This man was SO creative. I mean DAMN! He knew when to give the others their moment. YET he was the center of attraction. A very special talent..... Early in this video you could see David's trademark different eyes. They were as rare as he was!!!
+Zidders Roofurry i know she wasnt on the classic records and only joined his band later, but many of these later live versions of bowie classics are my favorites by him and she is an undeniably great funky bassist. full respeck for her rock on Gail
Yeah , that is good you mention that, it's special ,original and good again. He is indeed quite focussed there ! And: what do you think: very musical as well! Good arrangement and timing, the band ! Yeah, Pro ! Very!
He almost ALWAYS adds interesting arrangements to his songs live, never content just the play the hits. He is alive when he's live, a growing, changing, empowered performer of artistic perfection. Epic.
this is absolutely mindblowing, the vocals, the groove, the fun, the passion... plus that bowie thing that i have no clue what it is... but absolutely shakes your soul!
My FAVORITE of ALL TIME 💕 I JUST LOVE DAVID BOWIE.. The Greatest Concert's I've ever seen and Danced my ass off the whole night, with this Beautiful Woman, I'd been going out with; in the summer of 1983.. she was from Staten Island, New York.. I should have Married her.. so Lauren Radigan, if you're reading this..I never stopped Loving you
You are SO right, my friend...I have don't know what "the Bowie thing" is either, but I don't need to...!! All I need to know is that watching his videos takes me to a better place...😄😍
Thank you Stevie Ray Vaughan for taking this song to the next level and absolutely genius choice by David to have someone like Stevie to work with him for this album. Absolutely my favorite Bowie album!!!!
I never met him, never saw him in concert, but now that he is gone I can't help but cry when I see him in action. Seriously, why am I actually crying. It's crazy. #sosad
Same. I'm really not sure why this is. And this is 2022, so 6 years later...? I've always liked his music, but never watched an interview with him or anything, until now. Only now have I realised who we have lost and it actually hurts. There are other great musicians and/or great actors, but he transcends that somehow - all great music aside, something about David Bowie being the person he was touches the heart.
@jacques suchet Lucky you! Wish I had seen him live... Norway...wait a minute, was that when someone threw a lollipop at him and hit his eye..? Poor David...!
@jacques suchet Yeah right, the lollipop incident was almost a decade later, I lookd it up. Frisbee to the head, lollipop in the eye...dangerous job he had, LOL But it seems he was cool about it all. Just like in Germany, he continued the concert in Norway as well - after some initial swearing, he announced the concert might take a bit longer and just carried on. No drama, except the one he presented to his audience for entertainment purposes...
I always love his talent and ability to reinvent his look and nail each one so perfectly. He was also so cool in each of them. I love all his music. He will always be sorely missed.😢😢❤❤
Serious Moonlight Tour | Hershey PA.| 8/29/1983 | I felt like the luckiest girl alive to be so close to the stage, just 4 people deep. And yes, I will admit to seriously fantasizing that he was singing to and for, only me! Ah the imagination of a teenager. His voice and lyrics touched my soul in a way that can never be achieved by anyone else. I miss him so very much. I still haven't been able to listen to his final album.
+Nar Comic Underworld ............. one 100 per cent agree - you are right to say a man - not only a great artist - ... as an example - i notice that he smiles a lot - and a man who smiles a lot - is a man whos got a lot to give ...
I remember the first time I saw the video for this as a kid, I dropped my toys and couldnt stop listening. I grew up with David Bowie but didnt have a clue what is was all about really but I found out. Beautiful.
I've noticed this too...Ashes to Ashes at the Beeb, Under Pressure with Annie Lennox, and this amazing video. His live shows around 2000 were (insert superlatives here)...always love you!!!
What a great voice, dresser and his hair styles, awesome! I watch videos of my favorite musicians who are gone, and think, what would have been if they were still here. Just like I have been doing every day, throughout the day at different times, about my dad who died,12/23/22. It's taking a toll on my health.
What a wonderful person this man was , I can clearly see his humbleness, I have listened to his music for years , and saw him in concert back when I was in my very early twenties and again a few years after, I'm now 62 years of age , I remembered when I first heard lady stardust and moonage daydream I use to trip out on the music and lyrics , I grew up in L.,. A . EL SERENO to be exact and my friends and I use to kick back and listen to his music over and over I am Mexican and everybody use to trip out because everybody else was into Disco and songs they played on the radio , and now when I listen to his music it brings tears to my eyes because everything back then was so simple, I don't know why im saying all of this I just wanted to share that with whoever reads this, thank you Mr. David Bowie for all of the great music you left behind, R. I.P my brother, I am the Mexicali kid, I now kick it in Mexicali b.c. Mexico and still to this day listen to all of your music. Adios everyone and thank you for your time
I loved watching this and feeling like I was watching the 'real David Bowie... hiding behind nothing..and he has never sang this song so great!!!! Love him I do feel sad, as if I really knew him.. :(
He looks so young. We, I wanted him to sing Let's dance at 89 years old the same vividness as this upload not at 69 when he suddenly stopped singing and unfortunately breathing as well. He will be young forever in our memory.
His band in this period was insanely tight! And he was a god!
Best formation!
voice made in heaven
My God.............................................................. Mr. Dave Bowie............................................................
This man was SO creative. I mean DAMN! He knew when to give the others their moment. YET he was the center of attraction. A very special talent..... Early in this video you could see David's trademark different eyes. They were as rare as he was!!!
For me Bowie is a study for the rest of my lyfe
David you and your music reminds me of best times of my life love ya brother always BillyDuane
Guys like you should live forever God call you to sing for Him He wants to hear the good guys ding keep it up
Haunting intro slant on his classic song. True Bowie style, keeping it different.
Lo.mejor de lo mejor que no muera la música de éstos maestros
I love the way he starts this song slow, and then effortlesly moves over the uptempo section. Brilliant!
También yo siento lo mismo,la intro. la repito hasta cinco veces, que voz tan poderosa !!
Oh man, this is just an exquisite performance. Living on planet earth
is not the same without you David.
David Bowie like a fine wine. Better and better and better with age...RIP DB
Agree
I agree

Gail Ann Dorsey, besides being beautiful, is the heart of this song. Great bass beat and vocals
+John A This. So much this. I hope she's doing OK because he meant so much to her and her career.
+Zidders Roofurry i know she wasnt on the classic records and only joined his band later, but many of these later live versions of bowie classics are my favorites by him and she is an undeniably great funky bassist. full respeck for her rock on Gail
Her song "Beautiful" about Bowie makes me seriously cry
Skunk Anansi
Quién es el guitarrista
what a powerful voice, it´s incredible! He´s 55 years old here and already had done a full concert, this song was one of the bonus songs. WOW!
wow!
Tanssi
55 is not old at all! He would have been going into his late 70s for sure like Jagger had he lived
the best version where there's the most exciting guitars solo ever ...
This shows David Bowie at his best. OH those vocal, heart and energy.....simply having fun!
+James X I was there ... and can,t yet realise how lucky I were!

RIP Beautiful man !
His voice, omg. I love him forever
Love the way he's changed his vocal phrasing on this classic!!
Yeah so great
Yeah , that is good you mention that, it's special ,original and good again.
He is indeed quite focussed there ! And: what do you think: very musical as well! Good arrangement and timing, the band !
Yeah, Pro ! Very!
Yah he is so natural with his phrasing and melodies on this version. David was a chameleon.

The whole band is having so much fun.
R.I.P. David Bowie.. Hope that you and Stevie Ray Vaughn make great music in heaven.
There are very few gifted, genius, and beloved people that pass this way. Thank you, Mr. Bowie.
2024 I’m still here for this!!!❤❤❤❤❤
He almost ALWAYS adds interesting arrangements to his songs live, never content just the play the hits. He is alive when he's live, a growing, changing, empowered performer of artistic perfection. Epic.
In 8 years no one said how good your observation on this one is? I agree with you 100%
It's amazing right? We don't deserve him

Dieu BOWIE a rejoint les étoiles... 🌟⭐🌟🌌
40 years ago, me and my girl , two daughters and one grandson later.
Fck I'm old but experienced the best time the universe had to offer.

My favorite live Bowie performance. Awesome groove
Completely Agree ... I was so inspired I changed Heroes on my YT Channel ... so many kind Bowie Fans encouraged me ... have a great day!
1983
Not mine (and I love Bowie). .He is forcing performer mode in this performance…he sounds great but I think he’d rather be somewhere else.
GENIUS - LEGEND.... What else?
Coolest
I'm struggling to think what I was doing in 2002 that was more important than going to this concert.
Coughing up thermite
SingaporeSkater Brian adams

?
Exactly! But when a band has been around for an extended period of time, the sense of urgency is not the same as 30 years ago. Peace. DCP
SingaporeSkater I was being born lol
This version of the song is really amazing! Better than ever !
UNREAL. Bowie, you were one of a kind. Forever a fan!
So sad today... rest in peace beloved David. Thank you for your life, creativity and passion for your art... your legacy of music stands for the ages

It is 2024 and i still mis you. David Bowie, a true heroe. ❤
Miss him, miss him.
No soy un "super-fan" de Bowie pero esta actuación acaba de ponerme la carne de gallina.
What a voice! What a class act on stage, and off. I will miss you, David. Rest in peace.
And the band is doing what great bands do. JAM
This performance is Ahhhmazing! He's getting his life! I love how he's having a really good time. He's totally into it. Legend. 💖

it's comforting all the comments about David. I'm glad I'm not the only one that is still devastated
I'm here every day.
I'm still devastated 😬

More than agree you should LOVE.
Yes, I think so too! I also love it.
Stunning performance. That bass line will be in my head for days...
I find myself singing along every time I hear this song
Too loved to merely be gone. He's simply moved onto another form. With us, Starman, minds blow, you have simply grown to outer space.
He really seem to hit his stride in his late 40's/early 50's - he seems to be genuinely enjoying himself in these later years. So wonderful to see!
golden years
good one!
I would be enjoying myself too 😂 "I'm David fukin Bowie." legend
I've noticed this too...Ashes to Ashes at the Beeb, Under Pressure with Annie Lennox, and this amazing video. His live shows around 2000 were (insert superlatives here)...always love you!!!

an absolute top version of this song!
...i find it to be a real privilege to have been living during the same era of this Legend.
Cannot believe David Bowie was actually 55 at this gig - he looks no more than 40. He's so full of life and joy. Amazing to watch!
One of my All time favourite songs of all time absolutely brilliant live WOW what a legendary singer RIP David Bowie
Party time 🕺🏼💃🏼. Thanks DB

My thoughts exactly!

One of the coolest, conflicted, talented people to ever walk the planet.
I don't think he worked a day in his life, because he had so much fun and got paid. Rest in peace Starman
