    Hi Dr. Thank you for posting this. I am now 4.5 months post partum and have lost so much hair that I can barely style it anymore. No matter which way I style it the bald spots are visible. I had never given hair loss a thought. It was never something that afflicted me and I simply wasn’t familiar with the subject. When my hair began falling out it was such a huge crash course in all things “hair loss” and I felt so lost and helpless. It’s been very stressful, embarrassing, scary, etc. To see the amount of hair I end up with in my hands during a shower or during styling is shocking to me. Every day I see it and I think, “Today is going to be the day... today is the day where it all falls out for good and I will be left completely bald.” And I imagine the stress that it’s causing is only exacerbating the problem. I sat down tonight in tears and thought I’d look for some help on RUclips and your video has brought me a lot of comfort. Thanks so much. All the best!

      @@MoonInVirgoI’m at almost 4 months postpartum and my hair shedding began a month ago. Obviously the shedding has been crazy and alarming all this while but the past few days have been especially bad just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse. When did hair loss stop for you? My hair texture is also matted especially after washing it and my hair just keeps shedding all day, everyday. The only way for me to not think about it (as if) is by tying it up once dry into a loose bun. I can’t imagine my hair ever getting back to its original state at this rate.

    • @MoonInVirgo
      @MoonInVirgo 8 месяцев назад

      @@drcpate Have you had COVID recently? I had a mix of postpartum and COVID hair loss. I was almost completely bald around my hairline. And I would do the same thing.. I’d wash it and pin it up in a bun or piggy tail buns. It’s all grown back now! I’m not sure exactly when it stopped but don’t panic, it does stop and your hair will grow back. Also have blood work done to check and make sure you don’t have any deficiencies. I also was anemic with an iron deficiency and a vit D deficiency. I take vitamins for those and it’s helped a lot too. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I know how hard it can be when your emotions are still all over the place after giving birth. But it will grow back. I’m not a patient person so it was hard to wait for it to all grow back in. Lol

    Hi there! I’ve been trying new north controls for about a year and a half now. I also in the middle of that was told that I was no longer producing estrogen (which proved to not be true). However, while listening to my doctor, I started talking oral estrogen as directed. However, when I found out that my birth control I was on was to blame for the low estrogen. Long story short, I now have noticed so much hair loss. I’m not breastfeeding, but have questions about rogaine. 1. Can I put it all over my head? 2. Will my current hair fall out? 3. Will the hair that I do grow while using rogaine fall out if I were to stop using considering this wasn’t an underlying issue prior to hair loss? Thanks DrDray!

    During my PP period I was breastfeeding & had steroid injections in my scalp from my neurologist (approx. 30 shots) for temporal neuralgia. I was warned I "could" lose hair...and oh boy, did I!!!! I'm wondering....is that a scarring hair loss? My hair is still falling out and I had bald spots throughout (2.5 years later) due to graduate school and nursing in the ICU during these times has totally wrecked havoc on my stress levels. Is there hope for my hair to regrow, or could I be suffering from scarring due to the injections?
