I don’t know why people genuinely see masterpieces that people have spent countless hours on and think “Yeah, imma go destroy it.” Being somewhat of an Artist myself, it really annoys me when I draw something and someone senselessly draws on it by the time I return.
@@yayaskyrim493 Let me rephrase that then, I don’t think people should be allowed to create art over other people’s art without their permission. In other words, vandalism is wrong.
Great video! Reminds me of the time when someone attacked Who's Afraid of Red , Yellow and Blue III by Barnett Newman. It's considered one of the biggest murders in art history. When the painting was acquired by the Stedelijk in Amsterdam, it genuinely made people angry. That was the effect the huge, almost entirely red canvas had on people. In 1986, the painting was attacked with a Stanley knive by a mentally ill person. He made four long, horizontal cuts and four shorter vertical cuts in the canvas. After it was attacked, naturally the painting had to be restored. After long consideration, it was send to Daniel Goldreyer in the US. He knew Barnett Newman and apparently was the only one who knew how to restore the work. Four years and a million guilders later, the painting returned to Amsterdam. But people saw right away that something was wrong. The beautiful suptle nuances in the colours that made the work stand out, were gone. Apparently, Goldreyer used house paint and a roller to paint over the work! Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue III was murdered again. This time, for forever. At the moment, we don't have the techniques to undo the damage done to the painting. Hopefully, the work can be restored to it's former glory in the future.

"Back in the days you were allowed to travel" lol very true. Also, I have to say that these videos are so well done and are good things to watch during these times.
For those who *do* wonder why David's... Uhm, appendage is so small (and why those of men portrayed in other works of art are, too): in antiquity, it was believed that men who were 'well-endowed' were stupid and influenced in a greater way by their base urges and instincts, making them almost animalistic. This is why satyrs are often (if not always!) depicted with a much larger... Thing. A small one was seen as a sign of wisdom, intelligence, and self-control! Michelangelo and other artists during the Renaissance were obviously influenced by Classical Greek and Roman art, and so they adopted and continued this tradition.
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
One time I was in a Terraria building server, i had some friends in a faction, and we built an amazing spawn island. It was massive and detailed, we spent hours on it. Only a short while later, we found someone with only bare Solar armor (you could get items using a /i command, and he didn't care about looking nice) mashing away the build we spent such a long time working on. We were furious. Once other people on the server noticed what he was doing though, they joined in on the verbal attack in chat, (he had PvP off) and talking about how nice the island was. It even got to the point where everyone on the server was attacking him, and eventually, he left the server. Sadly though, he had destroyed the spawn island in it's entirety at that point, so we had to rebuild it. I've never understood why some people just destroy the hard work of others, imagine such a sad, pitiful existence where the only way you can find joy is taking the joy from other people.
Also the night watch in the Dutch museum Het Rijks Museum in Amsterdam, the painting got stabbed with an knife and damaging acid was grown on i also two pieces of the left side and right side were cut of so that it could fit in between a doorway (this one was done by the people who the painting was made for). Recently they’ve put the painting in a glass box to protect it and restoratie it. It’s sad that people need to destroy something beautiful.
This sort of thing has always been happening.
