I was so happy to see the advent of something as simple as shock boots come out a few years ago. I now see they're not included on so many vehicles across the spectrum. I'm kinda surprised at that. Truck looks pretty crazy!

Hey Nate and Abby...don't bash it to hard tho I have already seen videos of the chassis bending! It's definitely "not" as tough as the XMAX but its still a good medium basher!

Read the comments. People is not hating on the videos. But it has been a bit of a "Clash-of-the-Titans" in terms of Traxxas fans vs. Traxxas opponents. I think the fact that Traxxas main competitor has finally released an XMaxx rival, has really stirred the waters. Some has been in it for the brawl, and some of us just got fed up with all the B.S posted with no factual content.

Had to tune in. I havnt has much time to drive my rc’s. Today I brought two of my rigs out to a new friends place and had there entire family watching like little children. I love that feeling of bringing so much joy to others lives with such a great hobby. My two rigs of choice are the epidemic monster truck 4s 1/8, and my notorious 6s. Wish I filmed my friends reactions and there children
Oh and my original body has taken so much punishment from a full year of bashing and still no broken parts since I made 120$ in upgrades

It has been an exciting week with the release of the new 8s Kraton, it looks like an awesome truck. From my experience having owned various RC's including Traxxas Xmaxx and Arrma Kraton I believe that you have way more fun with RC if you keep an open mind. I personally don't see a winner between the 8s Kraton and Xmaxx, they both have different characteristics, levels of fun factor and both will eventually break if you launch them off big jumps. I have really enjoyed watching your videos. I purchased that little Proboat Jetsprint jet boat that you reviewed a while back for my son and he has had lots of fun in our pool with it. Keep up the good work guys!

Good choice. Don't listen to all the stuff from armchair experts and haters about them bending. It looks like a sweet setup and I have ordered one as well. Far from my first RC but it looks like a platform I can have a lot of fun with and I'm sure it will stand up to most of what we can throw at them.

Each truck has its strengths. both will break if you try hard enough. To me they are designed using different concepts. The kraton is a more open design using a mixture of materials, the Xmaxx to me is a more closed design based upon using plastics. I see the term plastic as a generic term because there are different compositions to make up a plastic. If I was to get one it would be the kraton as it is easier to work on, the only area of concern is the upper brace, what is causing it to deflect then bend. All rc's are made to a cost then you have the mark up.

Hey they make a 1/5 scale truggy tire you guys should see if you can get your hands on a set and then go hit the track. Look the tires up they come premounted and would probably look bad ass on that rig.

I like it but think it's too big or heavy for it's own good. It just looks weak compared to the XMAXX and every 1:10 scale I've ever driven. I'm not hating on it, I just think it should be able to pull the front wheels on a punch. Also, on other channels they've already bent the chassis. I'm not an Arrma hater. I have a Typhon 6s, a Granite 3s and just aquired a Kraton 4s. Great trucks! If you guy's are only going to keep one my vote would be for the XMAXX and maybe wait for the Outcast/Notorious 8s.

Smoky Bear, saw those vids too. The X Maxx seems to be more of a basher the Kraton 8s seems more of a large scale racer.
It looks like it could use a little stiffer springing on the shocks, and a bit heavier-weight shock oil. That would keep it from bottoming out so badly on the jumps, and keep it better-planted on the track. It always takes a while to get used to a new track. As the aftermarket catches up with this new truck, it will get easier to find the parts to make it a better performer. It's a cool looking truck, though. I hope you guys are having a good Thanksgiving.

The Rc Community culture desperately needs to change.. Do you remember what got you into the hobby? I do. Seeing my first stampede and I thought I have to have one. When I got one the kool aid smile was on! I have since moved on from bashing and now into racing but enjoy the hobby and the RUclipsrs that bring us these quality videos. To be honest, who cares what your favourite brand is or what RC YOU think is better, blah, blah, blah. Thats not what these you tubers are trying to do for us. The RC channels, for the most part, are unbiased. I don't care what somebody's opinion is in the comments if they're going to be a fan boy. That's not what these channels are for! This is just a hobby and the RC Saylors are brining us quality, fun, and entertaining RC videos that are meant to educate and show how great this hobby truly is no matter what your budget. So you can make an informative decision for yourself on a RC purchase. And I for one applaud them for bringing us these fantastic videos. Thank you so much RC Sayolrs! 🤙😁😎

I agree it is harder when your being directed to where you going, you have to stay in boundaries. you dont have the boundaries when bashing.

Hi RcSaylors I love you guys and I love your channel. Your channel is what got me into drones. I am not an Arrma Hater in fact love the fact that they are putting a dent on Traxxas' sue em all attitude but im also not gonna lie about loving the Traxxas Summit 110 its the only land Rc i own right now and currently own 2 if them. Watching these vids from different channels both brands have issues nothing is perfect and competition is also good for the hobby. Just a sidenote though i saw vids from KevinTalbot and Bickeybam both of their chassis got bent from jumping very high and BashersUK having servo screws backing out so just be careful guys.

My thoughts exactly. So much has been said about the Kraton for example. But it is so new and none of the people who has spent their time posting the negatives, has actually had their hands on the Kraton.
Yes, whdn a competitor comes along, it's easy for people to get insecure. It's never nice to feel that you lose that top dog position you may think you have by owning a competing model.
But as you say, how many of these haters are actually in the hobby? Some may own an XMaxx, or something similar, but that's not the same as being an RC hobbyist. I think most who are not armchair racers, don't give much thought one way or the other. We fix things, upgrade things and mod the shit out of what we choose to run. If my Kraton chassis bends a bit, so what? I'll fix it and change it for the better. I don't choose the XMaxx because it's not what I look for in an RC. Had that not been the case with the Kraton, I would not have ordered it either. But it's a cool platform and I like dealing with Arrma, so win win. Had the XMaxx been a great platform for me, it would have been on the shelf, no matter my opinion of Traxxas. I can fix things myself, and I don't really need Traxxas for anything. I own a DBXL-E even though I'm well aware that both Losi and Horizon can be hell to deal with.
So yup, it would be a lot more fun if the armchair experts would flap their trap a lot less about all the negative stuff, and just watch and learn. They would have a lot more fun not to mention variety that way. Oh well, onwards and upwards.

@@spike-- Right. I urge you to go and read the comments section of the past week. Just about every argument is kicked off by someone commenting that Arrma is bad, or the metal chassis is crap. Not much was said when they unboxed the XMaxx, but it all blew up once the Kraton was unboxed.

The way that thing was jumping in front of the stand makes me think layout of track was meant to go in other direction. Really kicks the back end up in that section, try running opposite way see if it goes through that section better.
The reason it was ramping that way is because this is a 1/10 scale course 😉👍⚓😎

Have you had any Chasis bending problems? I have quite a few Traxxas vehicles including an X maxx and love them but I've been wanting to add an Arrma to the collection since I own at least 1 model from most every major RC company out there EXCEPT Arrma. I really want to get an 8s Kraton but not if its gonna have the same old Arrma problems. Fingers crossed

I was wondering why you were not using the Rosterome at the beginning of the video.
As an enthusiast of rc since the early 1990's...I learned the difference between bashing and racing.
I made the same mistake when i first went to a track and stood in the center...when i attended my first meeting i realised the advantage of the raised view and being off to the side of the track helped with orientation,speed control and timing.
Please don't take this as any kind of criticism...just an observation from my perspective as a follower of your channell.

Hi Guys, looking for some help. I’m running a smart Dx5c with the kraton and the smart telemetry keeps dropping out randomly. Any ideas what it could be? I’m thinking the TX could be due for a firmware upgrade. I just haven’t seen anybody else run that setup and you guys are the experts in my eyes
The only thing harder than learning a new track is doing it with a new truck. The truck definitely could use some setup for the front straight.

Obviously they (haters) miss the point of your videos. You test, try, drive, fly and evaluate products so that we can make informed decisions! None of us could buy and try the variety products that you test. Plus if you have a bit of fun while doing so, all the better.

I'm intrigued, why have a favourite?... I personally like to see what all brands have to offer.
You know, after 30+ years in this hobby, I have come to realize that more often than not, the brand itself is of little importance. I look at what the platform is capable of, and I look for parts support. Are there a few brands I feel attached to? Yes. Mostly for nostalgic reasons. I still purchase the odd Tamiya rig on occassion, but I'm well aware that their models are far from modern. Are there companies I tend to avoid? Yes. But no more so than if I can see that a particular model is a great platform.
Don't get caught up in the brand wars, and don't limit yourself by dismissing models before handling them.

We are just trying to enjoy life, while sharing this hobby together. It's a real shame that people can save so negative about something like RCs.
And the haters don't even have it yet or never even seen it other than a RUclips video trying to down it all rc's have flaws that's why they make upgrades give it year then we'll see what they say
