Changing Out Different Headlight Switch Connectors on the TALARIA STING R (MX4) || 2023 Ebike

  • I thought I'd make a video on how I switched out the connectors on a "headlight switch" to match the different connectors on my bike harness. I ordered this switch a while ago, only to find out that the connectors don't match/fit lol. So I did some research and just ordered ones that would match/fit and swapped them myself.
    I'm just sharing what I did to get the headlight switch to work. I'm not an expert at any of this. If you own an MX4, and your connectors/wires/harness looks similar to mine, then this video may help. This may not apply to everyone. I do not advise trying this unless you know what you're doing.

      I have the same issue but is backwards is it the same process? I have green and black on the bike.
      And blue and black on the light.
      Do I just need to switch the casing ?

    Thanks for posting the link to the connectors. Just got my Sting R last week and I've put almost 100 miles on it already. What a blast! I have a couple different headlights coming, and I bought a bunch of those new connectors as I'm assuming my new bike will have them. Trying to find a good balance of not blinding traffic at night and having enough light for night trail riding. Probably end up with 2 headlights, one for traffic and one for trails. Props!

      👍. Haha that's cool man. Be safe out there! But yea someone at GritShift was saying that some Sting R's have the grey oval ones, and some have the black square ones. No difference, just different connectors. I still haven't explored headlights yet lol. Might have to now lol.

    • @Randumbly
      @Randumbly  Год назад +1

      Ay I appreciate you bro 🤙🏾! I don't really know too much on the turn signal kit. What you can try though is to just call GritShift and ask them about the which connectors would work, they're way chill. Pretty sure they've been asked before about it so that may help.

    • @Randumbly
      @Randumbly  Год назад +1

      I'm not entirely sure, I know nothing about their actual headlight lol but I'm sure it can be done. If I were you I would give them a call and ask, they're aware of the MX4s having different connectors, so they may have some answers, or some good input....🤙🏾🤙🏾

    Hey man, I just got mine and I have a little question, when charging the bike do you have to turn off the breaker and unplug the battery, I just charged mine without even thinking of that

    • @Randumbly

      Breaker should be off any time the bike is being plugged into battery, and when unplugging from the bike.

  • @RZ888888

    it's a shame that it doesn't have the original headlight switch.. This bike is still not as refined as I would like. surron is much better. The only downside is that it's smaller, but it's still better and more agile. surron has many original modifications unlike talaria ……..

    • @Randumbly
      @Randumbly  Год назад +1

      Right? I had to get this same switch for my sur ron before also lol. But yea there were a few things I noticed I wasn't a fan of this last month and a half of riding, but I just remember that it's still a new bike and hasn't been around like the sur ron. So things aren't gonna be perfect. There's only really one thing that annoys me about the bike lol. As for modifications/upgrades, Talaria has a decent amount of mods and upgrades from what I've seen, but yea Sur ron definitely has more as of right now.

    • @RZ888888
      @RZ888888 Год назад +1

      @@Randumbly I'm also thinking about Talari, but I'm still not sure... Have you had one or the other bike, which one is better for you? Is the talaria more comfortable or similar in size to the surron? I find the surron more snappy and fun than the talaria, How tall are you?

    • @Randumbly
      @Randumbly  Год назад

      I've had a sur ron for a little bit before the sting r, and the size and weight difference is pretty noticeable going from one to the other, at least in my opinion. I'm 6' tall. Yea the "eco mode" on the sur ron definitely felt way better. Sometimes I think "sport mode" on the R is way too powerful for me lol.

    Is there a way to have a switch for the tail light?

    • @Randumbly
      @Randumbly  Год назад +1

      I saw a switch made by Gritshift called "The Duster Plug and Play Switch". It has a red button that has 3 modes and one of them will switch the tail light off I'm pretty sure. I didn't really read up on it though.
