- Ripchord is a free VST plugin (for both Windows & MacOSX) that literally breaks music theory. A follow content creator by the name of Musician Paradise created some soulful chord progressions for free! It's easy to use & works in all DAWS (except Reason for now). You may have a problem, it's a VST3 and I don't think MPC Beats can use that format (not without a converter plugin)

Yessir! Thanks for reviewing this Ave. I’ve had Ripchord since it first came out, but, being a keyboard player, I wasn’t quite sold on it. The Musician’s Paradise link will definitely give me an opportunity to experiment more with it. 💯
How do you use this in Ableton Live 11? It found the plugin, but I can't get a peep out of it!
@@nicerperson1 It’s only a MIDI effect, not a plug-in or romper loaded with sounds. I use LPX & Akai Software/MPC Beats. I wish I could help ya’ more.
RipChord is nice. I should have it years ago but I work almost 100% in maschine. But now I'm using it in Maschine via FL using FL as a plug. Made a template so it up and ready to go with kontakt. Works flawlessly

Wish Force, Maschine+ or MPC live had something this comprehensive/good for chords built in. What a great free vst though!
Dude…All of Akai based groove boxes have access to these same chords😂. Not to mention built-in A.I.
@@AveMcree confused the context menu vst list with chord progressions I think, its late here in Aus and I'm bleary eyed! 😂(def need to reaquaint myself with the chords feature on force)
I work in Maschine too but FL studio is always good to have. I run it as a vst inside of maschine whenever it's something I can't do in maschine.
@@AveMcree I have been having quite a difficult time trying to get my MPC to work like this... in Logic all I have to do is open the Midi FX... just cannot figure out how to do it in the MPC... I know it maybe frustrating answering questions that seem so basic when you already have the answers... but I do not (Be Kind)

Been using it for a year, the only midi plugin that I know that actually outputs chords onto another midi track and not single notes💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

Seems like a cool plugin and have been giving it a go but my Novation Launchkeys already has this ability to play chords with one finger. I still think ppl should still learn music theory and learn to play the chords.
The Novation launch keys don’t play m7add11th or other fancy chord well fyi
@@AveMcree The Novation can do any chord with one finger. Play the chord press the chord button and it saved I use Bitwig and it has a beast of a chord maker module that's killer...

This plugin looks like a better alternative to CHORDZ which is also free music theory helper plugin!!
How do you use Ripchord with FL Plug-ins like Harmor which don't have a Wrapper with midi routing settings???
Hey really appreciate this video. Followed all the directions. Installed Ripchord using FL studio20 . Was able to locate the VST plug-in but am not able to sync it with any of the other plug-ins.. as you have.i hit the cogwheel and so forth. So at the input and output point I'm having issues with getting any sounds or linking with any other plugin

Bro if you check your midi settings. There you can also set out/ in port.
Put it on same port.

How does it work?
I have Ripchord in FL Studio, there I also did the input/output thing, loaded the presets. Works so far ..but how do I get it to work like in the video, that I can use other plugins? My plugins have only the "plug icon" and the "wrench", with me missing in each plugin, the "plug / gear" icon accordingly I can not make the MIDI settings for output.
It’s like chord mode on kontrol.
Yo brotha Mcree, can you do this tutorial in MPC beats. I got ripchord connected in MPC beats and I can see that when I play my keyboard there is outputs lighting up on the screen but I'm not getting any sound.
Big problem I use fl studio and I put them both on 3 like yours was and I made sure it was right and even had a preset for ripchord and it isn’t working
Dope plugin but I need a little help bro. I installed everything down to the T. I'm getting sound but it doesn't play the chords just one single note. I have the presets in and everything. Any help would be appreciated

rip indeed. insertpizhere did this with midiChords in december of 2011 (yes, over 10 years ago). it's free and looks pretty, so you can't complain. but credit where credit is due for the idea.
please help me out here, it does not show the section for input port when i try to "connect" to other sounds

mine isnt connecting to synths, its not giving me an options to put input 1 on there, im guessing its cause the way there bundles may be set up🤔

@@gueyconqueso6662 did you guys not see he has the chord progressions for the MPC too? Ripchord is a VST3 plugin. So, it’s not compatible with the MPC software.

Can one use Ripchord with a sound sample rather than a plugin?
If you are refering using it as a trigger yes if you set it up and depends on your DAW that you are using for your setup.
