I can't bring myself to compare the two openings. Each have their own style in regard to their media type. The game op is the typical; minimal spoilers (though they tend to be the more major spoilers LOL) and emphasis on gameplay simulations and characters. Since the game is much more diverse in plot compared to the anime, with side quests, character development scenes and extra functions and whatnot, that opening suits the game much more. The anime op was also nothing surprising. Here, animators show off their skills more than in the game op, since no one really pays attention to game openings when they're actually playing. More dramatic effects and flashy images, as well as obvious spoilers to the more subdued plotline (especially since this anime only has 26 episodes), mostly due to the fact that it's a "based-off" anime, so many who watch it will already know the main plot (eg, players of the game). Heck, there was even a mini preview in there! -That said, Luke looks much cuter in the anime.-
I noticed something interesting when watching the anime of tales of the abyss, the opening song lyrics actually foreshadow and spoil important events in the game, in fact the very last lyrics give away the ending of the game!
you meant "between zero and one". I think this is why bandai chose the song before making the story. besides...Karma was the main point of the song and the game/anime
I would love it if you posted just the anime opening, I looked for HOURS the other day and couldn't find it anywhere. But this one is really good as well, where did you get the anime opening from? Sorry for all the questions..
well...this is made after the game so if you played the game, its not spoiler, if you havent played it, then it's spoilers...if you wanna blame this part of the clip, blame it to the anime company
Heehee, you're actually right. A lot of people find it "strange" that they connect so well to the characters and feel their exact same emotions. I'm not one of those people. I accept the truth that I am attached to the characters and accept the fact that I feel their emotions. I think my favorite part about the anime opening was when Luke saw all his friends. That's the only things you need in life, along with family, care and love.
I think that the Game Op introduced the characters better and had much more fluid animation, where as the anime just seems like one of those generic openings where there wasn't a lot of thought put into it and to compensate they try to show EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER. I really don't think showing all the characters in the openings is a good idea, just focus on the main cast, "they" are suppose to be the very heart and soul of the story, and "they" should be enough to get you revved up for the show.
TDesura i played the game and watched the japanese subbed anime. i played the game first. i beat it about 4 times now and still can't get over how much Jade is such an A** throughout the whole game. but still the game is quite challenging when you do the side quests too. i would think that it'd be good to play the game before watching the anime. the only reason i say this. because the game has alot of differences than the anime and the anime flipped around some parts. the storyline is more straight forward in the game and you will get the story a bit better in the game. so play the game first then watch the anime.
If you'll watch it in sub, I highly urge you to get the subs made by AbyssalChronicles. Those who played the game will recognize that they lifted dialogue straight out of the game's English release and added a little something during combat scenes.
Anime opening for the win. I loved how they included the God Generals and also left the middle part open for scenes from the current episode.
well, personaly I still like the game opening better since the anime opening gave out spoilers for each of the episodes.

I liked the anime opening! It made me smile :)! One of the anime op's part made me laugh and smile...!

I didn't think Anise was all that fond of Luke, but she's the one to run at him and hug him
Why hasn't anyone uploaded just the anime opening by itself? It's impossible to find. :'c
i'm looking for it😒

@stormcrow5 That is because there is no actual, the start of the Actual OP was the recap of it's previous Episode
if I had to choose that would be hard they are both very awesome xP
but I would have to go with the video game one cuz that like the original xP
@shileno8 I know, I beat the game long before I watched it too and I am glad I did that. It also helps to understand the anime better, too.

I haven't been able to find just the anime OP either. D: You would think it wouldn't be so hard to find.......
I would love it if you posted just the anime opening, I looked for HOURS the other day and couldn't find it anywhere. But this one is really good as well, where did you get the anime opening from? Sorry for all the questions..
1:35 - 1:45 is the best part for anime and game...
@Nightingale2814 i cant judge taste, we all have different taste in it but lets not bother others
There are already Anime Vids actually, you just have to narrow your search with the word anime
I FINALLY GOT THE GAME FOR 3DS!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR LUKE TO GET TO HIS "OTHER SIDE!!!" >:D
thanks
well...this is made after the game so if you played the game, its not spoiler, if you havent played it, then it's spoilers...if you wanna blame this part of the clip, blame it to the anime company
@1070lp sorry, this is the lightest memory i have on that time
Both are good, but u did not need to include the little bit of the anime right infront of the actualy OP
@lightofthesacredflam Just search for the anime itself to find it
Its on the anime itself, i dont have a clear anime only vid
Hard to choose
What was it about the anime opening that made me smile so brightly?

Based only on the opening, game opening>anime opening (just my opinion though).

I have never played the game, is the anime worth watching?
I have played the game, and I found it pretty great.
It's actually a super good adaptation.

too late and he didn't seem like that much of an ass to me.
Cerwgal sir-rue-gil Nadil As much as I liked TotA, it's not hard to admit that the game's plot was a bit of a mess.

@Nightingale2814 i 100% disagree with your oppion
The guy isn't a great singer either way.....
