Hi guys, blooming love the Kraton 8s, unfortunately though it suffers with the same issue as it smaller brothers, the chassis bends from reasonably hard bashing and big jumps, not a massive issue as upgraded steel chassis is coming available, not that I think you guys will need to worry as you bash quite gently anyway. But that’s a reason I much prefer plastic chassis over alloy..

BLIND J hi mate, yeah I do agree with you, I LOVE the rc sailors channel and they are nice people and do good honest reviews, more so with the drones, but they are definitely a bit biased when it comes to traxxas, I can see and understand why they dont like traxxas because of what they did to them, which was out of order, but It does get a bit tiresome when they hate on traxxas for the littlest thing, like the speed run text, even though it was faster then the arrma, really comparing the xmaxx for like speed, roll overs and design is like comparing a knife to a fork, they are different..
I really like traxxas as a brand, yes some of their products are expensive, but so are dji and arrma, I have a good few traxxas models and love them all to be fair, but ido also have many other brands too, tamiya, losi, hpi, wltoys, FTX, haha I’ll not go into the drone brands that will take too long..I love the look of the arrma kraton 8s some of the design features are top notch, unfortunately the alloy chassis is not one of then, EVERYONE I have seen who bash them hard, rc dude, Kev talbot, rich dupabash, to name a few have all bent the chassis, and they will all upgrade the chassis to aftermarket steel, but the xmaxx plastic chassis lives up to it, yup it can snapped but it takes a heck of a lot more to crack a chassis then bend an alloy one. I respect though that we are all entitled to our opinions and to be honest that’s what nearly all reviews are is just opinions.

Your right the rc hobby is all about having fun, if we don’t have fun we are doing it wrong, I’ve been rcing on and off for about 25 years now, I don’t think I’ll ever stop lol..
Sounds like you have a nice collection of models, arrma definitely make some great truggies, and buggy’s, great choice on the krayton or tailon, lol hard to choose I bet.. was tempered by the typhon but went for the granite 3s box in the end as I’ve got a soft spot for monsters, but I definitely want to get a typhon next it will be the 6s.. right now though I’m build a tamiya euro racing truck which is taking up all my spare time, which is good because we have had nothing but rain for about 6 weeks now, it’s crazy lol,good thing this hobby lets us build and tinker as well as play isn’t it.. happy rcing mate 👍

If you guys do more bashing with this in the near future, you should try and set the punch on the ESC to 5 rather than 3. I think you'll like it:)
becareful jumping it . kevin already bent his chassis and top support bar . looks like ccxrc bent his a bit too . not so strong after all . I will stick with my x maxx
Not many of us send it like those and a few other Tubers send their RC vehicles. That being said I seem to remember Kevin saying a few times how the plastic chassis will give some - bend and then come back. But even a plastic chassis is not indestructible. Pretty sure there will be someone making a tougher 8s Kraton chassis if the stock one proves to be a weak point.
I’m amazed how strong rc trucks are these days they can take so much abuse and just come back for more. I love the way this one drives and the green body is on 🔥 you guys are making me want to get some ground videos. Word of advice: if you get into ground vehicles, grow VERY THICK SKIN because unlike the plane community, you'll be torn to shreds in the comments section. Truck people are the WORST!! (not everyone obviously) Just nasty, negative people that basically tell us to kill ourselves for having fun.
It went up that famous hill like a breaze. I'm definitely saving money for one it is pretty expensive but totally worth it. What till you upgrade the gearing. Insane it will be.

Sorry for hating on it earlier. It looks awesome. Versatile. Fast. A true beast! I want it really badly, but I am soooo torn. You can't bash it, or at least not hard. X-Maxx is still king in my book, though.
We aren't saying anything bad about the Xmaxx at all. They are both great vehicles for sure, for different reasons :-) We are just a couple of best friends that happen to be married, out enjoying the hobby together, which is easy to do with this awesome RC!
@@TheRcSaylors haha yeah :) For sure. I think Traxxas ought to give metal a go in other places, because paying 900 bucks for something that is a fair amount of plastic isn't great, even if it is built well. I think prices should have gone down a little by now, but agh whatever. Happy bashing!

Yes but is heavier better?? When I'm jumping and bashing I would prefer lighter as there are less breakages and easier to manoeuvre 😊😊 The Kraton is an awesome machine all of them 4, 6 and 8s👍🏻👍👍🏻
With batteries the Arrma Kraton 8s costs the same as my Mercedes C180 Kompressor. Maybe I could afford an Arrma Carton? 🤔
This is in no way a cheap RC. Yeah, it's pretty well exhausted our RC funds for a while. It's an impressive RC for sure, but not meant for everyone to own. We feel very privileged to drive and own this, however accept that this will not always be the case on future expensive vehicles released to the market.

I just sent for the Traxxas x Maxx but I didn't know the arrma kraton, (and I think it's a better car) A personal question; If you had to buy one of the two, which one would you buy? ... Good run. Nate when you went cross road, hit the water you pulled an Abby. Given more time I'm sure Abby would have rolled this one, low center or not. It's what she does, besides finding puddles in a desert to drive through.😄😂🤣😁🥴. You have done the climbing, but you didn't do a crawl over the BIG roots. You've hit the small roots only from what I saw. The small crawlers were given the challenge let the big boys have a go. I can't remember for sure, but I don't think you went over the BIG roots with the xmaxx,either. Fairly even so far let the comparisons continue. 😊😊. Fun review. ⚓⚓👍👍👍👍⚓⚓.

I've seen a lot of vehicles driving while popping wheelies, but how many people can say they drove their vehicles on the front wheels? That was great!
I love wheelies I remember first time I saw the erevo Brushless pulling wheelies back in the day I was sold immediately was my first Brushless rc. I guess it's always nice to have a car that plants all wheels from the get go.

That thing looks so amazing bashing. Definitely looks much better than the xmaxx while driving. I'm just not a fan of the body and different paint schemes on there xmaxx. Although it is a beast.
Both vehicles truly have major strengths and weaknesses for sure. We are huge fans of both for very different reasons. Main thing is that we're just out and about enjoying life together while sharing this awesome hobby of RC :-)

Not dumb at all! Realistically a few months if you drive nearly every day or so. Could easily last a year or more if you drive once or twice a week.

@@mickeymouse9823 Based on the 1/8 version, for this to be 1/6 scale, the wheelbase would need to be about 503mm. It's actually just under that. So calling it "1/5" is false advertising.

Truly depends how you drive it. If you run a full scale vehicle into a brick wall (safely ;-)) It will also break. Lol

Lol, I hear ya. Well we bought our Xmaxx and have actually said pretty good things about it. I don't think they'll get their panties in too big a bunch this time. Man, they suck so bad for that experience. We'll NEVER forget all of that, and thank you for remembering as well. Not a good company, however they do seem to make decent, over priced RCs.
Yeah, that whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth as far as Traxxas goes, and there are plenty more 4X4 fish in the sea.
@@ricomon64 Can you please explain to me what happened with Traxxas? I would appreciate it as I am in the market for another monster truck and was seriously considering the XMaxx (I own 3 Traxxas models and an HPI Savage) but decided to hold off til I know more about the Kraton. I looked at one today at Hobby Works and was compelled to buy it right then and there and probably would’ve if I could’ve gotten some assistance from a store employee, but they were not in a hurry to help me so I was not in a hurry to spend my money there. Anyway how a company treats its customers matters to me and if they’ve done someone wrong it’ll definitely affect my decision. It’s the one way we can have also affect them. This is the first time I’ve been to this channel so it’s all new to me. Thanks
@@michaelwhittaker5624 Quite some time ago, TheRcSaylors were reviewing a truck and mentioned that it looked like a miniature Traxxas product. Traxxas contacted RUclips and basically had TheRcSaylors locked out from posting. I thought that was pretty extreme when they could have just said, "Don't do that." The Traxxas products are great, but I'll never be buying one.
As for the TheRcSaylors' RUclips channel, you'll never find more honest reviews of R/C products than from these two. If there's a problem with something, they'll tell you. There are so many other channels that are given free samples and never seem to have a bad review. TheRcSaylors buy their own items to review, and they tell it like it is. I trust them to tell me if a product is worth spending my money on. I would recommend that anybody into the R/C hobby subscribe to their channel. It can save you money and frustration.

Considering that was a fluke and a random pot hole, that's not what we meant at all. You are taking our words WAY out of context... obviously we mean that while driving on fairly normal terrain it is near impossible to roll over. 👍⚓😎

You know, I'm not really inclined to start another argument about whether the Kraton bends or not. You nor I have driven the Kraton yet. Yes, you have seen a few videos of abused Kratons, but that's it. Why not save your facts until you have owned it. I complain about the XMaxx because I have repaird 17 or 18 of them at this point, as well as replaced scores of other parts that failed. I have personally broken one in half in a situation where other rigs have had no issues. That's why I think the XMaxx is junk. When I get my Kraton 8S, I will put it to the test, and I will voice my disappointment if it's too weak. But the video of that Traxxas endorsed Talbot or what ever his name is, leaves me cold. I don't take it for face value, and I think he abused the Kraton beyond what it was intended for. Oddly enough, few talk about the fact that he also broke the XMaxx in half and had to change the electronics. Coincidentally, the ESC in the Kraton is a rebranded Max6, which is what most put in their XMaxx after the OE unit lets go. Food for thought.
As for bashing? It looks like a great basher, and if you set the ESC punch to max, it will be a lot more lively. It will fly, jump and drive better than the XMaxx. Granted, it will need some changes to do wheelies, but there's a difference between bashing and doing stunts. At any rate, I really suggest judgment is saved for later when you have yours in hand. I think the design look solid so far, so I choose to stay positive.

Nope, definitely not! For many factors, including price! But I can say it's been one of the most exciting experiences of my RC Life so far! I know it's hard to believe, but I can have just as much fun (almost) with a $200 RC as I can with this. While this is amazing and impressive, I don't want you to think you have to spend $1K to enjoy the hobby. If you have the $$$ to spend, then yeah, you should definitely buy this and experience it. Trust me, the unboxing alone is exciting enough to be worth it! I will ask this: if you do end up buying it, please consider using our link in our description box to do so.
