Something about the turtle school that a lot of people don’t see is that they specialize in pursuit attacks done with running that are meant to throw off or create chip damage on vitals so they can deliver critical hits. Roshi attempts it (not as good because he’s old) Krillin does it. Goku does it. Chi chi attempts it. But as the series continues that kind of goes away. Kame House : Kobe
And before anyone starts saying oh how is this different from anyone else. Crane utilized a lot of Ki based moves and heavy attacks. Tao Pai Pai was about counters. Tien was about Ki attacks, counters, and devastating blows up until he started training with Roshi. Sky Dragon was Kungfu. Piccolo was raw power. Kami could’ve defeated him. Ma Jr actually trained a little. Just looking at how Gohan fights and how Ma Jr (Piccolo) fights they’re more of an aggressive brawler and ki usage.
Of all the youtubers who have covered the raw fitness and powerlevel side of DBZ, you my friend are the first to my knowledge to cover Goku's main dish, *Sheer combat skill!* 💪
Man, I really want to see you break down the other Z-Fighters' styles as well. Particularly the other martial artists, like Tien, Yamcha and Krillin. Another example Goten I believed had a similar fighting style as Chichi in his tournament fight or how Kid Trunks compares to Future Trunks and his Father Vegeta. or how similar Gohan's fighting style is supposed to be to Piccolo's and Goku's.
Well i thought he did plan it out because in the first few episodes of the English dub of Dragonball there were a few comments from bulma and oolong about him not being from this planet
@@bradleylewis3438 he obviously thought about it but maybe he didnt think of the name saiyan or hadnt created gokus origin planet and background yet . But I see what you mean

Everything that goku trained with up to the end of the tournament arc, everything's just strength. He only trained by moving boulders, lifting and delivering milk and carrying heavy shells on his back. So far all his moves are just ki and strength based, hence kamehameha after image
@@jayglizzyxgaming8812 rather late to this but roshi actually didnt, it was just strength training and goku and krillin were supposed to develop their styles on their own.
GoketheGrappler , definitely favorite are the main fights of the tournament arc for Goku. Very skilled and interesting to watch how Goku lost most of thoses.
do you have a Chichi analysis? and then compare it to Roshi and the other students like Yamcha and Krillin? It's be interesting to see the similarities but slight differences due to each student utilizing it in different ways. especially Krillin because his height, while maybe not a handicap, is very different in a fight. (not Tien because likely, most of his style is Crane, but both Crane and Turtle masters studied under the same master)
@@TheAnimeTrainer Thanks. I'm really kind of intrigued re: Chichi. we've only actually seen her fight less than a handful of times, but it's obvious she's got some skills. But what i find interesting is she was obviously trained a bit by her father, who trained under Roshi, but we've never seen Ox actually put up his dukes, and he's no Mstr. Roshi, so the training must have been at least SIMILAR, but i doubt he had her delivering milk and running around in a big heavy shell ( and for that matter, Grandpa Gohan trained Goku a bit and didn't train him EXACTLY the way master Roshi would later on), so how each one ( Gohan and OX) each interprets the turtle style may warrant looking into, even just for sh*ts and giggles, y'know?
This video shows what I dislike about sayans. They are not better fighters. They are just genetically with the same training stronger, faster and more durable. And that's not only unfair. It also takes away of their improvements because they only managed to become this strong because of their genetical advantage and not just hard work. It started in Dragonball with Goku and after Toriyama thought of Sayans all of them had this unfair advantage. And in Z it is almost exclusively about strengh and not technique.
you don't consider goku vs piccolo jr the best fight? actually goku jan jan ken(something like rock paper scissors punch+ finger jab or punch)is used in yamcha first not in general blue) Goku fighting philosophy starts developing there,do not kill your enemy, learn with him, fight in his level then defeat him
Piccolo Jr is not the best fight, in my opinion. Did I not point out the eye poke for Yamcha's fight? Goku kills a bunch of people, or intends to, in regular DB.
@@TheAnimeTrainer Ofc! So when DBZ characters throw people into mountains, do you think that's using judo techniques or like general pro wrestling ring throws
I didn't go over every fight, although I should have. This series was just sort of about his fighting style and how it evolved. Later on, it sort of evolved (especially into the Vegeta series) into analyzing the fights
When I first did the series, I didn't break down every single fight if there wasn't really anything new in it (to save my editor the headache), but when I got to the Vegeta series, I started doing every fight.
@@TheAnimeTrainer Fair enough but I still think you should've at least included Goku vs Grandpa Gohan considering how important of a fight it was for Goku specifically.
