This really is a great truck. I got it for my son for Christmas and we got the same 2S Smart LiPo battery. The thing can take a beating! My son crashed it into a metal pole going close to full speed and it was completely fine. The only weak point is the stock servo. It is a plastic gear servo and we stripped two of them in the first month of driving it. Thankfully Horizon was really great about it and sent free replacements. After the second one, they even sent me a free upgraded metal geared servo. Their customer service was top notch. This is definitely an excellent intro to the hobby.
Awesome video guys. You two are like a couple I know. They go down the river and she gets this evil eye... splash time. It’s so funny. Nate it’s all out of love.... God bless you guys
SUPER COOL RAMPING!! And thanks to ABBY the MONSTER truck survived!! I kinda wanted to see NATE call cuz it's been awhile (last fall was in MUD)!! I also LOVED the BASHING on the ground!! I've been way too delicate on my vehicles!! Thanks SOOOO much Saylors, that was THE MOST FUN video of the week!! 💟👍😘
I love my granite! My first “expensive” purchase and I haven’t regretted a second. I’ve since upgraded to the spectrum batteries and i highly suggest everybody does. It’s not that expensive to get the 1100 charger and a 2s lipo. Also, great vid as usual! Keep me coming!
This is great for starters. It can be upgraded later to brushless. The value is there with the v3. The Big Rock is even better. It is just a tougher truck and survives the crashes better. With throttle limiting, it can be turned down for beginners. But yes, the MEGA is what my husband and I started with.
We picked up one of these a month ago great fun at the beach, we use a cover for the electric and put a bit of soft sponge inside to stop sand coming into the truck via the servo holes, 👍in joy the channel
@@TheRcSaylors Ah. Everyone knows red is faster. I'm just an old guy and am kinda slowin' down in my old age. Blue is fast enough for me. Would like to meet you guys some day. Hope some events materialize this year. That would be nice as well. Also, just acquired an Aeroscout S1.1 based on you guys vids. Looks like a good pick to get me back into fixed wing. Got into a bit of an airplane slump.
Fun truck! I have the blue and black 2s as well. I find that this truck goes through lipo batteries pretty quickly. The stock nihm battery seems to last a little longer and the truck seems to go faster. Doing a speed run on lipos, my stock 12428 is 3mph faster. The Granite was only running 20mph. You can use a hobby grade charger for the nihm, takes about an hour.
That looks like a really nice large scale beast! Now I love my Virhuck 02 (aka the Feiyue FY06) as the "big truck" in my collection, but I think that I might pick up the Granite Mega 1/10 as they have it at the local hobby store, so there are no shipping or customs costs. Admittedly, I can't go in and "shop" for it, but I can buy it online, and then pick it up at the store...COVID, ye know. As we are in "lockdown" here in Ontario, which holds just under half of the population in Canada, I can't just go out and do things...but I think that one of these beasties would be good for doing trail walking, and thus be "exercise". :-) Thanks!
Trying to decide between 2 of these, or 2 BLX versions for my boys’ first truck. I like how it’s easily upgradeable out of the box, but I’ve also heard it’s too much truck for that brushed motor, and I’d have a constant problem on my hands with constantly swapping out motors. The boys are only 7, so I’m aiming to use 2S batteries, with speed control on 50 until they’re comfortable. But they already drive my 6S Kraton, so this isn’t a huge concern in the big open fields we use to run our RCs. Still, the price difference is huge when buying 2. Mega or BLX, BLX or Mega, $460 or $640?
Nice! . But going to go balls to the wall and buy the losi laser nut. What do you think? You still like yours? Already pre ordered the axial ryft. Rock bouncer. Going to be pimp
Good video guys I was going to get the granite voltage until I saw this video.. I like this one better.. And Miss Abby is right there needs to be more monster trucks!
Is it ok to drive your RC Car like this into the deep Snow? I mean the Granite was literally baked in snow. I know they say waterproof, but really? No problems after the video? how do you clean/maintain the Car after this snow session? I'm new to the Hobby, bought a little HBX 1:12 scale Truck last year to have some fun, (and to have a reason to go outside). The Granite looks like a serious upgrade and a big step forward into the RC World.
Nate and Abby playing in the snow again . The lipo run was awesome.watch out for flying monster trucks! Great channel r.c. saylors stickers are cool🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Very new to the hobby still waiting on my first car to show up in the mail this week actually. It’s a wltoys 124018. But I also ordered the arrma granite 2wd for my daughters 8th birthday coming up. Now i want to order this one so we will have his and hers bashers for the church parking lot across the street or the skatepark down the road.
Nice video. I'm thinking about getting this or the Losi SCT. Can you please tell me the pros and cons of having a 4wd vs 2wd? The Losi is 2wd, but it comes with metal gear box and metal plates in the front and rear. This would be my first RC car for me and my 10 years old son. The price difference isn't that much ($189 for the Losi SCT vs $229 for this). Both can be upgraded to Brushless too and lipo compatible out of the box. Thank you so much for your time!
Im planning on getting a new aarma in 2 weeks im completely at a stone wall i cant decide between a big rock or a granite someone make the decision for me
Hey John, we think this one is on me. I believe I was supposed to add all if your stickers in with your Christmas card and did not. We will be sure to get you taken care of for sure when we sit down to do this month's stickers. Really sorry! I take full blame for not getting them to you!
As a person who has upgraded 2 Senton megas to brushless, If you think your gonna like it, just buy the BLX version and save yourself at least 100 bucks in parts. Run the blx on 2s or 50 /75 percent on 3s. I think I have at least 400 bucks in my senton mega in arrma parts with the truck converting it lol. Also, buy the Big Rock lol
Have the v1 mega granite! Only issue I had was leaky shocks! But other than that I've had no issues with servo or electronics! It still runs great! Running brushed is just as fun ,just not as fast as the 3s line! I still love running it ! 👍👍🤙👽😎🤪
After going to chat with my local hobby store yesterday we settled for this truck as a Christmas present for my 9 year old son with some extra 2s lipo's, he loves his toy grade rc cars but he's always disappointed by the limitations so gets board. @@TheRcSaylors great to know as I'll be the one doing all the maintenance ECT lol so thank you :) First thing I'll be adding is a fast charger as the one that comes with it is apparently super slow...
I have the arrma senton 550 trophy truck, kyosho outlaw desert prerunner,( never seen winter yet ),scx10 ii trail honcho, and enduro trailrunner ( great in snow ) I never drive them in contaminated snow ( salt ) it kills bearings and electronics
For what it is it's a pretty hot little truck. The team Associate copy of the tub chaise was nice touch to see as well. Although I think the original aluminum tub would have been the better way to go. The fact that you can make simple upgrade the brushed motor or switching from nicad to lipo just by moving the boot from one sent of pins to the other will makes this truck very popular as well. while this is a very good entry level truck for a beginner if at some point the beginner wanted to move up to a completion racing truck this truck would clearly give them that opportunity with just a few minor changes. I looked over the parts and the only thing I didn't see was a unpainted body. when it comes to giving a truck that personal touch a body that you can paint your self really sets your truck apart from the rest.
I have the Arrma granite typhon and Senton all brushed and I had to replace the servo and shocks on all three so keep that in mind if you buy one of these vehicles the servo burns out and the shocks leak I replaced the ESC’s because when it goes into LIPO cut off it’s just stops going which is the dumbest thing if you’re in the middle of the track and somebody runs into the back of you I kept them all brushed because I like the control at slow speeds
✌🏻😎🏴I would have thrown a whole snowman at you if you tried to take my transmitter 😂. ☃️ 💥 😵 🥴. “You have 5 seconds “ 😂 It looked really cold too Abby was the same colour as her scarf 🥶🧣& I totally think Abby should open a donut shop, she loves them 😂. Awesome video guys & get some shoes with more grip Nate I really don’t want to see you fall on ice & concrete👍🏻.
Lol, the crazy thing is I had my serious boots on with tons of grip! It was just solid sheets of ice under most if the snow. Id be about 100 pounds or more heavier if we had a donut shop!! There is nothing better than a fresh donut 🍩 😁😎⚓
I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on this one. One for me and one for my 11 year old son. Question though between this and the Senton and Typhon mega’s. The Typhhon seems slower. When compared to the other two? Please help me make a decision. Thank you Saylors!!
@@TheRcSaylors grassy yard some street, and undeveloped construction sites that have dirt. There’s also a big warehouse that has very clean concrete parking lot and a huge field as well.
The Typhon and Senton have less clearance than the Mo ster Truck Granite. So we recommend it since you'll be running through some grassy areas and sounds like some rough terrain. Plus they just look awesome, lol. Don't forget there are two colors available, so if you are going to drive them together that will be easier to keep them separated and less confusing while driving. One thing to note is that some people have bad luck with their steering servos. Not a huge deal if one does fail, easy to fix but consider the metal upgraded version for that. If you would like to support our channel, please consider ordering your trucks through our links 😁 It doesn't cost you an extra penny, but does help our channel keep the lights on 👍😎 Thank you, and Have Fun!! ⚓

This truck looks great. I just can't decide which one to get...Arrma, Redcat, JLB, Vkar, VRX...Looking for the biggest and fastest for around 300. Any suggestions?
I've bought 3 rc vehicles after watching your reviews on them and they're all still going great . I know you get alot of requests but if you could do a review on the little known FTX DR8 6s Desert Buggy that would be awesome
I just purchased the v3 brushless 3S. First R/C truck and believe i made a great decision as Traxxas was $$$$ much more and parts availability for other brands is far and few between crashing and breakage.
ZD Racing makes my favorite 10th scale racing trucks available today. They're super light and super fast. ( Stadium Trucks ). Imo are better than Traxxas and easier to work on.
Hey there Saylors. I know I’m late on here but you guys did do an Arrma Granite Voltage video. It was when you guys took it on the mud. I know this because you guys are the reason why I got it lol.
I own the 4x4 3s BLX version of this. It's insanity on 3S (you can run it on 2S. It still runs great but just not quite as fast). Around 50mph top speed on 3S and so upgradeable if you choose. I have a few vids on my channel showcasing this beast if anyone might be considering buying that version.
I love your video channel. The snow is tough though, Hard to gauge the car's performance on this snow. That said I would love you to try the new Arrma big rock v3. Maybe when the snow melts...

Awesome RC Truck like it doing a great job Nate and Abby 👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎 video like the color too AWESOME ❤️ video
Thanks Don! Hope you are having a great weekend 👍😁😎⚓
✌🏻😎🏴I would have thrown a whole snowman at you if you tried to take my transmitter 😂. ☃️ 💥 😵 🥴. “You have 5 seconds “ 😂
It looked really cold too Abby was the same colour as her scarf 🥶🧣& I totally think Abby should open a donut shop, she loves them 😂.
@@TheRcSaylors 😂 I’d be huge too 😂. & now I want a warm doughnut 😂
Which is better the granite or the typhon brushed versions
Performance wise they are honestly pretty similar. I think it mainly depends where you plan on driving. What surface will you be running on?
@@TheRcSaylors Gun to head...granite brushless or Traxxas stampede vlx?
Semper Fi
Gunny
I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on this one. One for me and one for my 11 year old son. Question though between this and the Senton and Typhon mega’s. The Typhhon seems slower. When compared to the other two? Please help me make a decision. Thank you Saylors!!
Awesome choices Gil! Where will you be driving them mostly? That will make a huge difference on which one we would recommend.
@@TheRcSaylors wow!!! Thank you so much for your wonderful words of advice!! Granite it is!! Keep up that great positive energy and have a blessed day!!
This truck looks great. I just can't decide which one to get...Arrma, Redcat, JLB, Vkar, VRX...Looking for the biggest and fastest for around 300. Any suggestions?
I've bought 3 rc vehicles after watching your reviews on them and
they're all still going great .
I know you get alot of requests
but if you could do a review on
the little known FTX DR8 6s Desert Buggy
that would be awesome
The granite is a very capable truck indeed mr sailor👍
Glad you like this RC too 👍😁😎⚓
I love the tyres on the granite 👍 I would be getting it for them 😊
I just purchased the v3 brushless 3S. First R/C truck and believe i made a great decision as Traxxas was $$$$ much more and parts availability for other brands is far and few between crashing and breakage.
Please do some bashing vids on your Senton 3S!! Or Typhon 3S! Nice video guys!
This is great
How does this compare to the 124018?
Replied to your other comment 😉👍😁😎⚓
ZD Racing makes my favorite 10th scale racing trucks available today. They're super light and super fast. ( Stadium Trucks ). Imo are better than Traxxas and easier to work on.
I have the brushless 😵💫 it’s naughty fun 🤣
Did you make this one into a Brushless?
What ramp are you using?
This company that makes this ramp doesn’t really exist any more, sadly.
When u will test traxxas xmaxx or udr
We actually own an Xmaxx and have featured it on our channel before 👍😁😎⚓
Nate, if you are unstable on the ice check your CG!
Hahaha 🤣😂 Will do! 👍😎⚓
I love your video channel. The snow is tough though, Hard to gauge the car's performance on this snow.
That said I would love you to try the new Arrma big rock v3. Maybe when the snow melts...
We will definitely get this truck out again when the snow has melted. Couldn't pass up the opportunity for snow driving fun though 👍😁😎⚓
should i get one of these for my soon to be 10 year old step son or let him try an build a b6.1d ive had in the closet for 2 yrs
I have the senton and the typhon I think this could be my next one
The Granite is a really well rounded RC 👍😁😎⚓
Wish you guys would do a live show
"Taste the Beast" -Role Models
Slap some Typhon arms (from RPM) and typhon turnbuckles on there and you have one stable monster truck.
