Something a lot of people mistake for a gluten sensitivity is the way wheat is processed, white or whole. In North America farmers can spray a desiccant on the crops before harvest to dry them out so they don't mold while in storage. This desiccant is highly toxic to us and not allowed in Europe. This is why many people who think they have a gluten sensitivity can travel to Europe and eat all the bread and pasta and not have any GI issues. If you have methylation issues and don't detox well, you're more likely going to suffer. I am in this boat. I was recently in Turkey and experienced this first hand. I was able to eat so many things I simply can't in Canada without any GI issues. The things companies are allowed to put in our food in North America is shocking.
My son suffered from severe eczema for years. We spent hours visiting dermatologists, sun tanning, trying creams, etc. We discovered food issues only after a functional medicine M.D. recommended a food sensitivity test. My son reacts to egg whites, yeast, onion, oats, and several other foods. As long as these are eliminated from his diet, his skin is flawless and he doesn’t itch. I believe in food sensitivity tests.
Thank you for posting! I have bad eczema inside my elbows that comes and goes. I’m vegan 🌱 no processed foods except I love pasta once a week and pizza once a week… interesting! May have to look at food allergies
I had those food sensitivities and allergies develop with peri menopause. Since it was in the middle of covid and no allergen it’s was open, my dr explained how to do the elimination diet and what signals and symptoms to look for in mild sensitivities up to major allergies. It’s been very helpful as now I no longer have to be afraid of new food situations. After seeing her, I found lots of help on Pinterest and here on RUclips. It’s not really for life threatening situations, but helps me not to get to that point.

I've become addicted to your channel...your videos are playing in my headphones all day as I go about my day especially when I workout..I'm going through perimenopause and I can't believe your generosity in sharing all this information for free with us.. thank you
Ground and fresh ginger are my best friends! Everyone lauds turmeric but i turn into a zombie when i use that product. Mustard powder is another of my allies. I have had to eliminate dairy, vegetable oil, white flour. Most pork products. I am pushing 61 have been working out pretty steady for 2 years + now and I'm seeing my certain areas of fat storage around my ab area. I am working on my nutrition and I have been adding better things in. If I'm doing any sweetners brown sugar in baking, real maple syrup and raw honey. I feel like I'm intoxicated on most of the sweetners so i just leave them alone. I LOVE fresh blueberries and a variety of fresh fruits just have to be mindful as to what i eat them with due to sugar crashes. And yes I do add FRESH ground flaxseed and chia seeds to my baking. Thank you for sharing your information and knowledge. I have found some answers to some of my issues.
After becoming gluten, soy and lactose sensitive I whole heartedly believe everything your saying is definitely the true facts! Thank You for sharing this information! Keep it up! I've changed to an organic clean eating diet without gluten soy and minimal dairy, lean meats, low carb veggies, (and very minimal sugar amounts) that are all organically grown. I take a probiotic very regularly and vitamin supplements and feel like a very healthy person.
Not many people know or talk about the chemicals in so called healthy foods like spinach, broccoli etc (salycilates) nuts, meats, cocao (amines) and Glutamates! Natural is NOT always better! Some people get headaches from amines, talking fast, dizziness, even seizures from salicylates just as in nitrates xx The most important thing for all of us to remember is THERE IS NO ONE DIET THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE...TRUST YOUR INTUITION XX It is great though to see an M.D talking about nutrition - Thankyou 💖
This was AWESOME. I LOVE THIS I’m so grateful to have found your Chanel. I had a partial hysterectomy 3 years ago. It sent me STRAIGHT into menopause even though I was advised it would not. I struggled terribly and was embarrassed to say anything as I was only 42 and feeling/experiencing things I had NEVER. Finally i went to a NEW GYN that understood what I was going through and started me on my better health journey. I’m doing SO MUCH better now thanks to him, prayer and videos Like this.. my gut health is better , I’m loosing weight,,, And my hormones are back on track 💪🏾💪🏾 I am now following you … this is awesome 👏🏾
Hang in there girl. You are not crazy or alone. It was Such a difficult time in my life. On top of all the crazy I had just lost my Mother a few months before the surgery,,,so I didn’t have a trusted female I felt confident enough to share what I was feeling… I COMPLETELY understand what your going through. Talk to your GYN and hopefully you can find another female who has had the same surgery. I will tell you since working out, eating healthy and the help of my GYN …. Got me back on track. I still struggle with a bit of sleeplessness ,,, but it’s NOTHING like it was. I’m feeling better and I have much MORE ENERGY than Ive ever had . Tell your GYN what’s happening and get counseling if you can. Your insurance will pay for it. It’s important not to silently suffer. I’ll be praying for you my sister🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 You will get through this… 💪🏾💪🏾 You are stronger than you think 😘😘
The same happened to me I had a complete hysterectomy, was never told what to do never given any duggestions about food or diet no hormone treatments or what to take naturally. I was never told I had to still see a gynecologist so I have not seen one since the Hysterectomy. I have been sufering all these years. I just turn 70 and I am still having issues! I get up in the night drench in sweat.I also had my gall bladder removed so now I have digestive issues, plus high blood sugar issues too. I need some help
@@NansGlobalKitchen I’m so sorry you’re still going through it. it’s just awful that they don’t tell us what could happen even if it dose not happen to ALL. I was hit from left field …. My poor family didn’t know what the heck was happening to me. Thank God my husband and kids are patient and is supporting me through this. Like I said, I’m finally doing much better. I still sleep hot but at least getting rest even if I wake up drenched. I am also feeling normal again and not like a raging Lunatic🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 For high blood sugar you can take Berberine. It’s Natural but all brands are not created equal. Thorne is one of the best brands. You can order on Amazon. My doctor also put me on the lowest grade of Prozac. When he first suggested it I cried … because I grew up ignorant to the stigmas given to people who use it. I have to say…. IT IS A GAME CHANGER. I feel much more normal…. The 8 hour window isn’t easy but the recipes are delicious and far nicer than the bland food I was eating before whilst loosing nothing for months! I love it!!
I follow some pretty smart (trained) health gurus and other sources that say farmed fish is inflammatory, that our fish for a healthy lifestyle and diet should be wild caught. If I can't find wild caught then I don't buy. Certain markets are getting better at recognizing this and meeting consumer demand for wild caught sources of fish. Thank goodness for Costco
I just found you online and I am trying to consume all of this amazing info as quickly as I can! You've already inspired me to make changes even though I'm traveling full time rn in Europe. I MUST get back on HRT. I stupidly weaned myself off of it because my PCP had concerns about cancer. Also, it was really expensive! (more than $100/3 months thru CostPlusDrugs) But now I see that my doctor was working with old, debunked information. I'm going to get back on HRT as soon as I can get an Rx filled overseas. I'm 65, in good health, yoga 6x/week, love to cycle and swim, and want to delay the "falling down" stage of life (as I call it) for as long as possible. Side notes: 1. You look amazing. Don't apologize for your body. :) 2. The view from your house is gorgeous! 3. REX!!! Totes adorbs.

You have to specify cane sugar from beet sugar and sugars that are naturally in fruits. There’s a difference. Also, what about lectins? I know from my experience lectins do a lot of damage and it’s helped my body to try to avoid foods that have lectins. Yet, not many doctors seem to know about them.
Whoa… fear mongering, I can’t believe someone would say that. 🤦♀️ And yes, seed oils (aka canola and other vegetable oils) are also inflammatory. Thank you for sharing this education. Sadly so many don’t want to hear it. They want a pill to fix things rather than putting in the work. Not everyone, of course but so many.
I love what you have to say and think it’s true and relevant. Humbly, 💜 I wish your videos were shorter and would cut to the chase a little more quickly. I don’t mean to be negative or gripe. It’s just my personal opinion.
Can you talk about Cancer? I have stage 3C ovarian cancer. Does your diet lower igf1? Have you seen Dr.Longo's studies on Cancer and nutrition?Thank you!
Thank you for consistently speaking to women's health, especially menopause. The conversation is egregiously omitted in the world of medicine. Yet wow - let's count the studies aimed at erectile disfunction! How can anyone argue with any of the information you are providing? Science deniers baffle me.
Adding more protein has hugely helped my blood sugar swings. Was able to fast almost 10 hrs for blood work today . Couldn’t do that in January. My readings for diabetes was high in January yet that still didn’t convince my dr. I couldn’t fast then do to blood sugar swings. Protein has helped , blood sugar still goes up if I have a small cheat.

Sorry this is so long..but I hope my story will help someone else...My husband and I are constantly finding out more and more that our bodies can't tolerate as we get older. Little did I know that you can develop allergies and not always born with them. My struggle started after I got my tubes tied after my second child. It started with severe abdominal pain with such severe diarrhea that I had to be put on in IV because I was so dehydrated I couldn't hardly even walk...they did test after test checked all my organs, gallbladder, ect..and long story short..it was eggs!! I had eaten eggs my whole life, never had a problem ..OMG..was I ever glad I figured that out on my own...next was severe headaches...again..went to doctors..test after test..they couldn't find anything..told me I was depressed..gave me anti-depressents...I told them NO..and long story short again..It was bananas!! Then from there I started journaling everything I ate and when I got a headache I looked back and boom!! Here is my list I found out was causing them....banana's, cinnamon, paprika, msg's, certain kinds of olive oils, soy anything, spices, red apples,(I can eat granny smiths) gluten, most wines, beer, and alcohol, smelly things like candles, deodorants, shampoo's, perfumes, colognes, detergents, (I can only use ALL free, fragrance free dryer sheets and no liquid softners at all!!) Bleach and chlorine are major triggers.(can't even have chlorinated water or Ice made with it) I now take a half of a Benadryl whenever I feel one coming on and it takes it away. I thought my food problems were over...but no...I started feeling super lethargic in my 30's and just couldn't function somedays...I was told I was Hypoglycemic(low blood sugar) so I gave up sugar started feeling a little better but still wasn't quiet right..long story short...it was gluten!! Again was so happy when I figured that out..I also found out that I was born with a prolapsed valve and some tiredness was coming from that...but nothing like what the gluten was doing...Other super weird allergies are blueberries and jalapenos....I don't know how or why but if I eat them I get a pain in my groan area and literally can't walk. I had help from a awesome lady who I was working for at the time who just happened to have a husband who had several food allergies and had gone to many many food allergy specialist all over the country and she taught me a really cool trick..she could tell from just looking at me and seeing the super dark circles around my eyes and seeing me walk all stooped over that I was having a food sensitivity issue and asked me if I had eaten anything out of the ordinary and at that time it just happened to be I had been making blueberry smoothies..(trying to be healthy) and so she actually had some in her fridge and she told me to stand still, put my hands in front of my chest palms up, put my head down and close my eyes.( I was like..ummm..okay??) Honest to God!! the next thing I remember is her husband catching me as I was falling over backwards!!! When she put those blueberries in my palms my body rejected them so badly it literally pushed me backwards trying to get away from them..the most bizarre feeling I had ever felt!!! That was life changing to me!! I picked her brain for the longest time and learned so much about what food allergies can do to you...I have helped countless people including my brother in law..they told him with his migraines was caused from missing a blood vessel in his neck and had him on all kinds of meds..NOPE..he was allergic to peanuts! My boys..my oldest can't eat pork he gets migrains..my youngest can't eat jalapenos..he can't move his right wrist, they tried to him he had gout...Nope!! My husband...anything corn!! His feet and legs swell up and his heart freaks out...dairy instantly plugs his nose up...I could go on and on...but I'm telling you all this in hopes it will help someone else find the correlation with maybe something that you've been having trouble with and a certain food. God Bless!!!
Ok off topic (please don’t be offended you look gorgeous!) But…I’m doing massive research on finding a plastic surgeon and I’m wondering if you had a lift? We’re the same age. Thanks for the amazing info!
Sufferer of lifelong endometriosis. Post menopause I have been having terrible joint pains, insane weight gain…and took your inflammation quiz (failed only because it was about last 24 hours and last 24 hours I was ‘whatever’ with my food intake) so all in all a disaster. My sister and friend ( same symptoms as me) independently sent me your link on TikTok. I took it as a sign, subscribed and bought your Galveston diet book on kindle. However I have one niggling doubt ‘ is this all marketing strategy to sell your book and services ‘. I bring this up only because of that comment about fear mongering .
❤ great videos. Love to hear more on us gluten free people that bodies reject a lot of foods anyway. I don’t eat immflamatory foods but when I keep up my exercise 5 days a week, my back or feet and legs become inflamed and then it’s hard to stay at my program. So how do you fight off inflammation from exercise? I drink lots of water, sleep, all the good supplements: vit d, etc. any ideas?
My dr switched me to types of exercise that don’t cause my cortisol levels to shoot up. This is an individual thing, but for me it meant switching from 2 dance classes per week to one plus water aerobics and yoga or Pilates. Also no running but instead doing interval walking ie with exercises in between the steps. I’m not yet as consistent as I’d like to be as I’ve had some unrelated health issues, but I do so enjoy moving my body in these other ways
Please slow down a little. I loved an interview you did about menopause and hrt and I believe you have lots more info to help. It's just way too fast. And what's with the tic toc filter? Please be real. Love the help you are giving. 😊
Once you stop eating the inflammatory items how long does it take the body to start to feel better? I’m in pain from my shoulders down to me feet and every joint between. I stopped drinking and don’t eat processed foods. Mostly clean foods
Cool! Wondering if this would be a good program for my healthy 80 year old mom/obviously way post menopause? She is going through grief from losing my stepdad. I think many recipes would be great and all the anti inflammatory foods has worked to trim her down and make her feel better. Can seniors do IF and are the macro suggestions different!?

I've become addicted to your channel...your videos are playing in my headphones all day as I go about my day especially when I workout..I'm going through perimenopause and I can't believe your generosity in sharing all this information for free with us.. thank you
nightshade foods, i.e. peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, potatoes. Additionally, Sugar, alcohol, wheat, processed foods and fried food.
Some people get headaches from amines, talking fast, dizziness, even seizures from salicylates just as in nitrates xx
The most important thing for all of us to remember is THERE IS NO ONE DIET THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE...TRUST YOUR INTUITION XX It is great though to see an M.D talking about nutrition - Thankyou 💖
You're so welcome!
You have been a life saver! Thank you ❤
This was AWESOME. I LOVE THIS
I’m so grateful to have found your Chanel.
I’m doing SO MUCH better now thanks to him, prayer and videos Like this..
my gut health is better , I’m loosing weight,,, And my hormones are back on track 💪🏾💪🏾
I am now following you … this is awesome 👏🏾
I am so glad it was helpful!
I’m in tears reading this because I’m going through it now. I’m so happy for you that you are doing better!
Hang in there girl. You are not crazy or alone. It was Such a difficult time in my life. On top of all the crazy I had just lost my Mother a few months before the surgery,,,so I didn’t have a trusted female I felt confident enough to share what I was feeling…
I COMPLETELY understand what your going through.
I’ll be praying for you my sister🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
You will get through this… 💪🏾💪🏾
You are stronger than you think 😘😘
I am also feeling normal again and not like a raging Lunatic🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
For high blood sugar you can take Berberine.
My family noticed the difference right away. I continue to research Natural ways to get my health on track and so far these things are working. I am even down 43 lbs since January 🙌🏾🙌🏾. The intermittent fasting, healthy eating and walking daily is helping me to take back mr life.
I wish you all the Best my dear. I’ll whisper a prayer for you . 😘😘 be well
I've learned a great deal from you. Thank you. I hope you will compile a list of nationwide menopause specialists.
Watching this from Trinidad 🇹🇹
Thank you for this great unfo. This is NOT fear mongering. This is TRUTH AND FACTS, which the pharmaceutical company's that makes $ off us dying, don't want us to know. THANK YOU DOC. BE WELL

I am menopausal and have rheumatoid arthritis. I am always open to suggestions to reduce inflammation. Thank you for you channel
Best of luck! Happy to help
Me too, dear. Arthritis is not fun.☹️
I’m glad I’m watching this video again. Just reminds me that I need to go low carb. That’s where I lost all my weight from the beginning 80 pounds later. Now 40 more to go. Thank you for this information
Totally love listening to you -- knowledgeable, authentic & funny. Also, brave. 💗
Since my last post - just to update I am now on day 11 of the diet and have now lost another two and a half pounds which makes a total of seven and a half pounds!
The 8 hour window isn’t easy but the recipes are delicious and far nicer than the bland food I was eating before whilst loosing nothing for months! I love it!!
You got this! Keep it up!
what diet are you on? thank you!

@@angelahodgetts107 thank you! Just subbed. Watching a few videos.
ttyÿttttttttttt
You are a God send. I am 59 and just joined the Galveston diet.
Welcome! Good luck on your journey. We are here for you!
I found you while I was looking for information about anti-inflammation. I had a PET scan recently and I lit up like a Christmas tree with inflammation. I have to believe I can reverse my situation.
You can!
👋 I eat grass fed beef - goat cheese - onions & garlic - eggs - bacon - kefir.
I do 18/6 feasted & I move my bod & do strength training with bands at home.
I’m feeling & looking fantastic
Thank you for the information. I struggle losing weight since being diagnosed with Hashimoto.
Thank you Doctor, you are quickly becoming my new favorite RUclipsr ❤
I have so much gratitude for your willingness to share based on you education, experience, and passions. I am a women's health NP in an oncology setting and have found your videos so valuable. Thank you! To borrow from Brene Brown please continue to be "awkward, brave and kind" as your content is important. (: Robin.
I absolutely feel love towards you for helping us out. I am struggling a bit. So grateful I was led to you! Blessings 🙏🏽❤️

Struggling along too. She’s a fountain of info and thru her Instagram and website as well as here has helped me find lots of helpful information
48 female lost 200 pounds naturally via cal deficit still need to lose 30 had a hysterectomy kept 1 ovary last year maintaining loss via calorie restriction & exercise very hard to lose any keep losing n gaining the same 4 pounds but having awful bloating! I’m constantly painful bloating cannot figure out why … or pinpoint which foods …Ty for this 💕 I eat extremely basic usually 1 ingredient foods I’m so lost as to the cause I really think it has to be food.
Have you ever studied oxalates. I started to eat a so called healthy diet and became terribly sick. After weeks of research oxalates were the culprit. Anything you can share is greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Krista!
Humans must choose between discipline or regret and most pick the latter 🤷♀️
Love love love your stuff.... sooo thankful I found you❤
I love what you have to say and think it’s true and relevant. Humbly, 💜 I wish your videos were shorter and would cut to the chase a little more quickly. I don’t mean to be negative or gripe. It’s just my personal opinion.
Noted! No offense taken! Check out our blogs at www.galvestondiet.com
No Doctor. I am a normal 53 post menopausal with some belly fat.
You look fantastic!
Thank you for the clarification of Omega 6! I was wondering why I had heard to cut back on it & didn't even know where it might be coming from!
Wow, I can not believe someone commented she's fear-mongering...wow!!!! They must eat cupcakes 🧁 for breakfast!!
I can’t believe they said should consult with a PHD. She is an MD, I think she knows how to research!
Lol Omgness I’m crying laughing lol
Lol
Thank you for all this useful information. And for that person who said you are fearmongering, get a reality check.
Can you talk about Cancer? I have stage 3C ovarian cancer. Does your diet lower igf1? Have you seen Dr.Longo's studies on Cancer and nutrition?Thank you!
Dr. Mary Claire thank you for your passion! So what to look for in an acceptable bread?
Thank you for consistently speaking to women's health, especially menopause. The conversation is egregiously omitted in the world of medicine. Yet wow - let's count the studies aimed at erectile disfunction!
How can anyone argue with any of the information you are providing? Science deniers baffle me.
Exactly. She is a wonderful advocate how fortunate are we. I appreciate your comment. Blessings ❤️
Beautiful sunset! Very helpful podcast. Thank you!
I have tried Stevia and it tastes terrible! I would consider trying Monk fruit
You are super informative! I'm shocked you don't have a million followers!
This information is very helpful. Thank you! I definitely learned a few things that will help me feed my body in a healthier way! ❤

Is honey ok? I like plain greek yogurt with berries and a drizzle of local honey. Also a teaspoon in hot tea with a little lemon is delicious. I'm trying to limit white sugar. Thank you!
I’m in the UK, 50 years old and could always lose weight in the past. I go to the gym 5 times a week and walk daily and always try to eat healthily. I am getting married on the 9 July and just can’t loose any weight which is especially around my stomach.
I joined the Galveston diet 5 days ago and have lost 5 pounds! I eat in the 8 hours and although I’m a picky eater the recipes are delicious and I feel great!

Good morning from Brooklyn, NY. I'm on the Eat for Your Blood Type diet and eat Non-GMO produce for over 30 years and it helps reduce inflammation. ❤
I thought that book was very interesting, I wish there was clinical studies inside the book but an eye opening awareness.
Your stretches and walking guidance are phenomenal. Your own core balance is so impressive and inspiring! I want to work toward that. Thank you!
Will buy your book! Much needed information for women. Love your work.

I would love to see a "day in the life" vlog style video from you. You are so fun and inspiring and have a great sense of humor and I'd love to just be a fly on the wall for a day and see how you make your daily choices. Thank you! I’m a newly diagnosed DM, hypothyroid, arthritic issues. My PCP messaged me and said to follow a low cholesterol and low carb diet. My Endocrinologist gave a prescription for metformin and said I should lose a few pounds. I’m overwhelmed to say the least. I’m trying to learn as much as I can , but I’m afraid to eat the things that will raise my sugar levels more….😢
I’m going to give this a try.
I am between keto, carnivore, with vegetables and berries . Processed foods out. Good healthy fats , seeds and nuts. Protein powders for smoothies. With ground flax, chia and psyhillum husk ? For Fiber.
Just pre ordered your new book 📚 on menopause! Still my own advocate …..fighting for a decade and still going. I aint taken drs rejecting me …..I have almost every menopause symptom in the book ……electrical shocks , tingly fingers , getting dry everywhere, cold and hot as if thyroid is off but on meds 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️, itching skin, muscle cramps though I take loads of magnesium 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️, 30 plus pounds extra in weight gain HAVENT CHANGED ANYTHING……😢😢😢……INSOMNIA, itching ears , bleeding gums every night I brush my teeth, more cavities 🤦♀️🤦♀️, seeing my dental hygienist I think every 3 months then every 6 months what it use to be. Had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out in perimenopause. Cavities popping up like crazy. Bladder problems driving me crazy . 🤯🤯🤯
I greatly appreciate all that you do to keep us informed and educated. But there is so much conflicting information. I’m speaking of other physicians on RUclips, etc that promote keto and eating all the bacon and meats like that. How are we supposed to know what is right and what is wrong?
Thank you for your love of healing❤🎉
That person who said you were fear mongering is likely a troll for the food industry making unhealthy, addictive foods that are killing people.. Karma to them. You look AMAZING! Whatever you're doing, I'm on it. 🎉🙏
Is sour dough different and a better choice.
Im curious Doctor if you have any research on vegan diet for menopause with B12 and D3 supplements?
Are you giving the list or are we suppose to give you a list?

Which cause inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis patients?
Thank you for all your'e doing.. are soybeans really inflammatory?
I eat a low sugar, low carb diet and if I do have a sugar binge I get terrible leg and foot cramps every time x
No fun!
Thanks for all this great info! BTW, beautiful sunset!
If I don’t have access to fresh lentils and beans, can I use canned lentils instead?
Once you stop eating the inflammatory items how long does it take the body to start to feel better? I’m in pain from my shoulders down to me feet and every joint between. I stopped drinking and don’t eat processed foods. Mostly clean foods
So, is whole wheat/grain inflammatory?
