I planted beautiful lilies of different types and tulips and other flowers like callies and have a rose bush etc. ( tulips are still kinda okay and bloomed) but oh, my GOD. I had bought these plants (the same ones) TWICE because both times I planted them ( and watered them often so they were taken care of)- a cold cold front hit and just KILLED my poor plants aside from the tulips. I am so discouraged too. Especially because I picked my head up after the first fail and tried again. & for it to happen AGAIN....I just don't even want to spend the time, money, or effort anymore. It's devastating because I take such love in my flowers. It came from growing up and watching my mom's green thumb to grow the most beautiful, full blooms and even fruits and watermelons and everything...I got it from her (rest her soul) and now being a mom myself and wanting to appreciate my home, I try to make it beautiful and meaningful. But this just really sucks to go through this. Speaking of that- I just want to say I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your daughter's father. That's never easy no matter the relationship you had. That's someone you created life with so I understand why you wouldn't have the drive or even heart or attention to things like flowers over life- That's 10000% understandable I promise. I know the bond with creating a beautiful place you work hard for and on, I am the same way. I am actually thinking of creating the rest of my garden with faux flowers just so I don't have to keep spending this much time and money and effort just to be disappointed in the least. Thank you for sharing your story and what you do. Especially since it showed a lapse of real progress over almost 2 years, awesome to see real footage.
