The chemistry that they have off-screen is beautiful and wholesome, especially when they're talking about their favorite fight scene. Kiawentiio and Dallas are awesome together.
I can fortive them for changing Zuko defeating Katara her, and kidnapping Aang, and Zuko telling him about Azula while he’s in the spirit world. But if they actually do Zutara instrad of Kataang, I’ll forgive them.

He refused to train her & the fight she had changed his mind plus the necklace thing too. After the book 1 finale she was considered good enough to teach Aang waterbending with a box of scrolls to continue studying from. But the Netflix show she fought Pakku & he called her as good as master right away... then kids started calling her master katara & then battle started & she said I'm a master to zuko. All happened within a day or 2 in the live show which Skipped all the training from masters & they oversold she's a master right away in the live show. Kinda similar to Rey in Star Wars. Even in the original show people had issues with a couple weeks of training & getting master status. But skipping that altogether means she achieved master status by the Pakku fight. I dunno but wasn't a fan of that.

I hope so. In the og, they had the excuse that there were already a few romantic moments between Aang and Katara, they had good chemistry and the age gap was not that big. Here, well... I think they work better like brother and sister rather than as a couple. I would be not mad if they change a few things, including Zutara.

3:00 the fact she wasn't taught by Pakku takes away a lot in this scene, because it denied them both huge charachter growth (Pakku and Katara) and also made this interaction logical and satisfying (as well as emphasis that Katara here is moon-powered)

You have to keep in mind that Zuko burned down her village, manhandled her grandmother, stole her necklace, tried to capture Aang like 100 times, betrayed her in Ba Sing Se which nearly led to the death of the Avatar, and is part of a nation that gave her so much trauma. The amount of trauma Zuko caused her can eventually be healed, but her falling in love with him would definitely be a bit of a stretch, considering their past history.

So, it seems like that part with Kia saying that Aang gave Katara the confidence to fight Zuko and kick ass… felt kind of an add-on just to keep Aang in the conversation. 🤷🏽♀️ It’s one thing to say Katara was fueled to improve in her skills and self-confidence by Aang’s belief in her, but another thing entirely to say that Katara was fueled by the confidence she found in herself with the determination she has to protect Aang at all costs… and that’s what I think makes this show different from the cartoon. In the cartoon, Katara never needed validation from Aang. It was Katara’s headstrong nature that got Aang out of the iceberg in the first place, and her resilience thar made her fight with Sokka, Zuko and Pakku back before she could even master a water-ship… and her impeccable work ethic that made her become such a badass bender. Aang was the lost kid she found and felt the need to protect, moreso when finding out he’s the Avatar. It bugs me how this show is making Katara seem like a timid little sister, the one who’s insecure and lost in her identity, seeking validation from her brother and a kid she just met (whom she’ll inevitably idolize for the rest of the show). I want to argue that when it comes to Katara’s badass development as a character, Aang doesn’t always have to be put into the conversation. Katara actually influenced Aang more than the other way around, and she trained herself and became her own hero while the world waited for one to be realized. 👑
I feel though if they want to go with the route of Katara/Aang in future seasons, this was a good move. Because in the OG, she does more for Aang than he ever does for her while for a good romance, it should be more equal. She needs to be supported too. I'm a Zutara shipper but I loved that moment for Kataang fans.

He never confirmed it. He’s aware of the shipping war and knows that the cartoon Kataang finale really divided the fans. And the LOK context didn’t really give Katara much of a strong arc- she deserved so much more than being Aang’s wife. Katara deserved better and I feel that in live action it’d be best to keep the romance away altogether (esp since the war is vey much real, and the characters are quite young in the grand scale of things). With the time jump into season 2, having Kataang happen is going to make Katara look like she watched her future BF grow from child to teen. That’s weird.

Acting was so good in this scene and so was the dialogue it didn't feel cheap when they were doing some lines 1:1 but the whole Katara saying she was a master when we didn't really see Katara waterbend all that much or just have one fight with Pakku was a little off but otherwise loved this scene

You have to keep in mind that Zuko burned down her village, manhandled her grandmother, stole her necklace, tried to capture Aang like 100 times, betrayed her in Ba Sing Se which nearly led to the death of the Avatar, and is part of a nation that gave her so much trauma. The amount of trauma Zuko caused her can eventually be healed, but her falling in love with him would definitely be a bit of a stretch, considering their past history.

So he is a kid in her eyes in the begin of the show and by the end of it she finally see him as a man?!! He was still the same age what the different i blame the writer on that. So, it seems like that part with Kia saying that Aang gave Katara the confidence to fight Zuko and kick ass… felt kind of an add-on just to keep Aang in the conversation. 🤷🏽♀️ It’s one thing to say Katara was fueled to improve in her skills and self-confidence by Aang’s belief in her, but another thing entirely to say that Katara was fueled by the confidence she found in herself with the determination she has to protect Aang at all costs… and that’s what I think makes this show different from the cartoon.
In the cartoon, Katara never needed validation from Aang. It was Katara’s headstrong nature that got Aang out of the iceberg in the first place, and her resilience thar made her fight with Sokka, Zuko and Pakku back before she could even master a water-ship… and her impeccable work ethic that made her become such a badass bender. Aang was the lost kid she found and felt the need to protect, moreso when finding out he’s the Avatar. It bugs me how this show is making Katara seem like a timid little sister, the one who’s insecure and lost in her identity, seeking validation from her brother and a kid she just met (whom she’ll inevitably idolize for the rest of the show).
I want to argue that when it comes to Katara’s badass development as a character, Aang doesn’t always have to be put into the conversation. Katara actually influenced Aang more than the other way around, and she trained herself and became her own hero while the world waited for one to be realized. 👑
I feel though if they want to go with the route of Katara/Aang in future seasons, this was a good move. Because in the OG, she does more for Aang than he ever does for her while for a good romance, it should be more equal. She needs to be supported too. I'm a Zutara shipper but I loved that moment for Kataang fans.

He never confirmed it. He’s aware of the shipping war and knows that the cartoon Kataang finale really divided the fans. And the LOK context didn’t really give Katara much of a strong arc- she deserved so much more than being Aang’s wife. Katara deserved better and I feel that in live action it’d be best to keep the romance away altogether (esp since the war is vey much real, and the characters are quite young in the grand scale of things).
With the time jump into season 2, having Kataang happen is going to make Katara look like she watched her future BF grow from child to teen. That’s weird.

so having that conversation be longer doesnt work as a replacement for zuko being stranded with uncoscious aang in the snow

Acting was so good in this scene and so was the dialogue it didn't feel cheap when they were doing some lines 1:1 but the whole Katara saying she was a master when we didn't really see Katara waterbend all that much or just have one fight with Pakku was a little off but otherwise loved this scene

I’m glad they got renewed, sure there where problems with the show , but remember their performances where shot almost 2 years ago , I wonder how much more of their craft they have learned , they also look like they have fun together off screen and that does end up translating to the screen
