indicating Correctly: ruclips.net/video/e7uYp0sUq3o/видео.html
The UK driving test is so difficult compared to other countries and yet there are still so many maniacs on the road! I sometimes think people who have points on their licenses need to retake their test every few years.
That's why we have a low death rate of driving per 100,000 people (around 3.4)
Advance Driving School it was definitely safe to do so, I checked my blind spot as well the car also flashed for me to move over and was probably around 3-4 car lengths behind me
Hi, I may have missed it but was there a hill start or designated start here? I believe that would be a legal requirement on a test.
good job driving license uk
I can't believe I have the exact name as the learner in this video
I'm a learner in Northern Ireland and on my driving lessons I can't go above 45mph, including on a dual carriageway. Was Annabel going 70??
Yes - over here learners can (and should!) drive at the same speed as everyone else.
5:02 I don't understand if that's the SERIOUS fault.
Braking harshly while signal is green is not recommend.
My test was actually about 25 minutes
During reverse parking may I allowed to see my rear camera, what I usually do.
We can look at the reversing camera, as long as we also look around the car for other hazards.
Can you make a video on tips and things to do before the driving test, I have one week left. Watching so many video plus taking lessons in my own car as I'm taking it to the test
We have a whole playlist about this!

@Advance Driving School please do more mock test videos. It's good to learn from fellow learner mistakes.
Good luck Annabel
She passed her real driving test first time! 👌🏼
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool Ok thank you- will go over that with my instructor! thanks for the videos !
I have a question about temporary insurance coverage, maybe you can help? I am insured on my US license now and I want to use my own car for the test but the insurance doesn't cover. is it possible to get temporary insurance as a provisional? My instructor is not available the day of my test.
You should be able to find that type of insurance cover. Perhaps search on Google?
We must always wait until the crossing is clear. It’s wouldn’t be very safe to squeeze past people whatever the traffic lights say!
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool
Thank you so much...is a new information from your videos i learned.
⚘
5:04 was the man actually crossing the road????
Yes, but he stopped in the middle of the road for a gap in the traffic.
What an idiot, if he didn’t go at a green light she would’ve not got that serious, I swear people are stupid sometimes
Watch the video again - at about 4:00 we highlighted a small white sign that shows which lane to use at this roundabout. 👍🏼
5:02 pedestrian was not on the road and had stayed back not a serious fault
We can’t cross a pedestrian crossing until it is clear. Squeezing past people just isn’t safe!
Ok, thanks.....
Advance Driving School Don’t you feel that when you try so hard no one pays any attention to you or gives you credit for your hard work, but you make no effort in life people think they can just crap all over you? Any advice would
Be appreciated
At 12:48 The examiner says “we are going straight for 800metres” did he mean meters or yards ? That would confuse me as the sat nav is in miles and yards
I really wish there is an option to change the units on sat-navs to miles & metres because that's how most people think of distance in the UK. That would be a mixture of imperial and metric units so it's not likely to happen - but since a metre and a yard are almost the same distance, it doesn't really matter.
Advance Driving School yes I realise it’s almost the same.
I failed my test again today 1s and 3 minors! I stopped at the roadside and I saw a car stopped behind. I think he is stopping for me to move so I move off. However that car is actually overtaking me and stopped due to oncoming traffic. Arrrrrrh!
What happenes if you are asked to reverse bay park in your driving test but you struggle to do so? Is it a fail?
If you can’t complete the manoeuvre, you won’t pass the test. Keep practicing, and only book a test when you are ready 👍🏼
I would like to ask you a question. 🙂
I am thinking about taking my practical test in a few months, I am practising on my own right now but unfortunately I am not English and I have some difficulties to understand the examiner in some parts of this video.
Fail my test today with the reverse parking. The parking line are yellow so is hard to see if your in the bay or not. Had only 2 faults
Oh no! Your driving must have been very good otherwise - better luck next time 👍🏼
Why do we I have to stop at the pedestrian crossing even if the traffic light is green. There was a cyclist waiting at the crossing after the roundabout and traffic light was green but you marked serious fault for this. I’m confused because my instructor said you don’t have to wait on the pedestrian crossing if the light is green but you should slow down in case light changes to red.
We can only cross a pedestrian crossing when our light is green, and the crossing is clear. If there is anyone on the crossing we must wait.
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool what is safe is the pedestrian respecting that I have the right of way and doesn’t make it a tight squeeze
Doesn’t matter if they’re in the wrong you can’t just risk hitting a pedestrian just to keep your pride
I’m hoping to learn in a special Vauxhall’s corsa in a Manuel for a driving test
Hi ADS, is it okay to use hand over hand steering while driving in high speed (25mph)? thanks
It’s fine, as long as the car is in full control.
It should only be done if your driving slow but no one really crosses hands at that speed cause it’s physically impossible
Really helpful videos thankyou for uploading getting my fair bit of binge watching in before my test tomorrow morning and these videos are great way to learn !!!

Advance Driving School thankyou and whatever happens ... these videos are always a good learning source I have subscribed 👌

Did you pass?
Can u plz let me know what the reason for the serious fault in a pedestrian signal when the light was green
It’s just not safe to squeeze past people on the crossing - even if the light is green. We must be patient and wait!
I was starting to become test ready and then lockdown comes around, hopefully we dont go in another
On minute 10:30, what was the blind spot, behind the car?
Our blind spots are the areas that our mirrors do not cover, just over our shoulders. We must check these before we move away.
I got another 2 questions 1 about steering and holding the wheel, Are You Allowed To Palm The Wheel And 2nd Question Are You Allowed To Hold The Wheel 1 Handed
The examiner won’t care which steering technique you use, as long as the car is in the correct road position at all times.
Will I fail if I cross my arms when steering? I saw her doing it and I’ve been told I’ll fail if I do that but I find it much easier?
It doesn’t really matter ‘how’ you steer, just ‘where’. As long as you always keep the car in the correct road position at all times, there won’t be any faults given for steering. There are a couple of steering videos in our channel. 👍🏼
If the car has a built in sat nav can you use it, or do you have to have a mobile one?
The examiner will bring their own sat-nav, as they have their own route already programmed.
Didn't quite release the handbrake-done that loads of times.
Almost everyone does that!
Hi do you think we can drive on unknown road for the test...I feel worried if I don't know the road
We must be ready to drive anywhere the examiner wants us to, as the test route could go anywhere except a motorway.
Lovely
Bless her she looked so sad at the end
Don't worry - she passed her real Driving Test first time shortly afterwards!
Why is the red arrow moving on the left
The red arrow is a compass, showing the direction we were heading at that time. It’s taken from the GPS data the camera records.
Advance Driving School thanks
Why was it serious fault on the Trafic light crossing? There was a green light when she approached the crossing so even when the guy was waiting there ,she had a priority?🧐
I know he already approach it ,but he was just on the beginning and it would be even more dangerous if she suddenly stops?
The pedestrian always has priority on a pedestrian crossing - as it isn’t safe to squeeze past people even if the traffic light is green. The Highway Code says the crossing must be clear. The man was visible well before we left the roundabout, so there was plenty of time to stop smoothly 👍🏼
