“On Friday, December 24th 2021, at approx 2:36 am, while on uniformed marked patrol in the city of Fort Myers, Office Bottomley and Officer Lutz responded to the [redacted] in reference to criminal mischief.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with security personnel who stated a male, later identified as John, had kicked a propane patio heater to the ground. John was being held by security for the offices pending an investigation. Officers on scene made contact with [redacted] who is a security officer for the hotel. [redacted] stated the following:
[redacted} was sitting near the door outside the patio when he observed John running towards a propane patio heater located in the middle of the patio. [redacted] then observed John kick the heater to the ground and run southbound towards [redacted]. Did not observe John after he ran. A few minutes later [redacted] observed John on the east side of the property bear the retention pond. John started running towards [redacted] until [redacted] told him to stop and offered him coffee. John then became calm and walked inside the hotel with [redacted]. John stayed with [redacted] until officers arrived. [redacted] advised that the heater contained glass that shattered when it was kicked by John and that the connecting hose for the propane had snapped. [redacted] advised that he would like to press charges on behalf of the hotel.
Officer Bottomly placed John into restraints, searched him, then put him in his patrol vehicle. It was evident that John was extremely intoxicated as he had urinated on himself and was confused about the incident. John was too intoxicated to understand his constitutional rights and to provide a sworn statement. [redacted] provided a sworn statement of the above story, which was submitted to evidence . com. Officer Lutz then spoke to the overnight supervisor, identified as [redacted], who stated that she did not see the incident but would like to press charges on behalf of the hotel.”

this security guard does his job well barely even engaged w the kid after the cops arrived. Didnt even entertain his shocked expression when he was telling the officers what he did. Barely interacted with him at all which ultimately keeps the situation de escalated. A lot of security guards are out of line sometimes but in this situation i would have completely understood if they were shitting on him and acting unprofessional but they didnt. This shit must be so annoying for them bc ppl just come visit all the time and wreak havoc especially during spring break. Then to watch him act shocked when hes telling the cops what he did i would have been such an asshole to this kid! This is why i will never even try to become a cop or security guard i dont have the poise these guys do!

If it was me I'd be begging them to take me to jail and not call my parents I'd have got my ass whipped then and there in front of the cops hotel employees and guests but then again I wasn't living with my parents when I was old enough to drink I owned a 7 bedroom 4 bathroom house overlooking the river with a boat ramp into the river about 1/8 of a mile from my toy/horse barn a half hr boat ride to a campground by the dam call a taxi and we were in a college town bar crawling then float the river home we didn't have to start the boat just float and fish run the generator so the party lights were on so we could be seen if the game wardens were sneaking around

Blackout drinking is absolutely real. If you drink a whole lot in a very short amount of time and it overwhelms your brain you literally cannot remember what's going on from one minute to the next. I know because I've been there. I'm incredibly lucky I was never arrested, been seriously injured or seriously injured anyone else before I grew out of that terrible pattern of behaviour. Hopefully dude learns a valuable lesson from this 🙏

This kid is clearly under the influence of something. I was a correctional deputy for years, and I’ve booked a lot of impaired college students. Most would simply sober up and get released, but every once in a while we’d get one who would be like this. Blacked out drunk or out of their minds on drugs. Sad and scary at the same time.

Something similar happened to me once - decades ago now. It was terrifying. One minute I was with friends having fun at a restaurant/bar. Next thing I know, I’m standing on the front porch of a house with no clue where I was or how I got there. I could remember the entire evening up to one point, then it was blank. Thank GOD my friend came looking for me (with a police officer, as she was also very drunk). The story could’ve ended very badly. I was just lucky. Glad those days are long over, especially the way things are today. 😬

this reminds me of a time in my life when i drank way way too much when i did drink. i've got a story similar to this guy its a bit long but its worth the read i think.
i went to visit a friend at relatively small college in Connecticut and he was throwing a small party in his dorm room. the only alcohol available was hard liquor. i remember starting drinking, playing beer pong, but with shots of jack daniel's instead of beer, for about 45 minutes until i had ingested maybe 14 or 15 shots (a shot every 3 minutes) the last thing i remember was throwing a ping pong ball across the table. when i came to, it was 3 hours later, and i was laying on the floor of one of the bedrooms in the dorm room (dorm room was more of an apartment, but with no kitchen) wearing a different set of clothes completely, along with my winter jacket covered in vomit. i gathered myself, cleaned up a bit and went to join my friend and his room mates to smoke a blunt that they had just started. 15 minutes later, there was a loud knocking on the door - campus security, along with 2 girls from the girls dorms two floors below. they asked for everyone's school id's (of which i couldnt provide as i wasnt a student there) as the girls who were also having a party claimed that someone they had never seen came knocking at their door, barged into their room, started picking up personal framed photos, drinks, basically anything that was light enough to pick up easily - and started breaking them by throwing them at the walls and the ground, and then proceeded to run out of the dorm and into the night. needless to say, it was me who they were looking for, but since the girls never got a good view of me (and i had changed clothes), they could not prove it was me. needless to say campus security figured it was me, and the next morning escorted me to my car and i was told to never come back to their campus. that was in 2010. and i haven't drank since that day

I was once at a college/highschool party and this dude was selling a bag full of like 25 legit different pills and it was a bag full. I had seen one codeine pill n said fuck it gave dude $150. Whole fuckin time, next morning I woke up and outta curiosity looked all the pills up, bro 2/3 of the bag was rohypnol 😭😭 I was like bro what the actual fuck. I was never much of a pill head, I just knew some of my buddies HOYTEDD the pillys and plus a nice little codeine guy wvwry once n while is a HEATER.
