An early intro to won shi tong does not mean the library episode is completely moot. The point of the library is to determine the weakness of the fire nation. Now it’s up to the creative team to figure out how to sow that together seamlessly. Gotta have faith people
This is basically telling everyone, “Hey, we don’t know if you’ll like this show enough for a whole revamp of the series, so we’re gonna make as many references to future episodes we might not do as we can.”

Wait, humans can't understand Spirits? Well that's going to cause several problems if they go to adapt Korra as Spirits kinda play a big role in that series.
Well, maybe they just can't understand spirits while on the spirit world. Or maybe Wan Shi Tong simply wouldn't talk to Katara and Sokka on their language, due to how he considers humans as inferior beings with a reduced intelect. Or maybe one needs to have a much stronger spirituality to talk with spirits on their own language, like Yue who had some of the Moon's life force in her.
@@rafaelmatos5851 Not saying that these aren't good reasons but that's not the reason given in the show and this very scene. In Avatar humans can understand Spirits just fine and that become a major plot point in Korra where Spirits play a major role in the series. Though I give you prompts for thinking of these ideas. YOU are putting actual thought and effort into this which is more then I can say about writers for either adaptation of this series.
It could also be that it takes a certain level of spiritual enlightment to understand the spirits...enlightenment that Sokka and Katara definitely wouldn't have yet at this early stage.
@@mcmewsen Exactly! Spirits are not like humans, they have a completely different nature. I mean, the fact they react to human emotions is an example of that: positive emotions causes spirits to remain calm and tranquil, while negative emotions do the opposite.
