Also I would recommend going over to Vsplanet.com and get signed up to the forum there. If you’ve never heard of this it’s a place where there are a few thousand people who are still using the vs machines and there’s a ton of help and resources to keep these machines running.

..... and she makes it look so easy. Had mine 10 years + and I'm still finding out things it can do, that I never knew before. One thing which is a minor gripe, you can't actually see the waveforms for tracks, whilst it is playing the track. Note in the demo, she stops the track to show the waveforms.
I feel you man! That's exactly why I bought the BOSS-1600CD back then in 2005. Also because I didn't have the extra 1500$ - 2000$ (Canadian) to buy the VS-2400, which really sucked considering everything that the VS could do. But the BR-1600CD was in fact a better option than the VS-1680 as it came out later and it had a lot more features that made it closer to the newer VS. It was the high-end product of the BOSS BR family. But the VS were made more robust versus the plastic that they used for the BR series.

i adored my 1680, and those recordings still hold up today
