  • Frontier Sawmill Info: bit.ly/3I0ktkd Join me as I take on my latest DIY challenge: cutting a massive Red Oak log into beautiful lumber for our new greenhouse! In this video, I'll be using the OS23 Frontier Bandsaw Sawmill to create 9 2x6 boards, 3 2x4 boards, and 2 1x6 boards. As a sawmill rookie, I'm excited to share my experience and the lessons I learned along the way.
    Watch as we transform this raw log into the perfect material for our raised bed gardens inside the greenhouse. Not only will you see the sawmill in action, but I'll also discuss tips and tricks I picked up for getting the best results from this impressive machine.
    In the end, we had two beautiful slabs left over, which Tanja will be using for some exciting projects in the future. Be sure to subscribe and turn on notifications, so you don't miss her creative woodworking endeavors!
    If you're a beginner sawyer or just curious about the process, this video is for you! Grab a snack, sit back, and enjoy my journey into the world of sawmilling. @FrontierSawmills

    Schooch (nudge) is in the same family as skosh, skadinky, pewunch - spelling may vary... main category - "little bit" also the name of a dog. The beauty of these is they can mean or apply to many things - in my opinion.

    Tony, I absolutely 😂 watching you do your videos.
    I am 82 years old and just got my mill all set up and can hardly wait to get my oak , elm and cedar logs dawn. Your comments and panting encourage me. I wish you would get a hand winch to turn logs than use the cant hook
    Great work

    Hi Tony, one little trick it did to my Frontier sawmill long log stops was install small roller bearings on the beveled surface. I let's the log roll instead of cutting into the log while turning. Bearings were about 2" outside and 3/8 inner dia.

    For a used blade it didn't do to bad. Nice lumber for your project. Did you get any storms from the Mississippi storm? That was bad. Stay safe you two. O I forgot Gizmo. Thanks for sharing.

    After watching for a bit I thought you might benefit with an overhead rolling gantry made with an I-beam and atv winch with log tongs mounted on it. Easy for me to say sittin in my chair and all - but I can feel my back hurting for you.

    Awesome stuff as always. I wonder if u put a winch up If that would help u with moving the logs on the sawmill that would help u alot with the manual labor 😉

    I have been using the 10 degree silver tips on mine, have 10 hp, does that 7 degree help or hurt you moving through the log compared to the 10s?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  Год назад +1

      I have ran both, 10 and 7 degree blades. IMO 7 degree provides a smoother cut and dulls slower. I have done enough of both to notice now.

    Instead of square cant do hexagon or a octagon cant which would allow more room to cut then a reasonable size cant go for the square!!!!! Two Ladies were doing this a log and it work out!!!

      This mill limits me with the way it is set up. I don't cut anything bigger than this. It gets dangerous. I am looking at a bigger sawmill.
