    WoW & wonderful. So thankful my daughter recommended your video! I am a very fit 76.5 year old but 3 wk ago sciatic pain hit me for the very first time and continues.....Did these with you this morning after the pain stopped and did all and will continue. Very grateful and thankful for your video.

    Very good...i have great pain in back and doctors advised if needed shall go MRI and surgery... But I have followed this every morning... with your guidance for 2months and feel relaxed and comfortable and no pain as like earlier... Thank you God.. Now I have right hand swellings or muscle pain.. Give me some exercise..

    I am 75 and have piriformis syndrome. Since I found your exercises for spasms l have not had to take muscle relaxants for pain. I am so glad I found you and your exercises. Keep up the good work‼️You helped me tremendously. Thanks a million‼️Harriet Gold Tecktiel

    Jennifer- I really appreciate your video demonstrating at home simple exercises to do for sciatic pain and stretching the piriformis muscle. I drive most of the day for work and sit for long hours. When the muscles get tight or aggravated I'll look for different techniques to stretch the muscle. I'll do another set tomorrow and hopefully by the end of the week the pain will go away...it usually does after I've done some stretching. Thanks again for sharing

    Jennifer, thank you very much, I have a lady here with PS in my Pilates class and I geared most of the Pilates to Joan and she is very happy with that, the rest of the class was also happy that Joan can now relieve the pain at home and in the class, she comes because she is with people and it motivates her more. Although some normal Pilate moves helped, like the single leg stretches. Thank you Jennifer, I am glad you are on You Tube.
    I also have a lady ( Sue) who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, and most of the tumor has been removed and is growing again. What is happening is that her brain is not sending the correct messages to her right leg, and I have been gearing the Pilates to a lot of leg raises on the big ball, small ball and a lot of ankle movements plank leg raises, as with Joan. She says she doesn't know what to do with out Pilates as it helps her to get on with life. I thought maybe you may know of something else in Pilates that could help.

      I would do most of the workout in neutral spine, because sciatic pain comes from a variety of things some of the exercises may work and some may not. Just modify what you need to and focus on strengthening the deep stabilizers, stretching the psoas, and balancing the pelvis.

    I had a spinal fusion, just below the waist, back in 2013. Since then, an adhesion bonded the scar tissue with one of my muscles. A few months ago, that tore apart. As it did, I could tell that it was about 3" wide and long, and about 1/4" thick. It has been slowly healing. Even so, this injury aggravated nerves down to my feet. This would make my ankles and feet very stiff, much of the day. These stretches helped tremendously. That you!

    Thank you very much Jennifer! I knew I will have pain from sciatic nerve again before I went to bed, so I took muscle relaxant. But it didn't work and I woke up in agony again. Around lunch time, I found this video, did the stretches and voila, I can actually walk sans pain and even turn around. I'm 34 years old and after a car accident that hurt my back and sciatica has gotten worse since then. So knowing this will help, and it does, it's a huge relief.

      Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to uncover how to relieve sciatica try Jaffacter Sciatica Remedy Coach (just google it ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cousin got excellent results with it.

    Thank You- well performed and explained. Good variety of exercises. My sciatica is hitting my knees hard-these help as well as nerve flossing. I would add to keep the foot dorsiflexed as you lift to stretch the hamstring and then extend and flex 2-3 x bf lowering. This gives stretch and flosses sciatic nerve.

    I went to chiropractor Monday morning to get my left side lower back pain too. I feel pretty good after my back feeling better... I feel little pain today.. I got up and walked around little bit in the house.. I felt little better after I lay down and strength little bit.. My back sometime when it's come and go sometime.. I take easy with my body to make sure I'm not re injury my muscles.. I do have a muscle spasms ... I doing better now my mother taught me to be careful with my back .

    At what stage after a ruptured disc can you do these exercises? I have never had so much pain in my life as with the sciatic nerve effecting my lower back, butt and left leg.
    I hate been a couch potato.
    I tried some mild exercises but if I stand up after one min the nerve kicks back in and I have to lay down again.
    Also can I do some recovery in the swimming pool?

    This is the best! Not only did I get relief of pain but also got those strength building exercises which increased the relief somehow. This is day 3 of a piriformis episode. Some spasm has developed in my back on the affected side so the bridge is not possible but it will be soon.

    Good morring ! Today's is my third week with severs pain .i did some exercise but it didn't helps so from now on I will follow your way .i know I hurt my back working or doing man work moving the shingle to finish the roof of my shaed room. I am over 62andup

    Thank you Jennifer. This is a great series of exercises - almost everything my PT is telling me to do to stabilize my pelvis and core in order to overcome meniscus tears for which I had stem cell injections a couple of months ago. Will do this routine now. Many thans.

    Thanks a lot Jennifer. It definitely helps. Pls advise if the breathing is critical to the exercise. I mean inhaling and exhaling timing during the stretches.

      +Jennifer Adolfs my pain is so bad, my foot is tingling like its asleep acompanied with a pain from my hip down the leg to the foot. will doing these regularly help or is it too far gone.

      It's very important to keep your pelvis in neutral while doing the stretches, specifically hamstring stretches while lying down. You will want to treat the pain first, ice, rest, anti-inflammatories or whatever the dr. recommends. The prone lying (belly down) back extensions helped me out of the pain. That may be all you can do to start with.

    The Karma Sutra also can help, especially an inverted wheel barrow, but be careful and breathe deeply.

    Sciatic pain comes from pressure on the disc and nerve FROM the rest of the body. It is not isolated in the back or spine. If someone wants to remove the pressure from the disc or nerve they need to fix their posture by working on their muscle system. Beware of chiropractic because it can easily make the problem a whole lot worse or rupture the disc. The best conservative approach is deep release muscle work and focus on the leg muscles to balance the pelvis and release the compressed spine.

      There are several factors in relieving sciatica pain quickly. One place I found that succeeds in merging these is the Barneys Back Aid (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible plan i've heard of. look at all the awesome info .

    The exercises are great - but, please use a tripod - the shaky camera is a bit unsettling

    Very informative and useful. Can it be done during recovery from sciatica pain which is about 10 days old. Posture seems to be similar to yoga. One thing I like to suggest to always sit while lying down on back always turn right and with the help of right elbow.

      I would control the pain first and then just add a couple exercises at a time, ease into them slowly. Best to you!

    Any suggestions to get it off foam cycle ? I’ve had this over a month- gone to Chiro, acupuncture, massage, yet when I try to do these stretches as gently as possible the sciatica just fires up. Very painful.
