He and his Band arrived early on the day of the show and at some point Jones went looking for Booze. He was missing at show time time and finally the crowd that had been waiting and drinking all day were told that the show was canceled. A riot ensued, The Sheriff was knocked out, total chaos. George was found by his manager several days later in a Motel in Florida with two bottles of whiskey and a bucket of KFC chicken, drunk. That was suppose to be the first concert at Possum Hollar Music Park, they shut down after that.

It had mostly a college crowd and served mostly burgers and pitchers of beer. I liked the burgers, so after working late that evening, I stopped back there alone, it was crowded. The jukebox was constantly playing. This song came up several times. Oh Biss, country music is such a HUGE rabbit hole. The "old" country vs "modern" country alone is like comparing Elvis to Alex Terrible in the "Rock" category. The differences are so vast it's hard to believe they are in the same genera. Anyway, I'm glad to see you getting started with the "older" stuff even though Garth Brooks is more modern than George Jones. Maybe next time you could stay with the older country and go with Hank Willams Sr., Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, or Roy Clark.

They broke up ( no explanation ) he was so in love , and heartbroken , that he kept her picture and love letters from her. She did go to see him once again in the end as he lay in his casket.
