Just heard Jim Seal Passed. Spending the evening with the window open and the Summer breeze blowing in as the Sun sets listening and watching all I can of Seals and Crofts. R.I.P.
Jim Seals was one of the most gifted musicians in popular music in the 60s and 70s. To be able to write and sing that well and to play professional-level material on guitar, fiddle, and saxophone was pretty rermarkable.
Went to school w Mr. Seals sons here in Costa Rica and they were my best friends and we even had a cool group! Jimmy and Dash gave me my first drum lessons! Love You Forever Mr. Seals! R.I.P.
I feel grateful to having seen S&C in “73 and “76 . They were fantastic and some songs were even better live . They were seasoned multi talented performers and by then had been playing and performing since the mid 1950s . When “Summer Breeze” went big in “72 they were in their 30s .I pay tribute to this great duo whom I loved … Jim Seals R.I.P. !
Had no idea Jim Seals could play all those instruments! But Seals and Croft got an awful lot of my listening time when i was a teenager! Carl Jackson is an awesome banjo picker as well!
These 3 gentlemen together jamming this legendary song, is as perfect as beautiful summer breeze. Glen Campbell was a serious musician, as was Seals and Crofts..I mean, how many more instruments did Jimmy Seals play ??? Holy smoke !
Love Seals and Crofts and especially Glen Campbell for helping my late hubby's ex girlfriend get started on her way to stardom. RIP Glen - love you from Halifax, NS. CANADA
Not many people know that Glen was in the Champs with Jerry Fuller and Seals and Croft. He later fronted a band with them Glen Campbell and The GC's during their Shin Dig TV show day's Glen was a preformer and house band member along with Leon Russell.
These fellas are exceptional but it would be hard to replicate the perfect harmonic brilliance these two possess. They have impeccable ears as well as being very disciplined.
So amazing: reunion of these three! Tequila was such a big hit in 1958, I recall it so well. We played Seals and Croft constantly in the 1970s on our stereo, too.
During 2012, Glen Campbell went on perhaps the greatest tour of his career, when he and his family performed shows around the US. At the time, I was being a home health aide to my father, who had contracted 'mild dementia', as the doctor called it. There were times when I felt that I had taken on more than I could handle by my accepting this responsibility. The show that Glen scheduled in West Virginia was a six hour drive away from us...it was the one that would be the closest for us to attend. I would have had to take my father with me. With everything else that was going on, I hastily decided to not go to the show. Looking back on this scenario now, I realize that I should have searched for a home health aide to assist me with my father in going to West Virginia. Glen Campbell was more than an extremely talented performer. He went beyond by putting his heart and soul into his onstage craft. We are sad that he is not with us, but, we are also blessed to have his memories in our minds and hearts and his recordings on audio and video media. I know that my father did his best to raise my sister and I. I guess that thoughts of my father will always lead to thoughts of Glen Campbell, and vice versa.
Amazing!!! Did y’all hear how well their voices blended. Wish they would’ve done more music together. That would of been Awesome.....The Champs had a Gold Mine, and let it get away
seals and crofts are ancient musicians who let so much time go by to ever consider doing a live concert other than a new studio lp. here,s wishing them both peace and happiness this year.
OK I'll jump in... Some people don't know Jimmy Seals is the older brother of the late Dan Seals. Dan Seals you may remember of either England Dan & John Ford Coley or through his wonderful country music career. I think about the songs "I Wanna Bop" or "Meet Me In Montana" with Marie Osmond...which personally I think of as one of the greatest and prettiest country songs of all time. OK Ima shut up!

if you're referring to Carl Jackson in the maroon outfit, that's not correct. Carl doesn't play piano professionally and certainly never with MM Murphy.
Hell yeah amazing, uncomfortable and weird but shit man, you will never find another take like this haha.. Three legends in a strange scenario... who is the banjo player??
No, Seals and Crofts were not, they were part of the band The Champs of Tequila fame and that's where Glen joined them when he was a member of The Champs for about a year in 1961.

oh so sad.
This is back when pop music was played by musicians who actually had talent.

Nice. You must have some great stories. You should share some of them with us. 😊
How cool is it to have technology, giving us access to timeless events like this.
I agree. Such talented musicians are rare these days.
Rest gently, Jimmy. Your music will live on forever.

Amen 🙏

He can also play pots-and-pans percussion, and wax-paper comb; the poor man's bongos and kazoo
As a young man Seals & Crofts had a universal message….I follow today.
…with love.
Nearly 50 years ago, but it doesn't feel that old to me. Weird. RIP to Glen and Jim.

Rip Jimmy Seals. You were amazing!

he could play the guitar, sax, fiddle, write and sing like a damn angel. omg jim
So much talent on one stage. So good to see these guys perform together!
Three of my favorites...Glen Campbell, Seals, and Crofts! All so multi-talented.
RIP, Jimmy. You brought cheer & joy to the millions, over the years, who were fortunate enough to have heard you play.

Back when talent was what made you popular
Rest in peace Jim Seals. I will always be moved by your music that I grew up listening to.
Seals and Crofts and Campbell, God’s gift to the World. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
These fellas are exceptional but it would be hard to replicate the perfect harmonic brilliance these two possess. They have impeccable ears as well as being very disciplined.
Wow. These men were the heart of music when I was young. I’m so thankful for RUclips (Even if it does censor me on a weekly basis 😡)
So amazing: reunion of these three! Tequila was such a big hit in 1958, I recall it so well. We played Seals and Croft constantly in the 1970s on our stereo, too.
(Cowboy) hats off to those fine musicians and craftsmen, greetings from Belgium (Common "Good Taste" brought me here)
Ultra talented musicians!RIP Jim and Glen
Music of my youth.
Seals and Crofts and Glen Campbell were so talented.
RIP Jimmy and Glen
What a great time it was to be an 11 year-old boy. Such SUPERB musicianship that is a dying art.
Jim Seals. June 6,2022 RIP
Glen, Seals and Croft were all members of the Champs. Big hit, "Tequila".
S&C and Glen all joined the Champs AFTER the hit, "Tequila" in 1958. S&C in 1959, Glen in 1960. They have no credits on the song.
@@arneysrackangast7140 agree, but they probably played 100s of times live with original members. ..

Real musicianship!!
Amazing sax and violin and guitar. I didn't know he played other things besides guitar.
Very cool to see a bunch of Texas boys jamming old style.
Seals and Crofts were both in the band 'The Champs' who had a million-seller 'Tequila'.
And Jimmy Seals brother Dan was a huge star. He was England Dan with John Ford Coley
Jimmy Seals 💖
Glen and all the rest we will never have this magic again

All I can say is WOW!
No workshop ecpress how big three they wew !! FANTASTIC !!!
Did not know that Glen, Jimmy, and Darrell played in the same band back in the 60s. And they're all from Texas.
All due respect Glen Campbell was born in Arkansas
Sorry about that. Thanks for correcting me.
Glen is from Arkansas
I love your knowledge about Darrell instead of Dash..... but i cannot believe you didn’t know they were part of The Champs..... Shame on you!!
@@USMC-Veteran73-77 YES then he moved to Oklahoma next to Texas
This is awesome. Sad to hear about Glen Campbell doing his goodbye tour. Such a great run by such a great artist!

So cool a confluence
Banjo guy is also the piano guy with Michael Martin Murphy.
if you're referring to Carl Jackson in the maroon outfit, that's not correct. Carl doesn't play piano professionally and certainly never with MM Murphy.
What can't Jimmy play?
1:27 #1 HIT
OMG!!!!!!
These guys were all in a band together in which they didn't sing....Staggering!
Seals and Crofts were with The Champs road band.
0:10 SMOKIN JIMMY SEALS ON SAX
Great video despite the big timer taking center stage.
Glen could not read music sheets, but that didn't stop the kid from Arkansas.
"Black Mountain Rag" sounded Cotton-Eyed Joe-ish at the beginning.
Wish they had sung more of "Summer Breeze," but a great vid nonetheless.
No annoying dancers
Glen Campbell played with A LOT of people.
I thought I caught of glimpse of the young Jeff Porcaro of Toto on drums?
Did he drum for Seals and Crofts? could be. Not sure to be honest.
@@NorwoodGlen Yes, at times
At times, yes Patricia!
The other day it was so windy, Glen Campbell’s hair moved.
By looks, the unknown banjo player also played piano with Michael Martin Murphey ….
Hell yeah amazing, uncomfortable and weird but shit man, you will never find another take like this haha.. Three legends in a strange scenario... who is the banjo player??
That's a young Carl Jackson. He played with Glen for many years, and he also plays fiddle and guitar.
Wait, what? Were these guys part of the Wrecking Crew?
No, Seals and Crofts were not, they were part of the band The Champs of Tequila fame and that's where Glen joined them when he was a member of The Champs for about a year in 1961.
was that John hartford on banjo?
Carl Jackson
Anyone know who the bass player was?
Kreig Houston Mike Porcaro was bass player and Drummer was Jim Varley
And who is the banjo player?
I hate medleys.
