If a super Advanced alien civilization didn't survive I doubt I know anybody who would
Meh forunners arent the most advance scifi race lots of shit would be able to beat them and with 40k the flood would basicly just be another of the dozens of galaxy ending threats. The culture from the novals of the same name which served as a major insperation for the forunners for instance has tech that makes the forerunner empire look primitive and given the minds that run it are basically god like I'd say they win easily.
He didn't even say most advanced sci-fi race mate. He is talking about life on Earth in general which we as humans CANNOT survive an infection from the Flood.
@@vonfaustien3957 Does the culture from the Nova's use flamethrowers? Do they have air filters which nothing the size a speck of dirt could go through?
Von Faustien the space marines ain’t got shit on the forerunners or ancient humanity and also the forerunners have full mastery of slip space and can create solar systems and planets on the daily while being able to also create black holes. Ground combat the forerunners are monsters and have near impenetrable armor and hardlight weapons far hotter than the surface of the sun. They also have tech to wipe out galaxys even universe if it came to it. Yes there are factions who can beat the forerunners but not any faction.
@@vonfaustien3957 actually, the forerunners make plenty of races in 40k look like childs play in comparison. The only races that come close to the forerunners are the old ones and necrons since they also have plenty of advanced technologies themselves.
The only reason i think forerunners beat necrons is the use through the use of guardians which can shut down all weapon systems and A.I with its pulse and of course the forerunners use of their own A.Is like mendicent or offensive bias.
Even though the old ones had their mastery over the warp, i dont think that it will be enough to stop forerunners ws they have also msstered slipspace which can be used to create mega structures or weapons. Also i dont recall any highly advanced mega structure that can hold a candle to the stuff that forerunners made on a daily basis.
The only factions that can defeat the forerunners from 40k are the C'tan and the forces of chaos since they are practically God-like beings that are almost unstoppable. The only chance that the forerunners have is that if they can weaponize slip-space in a way never seen before but i highly doubt that.
It has been shown in game and in the extended lore just how alarmingly fast the Flood propagate. Frankly, the UN wouldn't even have the time to react, much less launch nukes. The Flood took complete control of High Charity, which had a population similar to that of Earth, in a matter of hours, and the Covenant, for all their tech, could do nothing but flee in total desperation. High Charity is quite a lot smaller and the population quite a lot more dense than that of Earth, but other lore has shown the Flood infecting entire planets in a matter of days. They are extremely virulent right from the start, and it only gets worse as time goes on. The Forerunners are perhaps the most advanced civilization ever depicted in sci-fi, and even they had no idea what to do about them other than hit the reset button on the galaxy.
Your line about watching the flood controlled rockets blasting off earth was an incredibly well written and haunting image. That line alone makes me wanna write a story about it.
Master Chief was nearly killed by a flood infection form, one got stuck on the back of his suit and started breaking the combat skin. Cortana had to electrocute the flood with Chiefs energy shield.
ThunderBuddy hiddenxyperia made a video talking about a spartan being infected. It’s never happened but if it did the UNSC have orders to nuke the Spartan floods location. Think about that lol
Actually, there's one thing above the gravemind. The keymind
He mentioned the keymind
@@ajthedford yeah, I know, but he said that there wasn't anything above a gravemind.
keyminds are entire planetary ecosystems consumed by the flood with unimaginable processing power apparently and are able to complete with one of the most advance forerunner AI's, they are also able to use the precursor artifacts due to the use of neural physics.
Except keyminds were nerfed in halo wars 2. Now there basically mobile mini graveminds.
Incorrect actually they changed the lore of the key minds entirely now they are just “low level ground commanders” used to coordinate the flood until a gravemind can be established. Before this change key minds were the highest known pinnacle of the flood
Listen, I can escape any near death situation by being the main character of my own life and using my plot armor
It's worth pointing out that a grave mind can tap into any flood/precursor neuralphysical structures, meaning that any grave mind will posses the knowledge of every grave mind and precursor ever to come before it
If the ancient humans/San Shyumm and Forerunners couldn't survive, neither can you!

The flood is scary it took it only a few hours to spread across all of North Africa.
@Moth Moniker It's not supposed to be realistic lol. They are made from the remains of space gods and can bend reality with neural physics if they become strong enough. Science and Lovecraft don't mix that well when it comes to being scientifically accurate.
@Moth Moniker - The flood is a precursor. In the story of the game, the precursors were the gods of the halo universe. They created the mantle of responsibility, which basically gives you the job of being the guardians of the galaxy. The forerunners wanted it, but they failed their test. So the forerunners became angry and killed a large amount of the precursors (they could do this because the precursors were intrigued by this because none of the species they had created before hand had done this to them). So, the precursors ground themselves into dust to preserve themselves. Overtime some of the dust became corrupt. The dust got fed to some animals, the animals became infected, and the precursor still had it's knowledge, so it started to infect more things to build an army to stop the forerunners. Then they became the flood after some more story telling. If your really interested in learning about the origins of the flood, look up "what is the flood in halo hiddenxperia" in the youtube search bar, and you should find a playlist. That playlist should answer most of your questions, but with a lot of story telling.
@Moth Moniker I hope you do know Flood originally were a incomprehensibly advanced race that would shit on any logic we have "created" in the universe. This godly race was the Precursors whom basically transformed their DNA and shite into some "powdery stuff" which people ate and then that sparked the beginning of the Flood, it's actually more so of a corruption infection that the Precursors specifically created to gain vengeance for losing against the Forerunners (which many people like me suggest they intentionally lost the war to evolve into the Flood).
It is not lazy writing, Halo has better explanations on things than MANY famous sci-fi universes.

The flood would destroy even the imperium from Warhammer 40K
But would they be able to wipe out ALL life in 40K?
Tyranids come to mind, as they are the Flood in WH form, and are seemingly a lot more versatile in both war tactics and consumption of entire planets for the sake of having more fuel for even bigger scale deverouring of the universe. Flood may at best put up a fighting, but would probably still lose.
Orkz would not give a shit about the Floods infection potential and WAAAAAGH and Dakka their way to victory. The simple mindsets that most Orkz have would also most likely be an unintentional advantage for them. @@Manglet762 the flood will win. You don't have to be smart or dumb you just have to exist. Any biomass furthers the hives goal.
Yeah...I don't think the imperium, the tyrannids, chaos demons or anything could fight the flood and win. At best it's a stale mate via universal destruction, Halo ring style.
Saying for instance that all races in 40k joined forces to put an end to the flood which is an extremely far fetched eventuality. I'd say it's possible, mostly because there are extremely supernaturally powerful entities in the 40k universe that only come out of the woodwork when things really get bad. Like extremely powerful demigod like figures.
Even then...You can't ever *really* get rid of the Flood. It exists in a dust like form that saturates light years of space. If the combined might of all the various factions of 40k somehow managed to bring the infection to heel, even then it'll return. It may not return soon, it may not return in a millenia. But someone, somewhere will forget, and the Flood will be reborn. And I doubt the universe will be so lucky a second time.
Oh god thinking about it Flood that has access to Magic
I can't decide whether Nurgle would cure the flood with Isha's powers and vaccinate the galaxy to save his food source, or bring it into his fold. With it essentially being a disease, I think it's very likely he'd be able to subjugate it and use it as a very virilant chaos plague.
Either way, the Flood becomes quickly moot if Nurgle takes an interest.

Im going to add some more scary info here about the flood. 1. Infection forms(the popcorn fellas) are not the only way you can be infected. If flood presense is high enough the atmosphere itself will contain flood spores, so breathing a spore in can infect you. If you were attacked by a combat form and got cut, flood cells will enter your body and infect you.
2. Graveminds are also not the final stage for the flood. Keyminds form when an entire planets biomass is consumed, in the forerunner trilogy keyminds were able to use precursor tech.
3. Shouldve watched the full video as you explained the spores more later

Being infected by a flood spor is actually brutal
Once a flood spor jumps on a host it latches onto the spin and use the tentacles they have as legs to spread through the bodies vans replacing your bones in the process adding biomass and using you're stomach acid for making more spors or a way for the spor inside to burst out exploding the body (in real life when the body explode that stomach acid will actually damage you badly) also when infected by a spor its rare but sometimes a Gravemind will turn that flood host into a juggernaut while you are probably alive. These videos satisfy me. Especially this one, its great to know you cover a lot of things very comprehensivly
You missed the smallest ray of hope, its not enough to win the day but it prevents assimilation. Sargent Johnson underwent a process (being a Gen 1 spartan) that disrupted his nervous system. Due to this the flood attempted to infect him. The Flood is inside him but unable to assimilate him. Dr Halsey also believe the flood in his system offer a healing factor. It would be difficult and costly (as in people who undergo and fail) to generate a similar effect but possible. Unfortunately the time between the start of the infection and learning this and creating or procedure to try would take too long. That said. good video.
I honestly think this is something that could happen. Obviously the “flood” would and/or could be slightly different by some means but I believe that if we were to interfere with an Alien life-forms galactic travel and they were to touch down. I 100% think it would be a form similar to the flood.

I'm sure I could hug the Tyrannids and we would all be friends. Their such good puppy's.
To be fair. You'd probably survive 40k if you hid out with the other humans
I fell like this video was a f you to any who said that they'll be able to survive a green flu. This was a good video. You should make a Lore Video on the Resistance game series or Resident Evil.
So in short, you can survive the flood but you'll be begging for death that the flood will not allow and even if you were to die they'll still be using your body,
in that case a lava bath is literally the only better way to go because at least they can't touch your body
The Flood can infect entire planets down to the core it’s stupidly OP
Jokes on you:
I’m dead inside.
The Flood wont touch me!
man... I would call this a flash FLOOD...... I want to die
You would not survive uganda knuckles apocalypse
@pkslider725 like a Minotaur?
The flood is one of those things that wouldn’t be fun to survive not like a zombie apocalypse
if a HIGHLY advanced alien race could barley win against the flood then humanity is gonna take a tentacle to the everything
As a kid I was always afraid of the Flood so I never beat the campaign
At 6:29 Miranda turns into a combat form male soldier when infected. Lol wut?
Patriarchy!
@Foxy BT
Also, Miranda was not programmed as being able to be infected, it's just what happened when Kidd hacked the game and forced it.
To put things in perspective: On Alpha Halo the Flood had managed to reach the Control Room, infect the Truth and Reconciliation and start repairing it, start building a Proto-Gravemind, and travel the 1,000 or so miles from the Control Room to the Pillar of Autumn's crash site in *less than a day* after being released, all whilst still being in their Feral Stage.
That's how terrifyingly quickly a Flood outbreak can get out of control if *immediate* action isn't taken!
The Flood is, well the Flood. You cannot stop it. Has high amounts of intelligence in higher stages, is airborne,AND IT IS LITERALLY THE CORPSE OF GODS.
Necromorphs vs the Flood who would win? If Necromorph reply if flood like
.
Proto gravemind: assimilates my knowledge
Proto gravemind: oh my god such filth and degenerate toughts ew
*The Flood takes over you and learns of your search history . What is their new mission ?*
FUN FACT:did you know that master chief almost dies to the flood but cortana shocked the spore while it was infecting chief.
Also if the flood consumes me the only thing they will get is depression
Yo I could only imagine what marines on the ground must be going through during a flood outbreak. Like fighting the covenant wasn’t enough, it must be truly horrifying to fight the flood and see what they are capable of.
Wait what if the logic plague affected machines that are determined exterminators( rogue defense system)
If I was a Spartan 2 and my name was John 117 then yes I would survive.
Even “ancient” humans didn’t stand a chance and they were far more advanced than the humans in the modern halo universe, and the humans in the modern halo universe are far more advanced than us.
