Love it Josh! The A310 is a special bird indeed. The A310 I took with Air Transat last year was like going back to the 1980s too!. Yours was cooler though! Looks like you had a great time. Let's do some awesome stuff together this year ✈️ ✈️
I thought the plane looked familiar and I know nothing about planes. Transat! I have promised my husband that I would never again book Transat for this plane.
I just could NOT stop smiling watching this.. Your excitement was sooo infectious, and the experience made me so jealous... Flight from Kabul, on an Afghan Ariana, in an A310, during a global pandemic.... That's what legends are made out of.. good job...
What an amazing video. I’m an Afghan and I’ve been watching all your videos since you first went to Afghanistan. This video is brilliant and unforgettable.
“This lavatory has seen a lot of shit” the best line in this video. Thanks Josh for your report. The A310 was a fantastic aircraft! My first A310 flight was Compass Australia (ADL-SYD).
It’s really sad that no one haven’t seen the other side of Afghans hopefully this video will teach a really nice lovely lessons that Afghans can do everything and anything proud of my country Afghanistan♥️🇦🇫. Lovely video
It's enough to be proud to come from the Country with the nicest people in the world. Was there in 1973 and 74. There is nothing else like it on this planet.
As said in other comments, your enthusiasm is contagious Josh! Especially for those of us stuck home it's nice to see you enjoying your trip and giving us some insight in this beautiful bird and airline. Keep up the good work
So glad that you got to go on the A310 again. I must say that the chubby A310 is my all time favourite aircraft. From 1995 to 2000, I used to go on Aeroflot's A310 LHR-SV0-LHR, and each flight was a memory that I will cherish forever. Thank you for bringing back those wonderful memories.
Joah this is absolutely amazing my father was working I believe 1970 he was the head president of this airline and my cousin was a pilot there. watching this place & the short documentary it’s absolutely a pleasure thank you so much
Great video! I was really looking forward to it! Used to operate one of the oldest aircraft in Afghanistan, Kam Air's B767-200 manufactured in 1983. Love those old classic birds, they have a soul! Thanks for the awesome video!
A310 is a legendary airplane. It's engines are so strong that it can carry another A310 . Between 1999-2010 i was TRC by TK and gave service for this airplane many times. Also flown by my self. During takeoff you will feel the strentgh of the engine, but on landing you will even not aware when you touchdown. My far best favorite airplane of all time. We sold them to Cyprus Turkish Airlines , MNG Cargo and to Ariana.. I will miss this legend so so much
I was born with aviation fuel in my blood (father trained Canadian, US, Aus, & NZ pilots in Saskatchewan during WWII) and when I hear the sound of a fan jet pulling those tons of tech into the sky I'm in heaven. I'd kill for your gig!!!
Josh, I love your honesty in the reviews and you remind me when I was younger, with the same enthusiasm and anticipation prior to boarding an aircraft. I flew on the A310 with Delta Airlines from JFK-SFO and I enjoyed the flight. I am an expatriate living in Indonesia for the past 20 years and used to fly a lot in my younger years but now settled in beautiful Indonesia for almost 20 years am not able to travel as much. By watching your videos it brings back old memories and completely feel and understand your passion. I am almost 60 years old and by watching your videos with such honest comments it's so enjoyable to watch, that it makes me feel younger again. When I fly nowadays, I still have that passion inside also riding trains. Josh keep up with your excellent reviews and stay safe Buddy.
In a country like Afghanistan, I'm sure there is a natural hesitancy to someone just filming everything. It's nice they warmed up to you and started trust you. And hey, one of them even knew about your all-women video. I'm not judging, but if some guy in Afghanistan knows about it, your fame is far and wide. Good work.
Fabulous video. My wife and I flew on a Cyprus Airways A310 from Gatwick to Larnaca in October 1994.We returned seated in business class.I loved that aeroplane. Thanks for great video.
Josh what an amazing trip on a 32 year old plane! Nope, as old as I am and flying since I was five years old I don’t think I’ve ever been on one. Glad you got this experience after what happened two years ago. Thanks for taking us along with you!❤️👍✈️
Thanks again for a great, well researched video. The Airbus A310 brought me great memories when I first flew this aircraft way back in 1988 with Singapore Airlines, 1992 with CSA (Czech Airlines, this time on a short flight between Singapore and Bangkok, when fifth-freedom flights were common back then) and with Delta Air Lines and Emirates in 1996. You can also say that this aircraft can also be considered an icon as it was a pacesetter of ETOPS (Extended Twin Engine Operations) along with the Boeing 767. Truly an aircraft ahead of its time, and very versatile to operate. it is indeed very refreshing to include bits of history on this aircraft on some of your videos. Fantastic work, Sir Josh :-)
I did my first transatlantic crossing on an A310 from Vienna to NYC/JFK back in 1989...Austrian Airlines then just recently resumed their intercontinental services after more than a decade...I was 17 and it was quite an adventure...my last flight on an A310 was a late evening service from FRA to VIE back in 2001 on LH...
Josh, I have been watching your channel for 2 years. Every presentation gets even better. Your knowledge of different aircraft and airlines is amazing for someone your age. You are a Cornucopia of knowledge! 👍
Josh brother Salam alekom! I have been following from long time and i cant express my words and feelings that u have made a vloge/ dokumentery with kam air crew stuff and now with Ariana airlines.. All i can say that i thank you from bottom of my hearth for showing the positive sides of great Afghanistan, i would love to see u more in streets of Kabul, and differents province of Afghanistan! i am sure u have never seen the beauty of nature anywhere else in this world.. we want more and more vlogs from u, In Afghanistan.. love u brother. God bless
This brought back memories. I flew an Air Transat A-310 to Rome from Montreal in 2011. I remember even in the Exit Row was cramped and the lack of personal entertainment on a 7.5 hour flight made for a very dry experience. I’m sure when I was younger we also flew on a few of these because my family travelled a lot to the Caribbean. Great video Josh as always, thank you for taking me to amazing places that I don’t think I’ll visit in this lifetime. Lots of love from Canada
That was a wonderful video Josh that gave me a feeling of nostalgia because my first ever flight was on a Kenya Airways A310 from Nairobi to Bombay 25 years ago! I am glad to see a few of the old birds are still going strong in the skies. Thank you so much and keep up the good job.
I flew the SATA Air Azores A310 many times it was recently retired. That plane didn't have the upgraded LCD TVs like this one, SATA had the CRT TVs that fell out of the ceiling.
Great video. I flew a TAP A310-300 Recife, Brazil to Lisbon in Magellan Class in '98. My company flew both the 310-200 & 300 as freighters but they're all in the desert now.
What nostalgia... CSA Czech airlines had A310s till early 2000s, however the nostalgia is that my dad was a Flight Engineer (MS) on the A300B4 since the mid 70s the the B747-300 from the mid 90s... The A300 (and its smaller sibling) has a very special place in my heart and even though truly an older generation plane, it is surptisingly comfortable and quiet....
Great, that makes my day. And you always shine so happily no matter what is happening. I flew the A310 with Mahan from Tehran to Shiraz. Where the machines get the spare parts is a mystery to me. Iranian improvisational art and old, solid technology make it possible. Once again a great post.
Your videos just keep on getting better, thanks for sharing. Kabul airport had opened a new real business class lounge few months before the covid crisis, called Pearl Lounge. The crews on your Afghan flights are warm and genuinely nice, they reflect Afghan hospitality.
Danks, Das Gut Videos! Hello from Panama City, Panama. I have flown on PanAm A300 and A310'S, ECUATORIANA,Air France,Lufthansa, Aerolineas Argentinas, and Air Afrique A310-300s they're the Best! Truly miss them. THANKS AGAIN. GREAT VIDEO!
Josh Cahill love your style and be proud! Yes, me an old school avgeek. Only once flew aboard Airbus A310-221 on Swissair SR January 1986 at the time the aircraft was just over 2 years old between LHR-ZRH. Just as you reported cabin is very quiet throughout the flight as I also noted as well at the time 35 years ago. Swissair provided great service and lavatories aboard were clean and fragrant with blue juice flushing toilets! Transferred at ZRH to fly to Kai Tak, Hong Kong on Swissair DC-10-30ER... multi stop milk run flights with quality Swissair SR service, sadly now long gone. Keep up with your busy work presentations and keep safe. Ansett 727.
Thank a lot Josh, in the 90s I flew many time on Thai Airways fleet of A300-B4 and A300-600, both domestic and international. I really miss those planes. Quiet and spacious birds ...
BREATHTAKING, what an experience!👍 I remember, I flew only 1 time the A310 from Singapore Airlines in 2001 from Bali to Singapore...20 years ago, puuh😢
I’ve flown on the A310 back in early 1980s. It was a new model with Trans Australia Airlines. A nice bird she was. This one is so old…. With what’s going on in Afghanistan at the moment is dreadful. May God bless this countries citizens at this difficult time.
Hey Josh, just watched this one as I too have a special relationship with the A310. I flew on one in 1984 when I was 13, flew Birmingham-Belfast-Larnaca with Cyprus Airways on 5B-DAQ. 14 days later we flew Larnaca-Paris Orly-Birmingham, this time on 5B-DAS Was an unforgettable experience which shall remain with me until I pass. The great noise of the engines was my favourite aspect from inside but I've always loved the lines of the A310 and in Cyprus Airways colours at that time it was a beauty on the outside too. So thank you, for bringing back all those memories of a happy childhood enhanced by my A310 experience. Josh, you're a legend.
This video helps know the retro comments of travel. As a 13 year old seeing this plane reminds that before I was born aviation was still stunning like now. Thank you for always giving a unbiased review on such aircrafts like the A310. Great job as always!
Last time I took one of these birds was in 1989 on Air France from JFK to CDG, a great experience back then. Was suoosed to be on Virgin Atlantic, but the flight was indefinitely delayed. As I was on mt way to Budapest they rebooked me on Air France. Josh thanks for unearthing memories from so long ago
I flew on the A310 with KLM from Amsterdam to Copenhagen somewhere in the 80’s/90’s... before landing was invited to join the landing in the cockpit, and since we went back on the same plane an hour later, we got invited to join the takeoff in the cockpit....amazing experience!
You are lucky you flew Alive from kabul. I flew on the A310 eastern airlines( defunct a long time ago) fom miami, florida to new york laguardia and vice versa many times in the 1980's. Was very roomy. Very good service even in economy class.
I flew on the A310 thee times in all. The first two times were with CSA (Czech Airlines) between Prague and New York-JFK, 2006 and 2007. The last time I flew on the A310 was with Air Transat from Toronto-Pearson to Amsterdam-Schiphol in 2015. I like this aircraft very much.
My first flight was on a Frontier Airlines DC-3 from Worland, Wyoming, USA to Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I don’t remember what we took from salt Lake city to New York City and then New York City to London in 1949
As an afghan I would like to thank you Josh again for going back to Afghanistan and also reviewing A 310. I really like your sense of humor and aslo you make great videos thanks again, be well my friend.
Great video on a very interesting aircraft and airline. Used to fly with the A310 a lot with LH in the old days. Great video as always. Herzlichen Gruss from Najomtien, Thailand!!! Frank
Great review. I flew an A 310 from Lloyd Aero Boliviano (LAB) from the Viru Viru International Airport in Santa Cruz de la Sierra to Cochabamba. After that the plane continued its flight to the USA. In the Business Class we had an exotic configuration with single comfortable seats in the middle between the ailes.... Greetings from Arno
This episode is stunning. Being able to fly with the A310 is such an experience and an honor. The A310 must be the ancestors of what we enjoy now like the A330's and A350's, etc. Lovely! Must be one of the best episodes you ever had.

I thought the plane looked familiar and I know nothing about planes. Transat! I have promised my husband that I would never again book Transat for this plane.
Noel and Josh together...What a great idea replaying the 1966 world cup final...
This video shows how planes have evolved so we should appreciate the past and future advancement of airline industry, good job Josh

It doesn't really matter if things are a bit rundown inside the old gal.....as long as the engines and brakes work, and the wings don't fall off !😂
“This lavatory has seen a lot of shit” the best line in this video. Thanks Josh for your report. The A310 was a fantastic aircraft! My first A310 flight was Compass Australia (ADL-SYD).

That engine sound at 07:31 sent shivers down my spine.
What a sound Great video 😍✈

Wondering how is everyone now with the current Afghanistan situation. Take care

hi
Nice to see you back in Afghanistan and enjoying your time on an exotic plane.
Only the Airbus A300 and A310 have yokes instead of sidesticks and fly by wire. It's rare to see these old Airbuses in passenger service now.
Amazing Josh! And the crew was so nice and kind! 😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You have balls of steel flying on those antique planes in 3rd world airlines.. Stay safe
I traveled on board the A310 FRA-BAH in 1995 I love this little chunky airplane so much :)
You bought us back to the early 2000s 🥰
Best wishes and love for the Afghan people! Hope they rise through these turbulent times stronger than before.
Hi Josh, you looked so happy it sounds like all your wishes come true keep up the good work
Love, love, love the A310. Reminds me of my first ever solo flight which was on an SAA A310 back in 1989😁
This brought back memories. I flew an Air Transat A-310 to Rome from Montreal in 2011. Wow. Haven’t seen that plane before. That’s so cool how you got to fly it though. :0

I love your enthiousiasm man! A310 is always been my favourite plane. Never been in one of then though
So sad that this is not possible anymore. Hopefully one day soon this crew will be able to fly again.
Your video is getting better. Do more nostalgic flight in places nobody dare to go like Iraq, Iran, Cuba or North Korea!
Shaddup
And Turkmenistan
Yeah he should try Fly Erbil
My first flight was on a Frontier Airlines DC-3 from Worland, Wyoming, USA to Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I don’t remember what we took from salt Lake city to New York City and then New York City to London in 1949
