When these products first showed up my first thought was some butthead will go apply this to someone’s car to make another shop look bad. I have read bits and pieces where Yvan says these products do not remove the coating but simply mask the characteristics. I think you did an awesome job explaining how these products work and showing how the tool can be used for those adding newer ceramic coatings on top of existing ceramic coatings for warranty reasons. Thank you for always educating me as I have learned so much from you!

great video brian...... but to be fair i tink the remover is designed to remove older more aged protectants vs freshly applied. probably wors better on those products that are 6mo+ applied.....not on freshly applied. i have been interested in the kmz stripper now i have to see your review. i would consider this to remove toppers and sealants that are near end of prtotection. imho in the intro is states "from sealants to old coatings" i guess one way to catergorize it as a super strong gyeon prep

The facts are two: or Carpro DQuartz Go is an excellent coating I have to put in my washlist, or this Gyeon Total Remover is a waste of time and money 🙄 probably both of them. Excellent test as usual! You are an inspiration, man

I have a dquartz installed professionally when it was released for the first time - a year and a half later, the coating after beeing deconed looks, feels and beads like new. Great coating overall

I think its a good option if you wanna strip older sealants at the end of the season to put some fresh protection on the car, but for coatings mechanical action might be the best option

I used it this week since I had a huge high spot by the antenna on the roof of my 2021 Murano from Apex Metal Oxide Coating that I applied 3 years ago. After two applications of Gyeon Total Remover, the high spot was gone. I was pleasantly surprised! I applied it to the surface, worked it with a soft mf towel, applied a bit more, let it sit for about 3 minutes and rinsed it off. I repeated the process a second time.

@@robsaumure1314the coating wouldn’t be affected by Dawn. Dawn is a ph level of 10-11. Dark Fury Bug and Wheel Cleaner from Superior has a ph level of 12 and it doesn’t affect fresh coatings either.

No chemical regardless of ph is gonna do a ton even on a failing coating, polishing is what you wanna do. Coatings are so chemically resistant even as its failing its crazy.

I just tested on a 2 month old coating, it dramatically decreased the slickness and made it less hydrophobic and squeaks loud when I slide my finger.
It does work to a degree. The older the coating protection, the better.
