Hell, maybe the map maker is a demon or the devil and forces these two to live out their greatest struggle. Struggling to find immortality only to be living it for eternity. That's it. that's honestly an amazing theory and I can see where you're coming from but it's just a case of in "a day at the beach" they travel back in time to this point and that's how they escape grimehollow but again great theory and if the time machine includes spatial travel you may be able to go to hell which could make sense but they say "take us to a TIME where child slavery was beloved" (I may be messing up the quote there) but yeah that's all I've got to say but still it has some legs to stand on and its a really interesting take on it and would make sense due to some of Brandon's other work but this is just my opinion
