Definitely Disc and Druid. They were sooo much fun back in the days, I want to play disc and feel good again. This spec went through so much BS on retail the past years 😂
I'm a disc main in Cata too! it's a bit sad how small the range of atonement is, but I think the hybrid style is pretty cool where you still use normal heals
Great video. I've been looking for Cata healer content for weeks, and there's not a lot. So I was glad to see you make a Cata healer video. I was really torn in what to main as a healer. I ended up playing HPal. Like Disc, pally is also quite different from Wrath. It has an AOE casted Heal, Holy Power mechanic, and Light of Dawn cone healing. I will be playing a few healer alts, too. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to more Cata content from you. I'm glad you're having fun wtih Cata so far.
Stumbled upon your channel back in early dragonflight when I was learning prevoker m+ / raid healing. Thank you for posting these videos. Most others are by bad players, you’re actually a high level player who wants to help others. A rare thing. Cheers
I played disc until I started doing heroics and then it was really a struggle. I did not spec into evangelism because that's just not my preferred playstyle, and I was struggling with how much massive aoe damage everyone takes in the heroics. I think it's partially gear and partially that people simply ignore the mechanics and expect to be healed through it. Either way, I switched to holy and it is way more comfortable while still being interesting doing the "stance dance" with chakra.
Really good Video. Im playing disc in cata aswell and im doing fine in dungeons. But as u said, mana is with gear still a issue. I'm really exited to see how healing will be in a 10 men raid.
I'm playing disc priest for PvP and while shaman can put out more healing, they don't have mass dispel. That's what did it for me. Also, I'm barely geared and I'm like a raid boss in bg's. Last couple of day's I've had a few people just give up on trying to kill me. That being said Unholy dk's are just eating me alive.
Never played priest in Cata, so I tried disc and...holy shit, this is so far the best iteration of disc priest I played. You can deal damage, you heal with damage AND you can actually heal without doing damage if shit hits the fan. Not the most effective AoE healer, but damn is it fun to beat tanks (and some dps) in dps while having the whole party topped. I heard it's also pretty good for raids, so I might not get to play shadow at all (which was my original idea, but RDF queues were taking too long).
Hey m8 lots of ppl would love the addons setup! Any way you could make even just a short video on them or something? I see so many people ask, and its no wonder because its a VERY CLEAN simplistic awesome setup. I too would love to have a break down on everything , profiles , etc. Thanks again for another video, subbed!
I was struggling healing heroics as disc too, and I didn't spec into atonement at all. The issue is that there is so much massive aoe damage and people don't bother to do the mechanics half the time, so you are forced into aoe healing, which disc is terrible at. I love the shields and utility, but I swapped to holy and it's so much better. I might go back to disc for raids where other healers are covering the aoe healing, but for heroics it's pretty bad.
My biggest problem is i heal 20-25k and they are 200k and i spam heal to they stay alive and tank pull second spot and i dont have mana to outheal dmg... any tips? (I play disc priest) btw my smite do very low heal
I've been "stance dancing" a lot between fire and will with a simple cast sequence macro and a WA to track which buff is active. This greatly reduces mana for instant cast spells so you just need to try chain instants before swapping back, it also gives a nice speed boost where needed.
I've also gone down to twisted faith instead of the glyph, this gives me 22% hit from spirit alone so I'll never miss anyway. Later I might drop one point and put the spare point into inner focus instead. You can use leap of faith to pull mages and hunters into position if they keep standing at max range :D
Which healer are you playing in Cataclysm? 🤔

Shaman!
Hpal, love it.

i mained disc in cata way back in the day. it was the best iteration of disc outside of what it is now
Man your party frames are low on screen do u like hurting your neck lol :P
I really appreciate this, been struggling to find good healing videos for Cata classic

People literally stand in fire so much more than OG cata and completely ignore mechanics. Those people don’t get healed.

You have to be aware of necrotic strike against death knights, while that is active... do not heal that target if you can!

tempted to make a blood dk
Is atonement a must for disc healing? It’s not what I was for pvp but been struggling to heal heroics atm, not sure if just skill issue on my end

Once I got atonement it was pretty easy! Does pretty great heals but yeah in raids think disc is great asset with the big aoe healers
I can't keep my mana up with my disc priest. Seems i am OOM every other pull.
