Hc raid is based on team work so casting some spells in front of dummy is much different then casting in a raid where ă druid can cast you înervate and a shaman have a mana totem . Holy priest is also a good good mana raid provider. Not to forgot the shadowfiend provide you alot mana if you use the talent that decrese cooldown. In my opinion the difference is made by the way you mixing the spells
People don't know how HARD the HEALING spot is in GROUPS. People expect us to just make sure no-one dies...when the tank or dps is too stupid to move out of the aoe or not take so much aggro(dps). Well...
Then either, One). The healer hates you Two). The healer is trying to heal the tank more(Healing priority is usely Tank>Healer>DPS) Three). Bad healer.
spirit is not more important than int. int>spirit. your "rotations" are really bad. i don't even know where to begin as far as helping you. i'll just cover tank healing. first, keep renew on tank, you chakra or any single target heal spell should refresh your renew. so you shouldn't have to cast renew on the tank again. then heal as needed. prayer of mending to the tank when it's off CD and he's not topped off. as holy there is no need to bubble unless it's for the speed boost. out if characters
@ant038 Well, it could be a problem where the tank(s) are not that good at using his/her mitigation abilities, does not have a tank specc(shouldn't matter at lower leels though) or simply pulling too many mobs. Try not to heal before the tank has aggro on all mobs, and remember that you have the ability "Fade" that make you lose aggro, and a glyph that reduces its cooldown so you can use it more often.
For the most part great video. My only thing is i probably would have PoH more during the last fight of dead mines. I went holy for the first time since smite spec came out in wrath. And healing since wrath to be completely honest. But i personally hate seeing everyone low. And i might have had a better tank and dps but i didn't really have to go in to the high and middle gears.
@Mycenaea If you had any clue at all, you'd realize i'm not debating the amount of spirit you *think* you need. I'm simply saying that Intellect is a more favorable stat than spirit. You're basically saying you'd take an item with 50 stam and 30 spirit over something with 50 stam and 30 int. THAT is just being a bad.
@Mycenaea thanks for the reply. im getting into alot of situations where the tanks taking alot of damage fast, then im pulling mobs to heal then im taking damage and just becaoming one big mess or is it just dire maul dungeons. So im needing fast heals and always tossing up between flash and binding, or dont stress till i get chakra maybe. I guess im curious whos fault that is.?
@ant038 I think a lot of priests forget they have it, and there are often better spells that you can use. What I mean is that it's rare that only you and the tank take damage. If you take damage, there's a high chance some dps in your party is taking damage too, and then you might be better off using an aoe healing spell.
Thank you, i just switched from discipline, sounds stupid but i didn't realize how important heal and greater heal is. In Discipline I would basically just Power Word Shield and use Prayer of Healing to get the Divine Aegis buff. I have found holy is much more mana economic
Circle of Healing + Prayer of Mending are your best friends for group healing, leaving you a LOT more time to focus healing the tank. Also using Serenity as often as possible increases your single target crit chance by 25%, which increases your throughput by a ton.
I got my priest to lvl 85 and I only have one question. How many HPS (heals per second) should a holy priest be able to do? My priest is in regular dungeon gear and am gearing her up a little bit to start heroics since most of the regular dungeons only have 83-84 gear. Thanks.
@krsthis And why is that? It was the case for holy priests at the start of Cataclysm. You needed about 2k spirit. All other healing classes don't need spirit the same way holy priests does(because we still need a lot more spirit).
@krsthis At the start of Cataclysm holy priests needed around 2k spirit when starting heroics. At that time that's the spirit that was needed, simply as that. What are you playing, holy paladin?
