    Hi Matt, do you think the flip down safeties work better with the lever arms than the strap safeties?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  3 года назад +1

      I actually wouldn't say "better".....I find them to be easier to know exactly where your arm will sit due to they are solid/don't sag like a strap does....that being said.....in some instances, straps are easier to adjust while using the arms vs flip downs!!.... it's really a toss up/personal preference!

  • @brianbaum6561
    @brianbaum6561 3 года назад

    What don't you like about using the strap safeties for the inner arms?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  3 года назад +1

      Biggest reason now is I need a stiff safety to use with my trolley arms....before getting the arms ...my main issue is I tend to rest several bars at once on my safeties depending on what exercises I'm performing... with straps, all the bars roll/hang down in the center.... nothing at all wrong with straps...and both options are far better than pin/pipe in my opinion... just for me and my way of doing things...the flip down safeties fit the bill

    • @brianbaum6561
      @brianbaum6561 3 года назад

      @@MattPendergraph I have trolley arms coming with straps and I am not super clear is if it is a necessity to use stiff arms. It seems like it wouldn't be an issue either way.

      Pretty much. I personally use my extra portion for all kinds of storage (I've added a shelf to serve as a catch-all, a bar hanger, I store my lever handles in that section, as well as my weights). You could also keep it empty and use it basically as a 2nd rack (have two bars set up).

    Question, do you think it’s imperative or “super worth it” to have the 6 post rack? I got the rm4 and have been considering upgrading to 6 post ..will run me 1200. After shipping and taxes. Or do you think I should go with a rhino, or ghd instead. Thanks for your advice man.

      Absolutely not imperative!!! ..I enjoy it and wouldn't have settled for anything less (obviously I didn't..lol)...but that's just me... everyone's needs are so different!!! I myself find a 6 post setup incredibly convenient...but again... some people don't have the room or prefer solely using weight tree storage. While I contemplating purchasing the shrimp trolley at one time...I chose to not to due to a lack of space (rack and floor space).... however...I will say that when I was considering it, I reached out to Rogue and they were pretty adamant about the rack having to be bolted down in order to install/safely use.... which makes total sense.... something to consider.....I appreciate your envy....lol... having the ability to add so much definitely allows for more creativity!

      I have the shrimp trawler. It does slide the racks bit even if you have weights on it. I didn’t have any concerns about it tipping even with all the movements. But I have the rack on a wood surface and not a horse stall mat. I don’t have a punching bag mounted as I use it for my daughter’s swing while I workout. Do expect noise like grinding as the clip/hole part is metal on metal. I did end up bolting the rack to the wood floor Bc of the sliding

    How does the lat pull down feel on the rouge with the trolley arm vs say a standard cable pulldown?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  3 года назад

      I personally can't feel a difference...you can adjust the angle of the arm to increase/lessen the resistance...but the overall feel of the movement is great! The main advantage to setting it up this way is loading/unloading is quite a bit easier using the arm as opposed to using the weight plate attachment Rogue offers.

      @@MattPendergraph Thank you. I've been on the fence on getting rogue vs rep fitness cage plus arms. Rep has a nice center attachment for lat pulldown/low cable row and of course is cheaper. But rogue has the option to buy the rhino squat drop in. So my question is... what caused you to choose rogue over any other cage? Also, do you like the 35 inch trolley in the cage? Are exercises smooth/easy doing bench/shoulder press?

    • @MattPendergraph
      @MattPendergraph  3 года назад

      @@Watertownchiro No problem!...for me...I personally knew Rogue would be an easy choice simply due to I know their quality...everything they make is top notch/over built, they are an American company (if that matters to you) and their customer service if fantastic....that being said....Rep Fitness is cheaper! (they were considerably cheaper at the time of my purchase, I think they have gone up since...so not quite sure how their prices compare to Rogue now)...I strongly considered Rep (I've heard nothing but great things and I have two of their benches and have nothing but good things to say about them!!)......all that being said....at the time of my purchase...Rep had NOTHING in stock...Rogue did...lol...that's pretty much what pushed me to just purchasing Rogue and going on (I was still limited on what I could pick with Rogue due to they were extremely low on stock)....I don't think you will go wrong with either...just keep in mind...Rep cosmetically won't be as "pretty" and they use 2.95x2.95 inch uprights/crossmembers....so if you plan on using anything Rogue on a Rep rack...attachments might fit slightly loose.
