I've worked in the funeral industry for over 20 years and I've seen plenty of people who aren't cut out for the job. I can only hope this drunkard didn't just randomly started cremating people that'd be just an absolute nightmare. I'll say this to all the tightwad managers and funeral home owners. Make damn sure you collect all your keys, change the locks and alarm codes, and don't go issuing them out to every employee. Funeral directors only. If you have an ex-employee like this issue a no-trespass letter and send it to the cops, change your locks and alarm codes, you might think it's overkill but it's a small price to pay to prevent this type of nightmare.

When she asked him if was something to do with her he admitted that he was playing hide the sausage with the copses at the funeral home for a number of years. Because they were on ice he had become partial ;to that temperature. He told her that if she could take a cold shower he would be able to perform. For those that don't know - cremating a body without proper and prior authorization is a VERY serious offense in most states. I had my mother cremated and they wouldn't cremate her until my brother (who was six states away and unable to attend because of COVID) faced an authorization saying he agreed to the procedure.
Someone licensed and bonded must perform the procedure, and there have to be witnesses on behalf of the state (because of embalming chemicals).

I worked as a contractor at Service Corporation International. A very bland name for a company that owns and operates mortuaries, funeral homes and cemeteries literally all over the world. They probably own every funeral home wherever you live. They know that this business must be very family oriented, so when they buy a business, they will leave all the names of the previous owners, who many have run that funeral home/mortuary for generations. You have to look at the fine print to see that SCI is the owner. I don’t have anything bad to say about the company except they stifle competition. It was just weird. People who work around dead bodies and the grieving families have to have a special kind of personality.
My cousin lived in Las Cruses, NM and when her mother, my aunt, died the only cemetery that wasn’t owned by SCI was the Masonic Cemetery. My aunt is buried in the same cemetery as Pat Garrett, the Sheriff who killed Billie the Kid near Fort Sumner, NM. Las Cruses has a lot of history for such an out of the way place. It was at the northeastern most part of the Gadsden Purchase. So does New Mexico and the wars in Lincoln County, where Pat Garrett was Sheriff. . I lived in Clovis, NM, which is directly east of Fort Sumner, in the mid 1960s where I graduated from high school. I know this stuff bores some people to death (no pun intended), but I am almost obsessed with history.
