  • There are many leading midi generators for chord progressions, like Scaler 2, Captain Epic, InstaChord, Hook Pad, Klimper and Chordjam, but Ripchord from Trackbout stands our as a simple idea with a deep impact on the production world, because it's presets offer chord sets to non-musicians. It you don't play an instrument and have no music theory training, this "1 finger" approach is really cool.
What's driving it's cult-like following are producers and DJs who know what they hear, know what sounds good, but need chord progressions. Sometime these creators aren't even using a keyboard, but rather a pad device like an MPC or Machine. And what better way than to access the chords of popular songs as a starting point? And cudo's to Musicians Paradise youtube channel for making popular presets available for free to download!
In this video, I'll run through the basics, explain how the preset chord sets are a game changer, and tackle alternative sources for midi songs and building more presets. It's both a tutorial and an extrapolation of the cult-like adoption of ripchord #generativemidi #logicpro #scaler2 #presets #chordprogressions

    Hi great video!
question why would you wanna do the scaler 2 part and export it into midi into ripcord couldn't you just bind incoming notes to chord trigger and play around like that?

I'm not sure I understand. I would use Scaler 2 - or - Ripcord to generate midi chords but not both.
