Guys I’m very interested on hearing your thoughts on COPPA ad the FTA and what your going to do, ie mark your vids as aim for kids but then in January loose all comments on vids and them not be searchable, and also90% of ad revenue gone, it’s a sad time for our hobby to be honest as well as many others..

That nails it. Of course - Nate's laughs are pretty contagious too. I got so carried away with the racing that I forgot about just having fun. They've made having fun more important to me, than tweaking it ten more times. I'd love to race again, but would probably lose track of the fun again.

Back in the day I used to watch motorcross races at that spot.
Also that truck has the ability to easily control your balance in mid air with throttle and brake if you need to raise or lower the nose.
Did Abby do that many cartwheels when she used to baton twirl? 🤔

I've been in the hobby since the early 80's with Associated 10/12 scale carpet racers and Tamiya buggies. We use to run them also on the hanger floor's at Dyess AFB when they were empty, so in a nut shell this hobby has come along ways, still have my original car's. I'm now retired and still tinker with them. So keep making good videos!

X-max is a phenomenal truck. But guys, the audiovisual quality of your vides has improved a lot. I mean they have always been great and fun and provided valuable reviews. But now they are audiovisually speaking much better.

I'm so glad you guys got this truck and I've thoroughly enjoyed the week so far watching you guys have tons of fun with this amazing rig. When I would see the Hawaiian body on their other models, I really only saw pictures and wasn't a huge fan honestly but seeing it on your rig, it's definitely growing on me and I think it looks a lot better than the orange body I have. Enjoy and I can't wait until tomorrow to see what you guys will do next!

The esc's can go out fairly quick in water and excessive bashing .. I recommend the max 6 or max 5 setup with mod 1.5 gears after she poops out on ya and you'll see an all new monster! I run a max 6 esc with the stock motor which is holding strong! And the esc stays nice and cool for what I do with it. I'm not much for Traxxas either but the xmaxx is Soo much fun nice video guys it's always nice to see couples into the hobby together. Thanks again guys! 👍🏻
It's not always easy for bashers to get use to a track. You quickly realize it's more about control and timing and not so much about speed. That said it really is easier to drive from the driver stand. Also you should always do several slow laps first to get familiar with the track layout and find the lines that work best for the truck setup. You might also find it's best to first practice without the camera on, much easier to drive when you don't have a video record of your mistakes. Love the ground vehicles maybe next spring some on road cars and a few cones for corner markers and a stop watch.
Abby, I don't think I could 'Cart Wheel' that Max any better, even if I tried...You got that, down pat!!!

It seems to be very stable for the size of it. The weight seems distributed well. It handles the jumps like a champ. Ok who drives better. Nate seems to have locked in truck but Abby has way more style and is just fun to watch.

Nate, Abby next time you go to that track, use that drivers stand that was there. It will make the driving around the track much easier. Makes it easier to see the truck across the whole track. Maybe a XMaxx vs Kraton race is needed. :-)

Nate, it's hard to believe Abby actually let you drive her truck! Did you use a crow bar or maybe a little C4 to get the transmitter out of her hands?
I loved all 3 Xmaxx rigs I have owned but I am very curious of what Arrma will be releasing. They make amazing rigs also
Based on the background & structures, I think that location used to have a dirt bike track about 20 years ago. Looks like you were having a blast though.
That looks like it was a lot of fun!! I loved the "hoodcam" and aerial shots, too! How much drive time do you get on those batteries?
From reading the comments there are some owners of this beast out there, but Golly Gosh Darn Gee Whiz. A thousand dollar truck that doesn't include batteries or controller, and a single battery costs more than three of the trucks I bought new did. and those came with controllers and batteries.
So I definitely have to enjoy this one vicariously.
Thanks Nate and Abby for the show. I was amazed by the twirling and pirouetting (is that a word), and triple axles, and multiple forward and backward sommersaults (is that a word).
What will Abby think of next.
Nate - You need to work on those trick moves. I know - you just didn't want to break Abby's truck.
I'm going to have to start doing some serious internet scouting for a track around my neck of the woods. Seeing a real track layout, makes me want to get out and act like the old RC racer that I am.
P.S. Finally got my parts truck out for a run up and down the sidewalk and driveway today. I think it is moving to the head of the pack. Wish I had a speed checker. Gonna have to talk to my State Cop neighbor and see if he can clock it with a radar gun.

Please revisit this track with the JLB J3 speed and the xmaxx, they must be close in terms of track performance but I think the J3 will have the edge... Keep up the great work😁

Tamiyas are fun to drive. But it seems you guys don't want to find out but I still invite you guys up her to run in the Cleveland metroparks and please let me show you around them there is 60 miles of park and there is water running in them every where.

It's not a 1/5 scale, it's 1/8. It's about 30" long, in full scale that'd be 12,5 feet in 1/5 scale. Seems a bit short, doesn't it?
On the other hand, in 1/8 it'd be about 20 feet which seems a lot more reasonable, right?

@@MannyGunzz 1/5 scale means that it's 1 fifth of the size of the original. the model is 30 inches long, times five equals 150 inches, and thats 12,5 feet. The same goes for 1/8. 8*30=240/12 = 20
