Glad to see you post another vid. I’ve signed up with some of our gang from your Giant Loop vid (Sean, Erik) to do the Noobs Death Valley Rally in March. Rick from GiantLoop Rally VStrom 650
Hi Rick, great to hear from you. Yes, the Noobs Death Valley, I've never joined that group, but they are usually at the DV at the same time we are there (or a week before or after). Last year they were camped at Panamint Springs, that's why I used that as the start location for the maps. It's a ride I recommend you guys do.
When I came across your video, I thought this was going to be exciting, seeing a 790 go up to Cerro Gordo. When I took my KTM 1090, I too was having difficulty at same location as GS. In my case, it was loose deep pea gravel that got me. I dropped it one too many times, I was helped by one other rider, unlike the GS guy, more the merrier. Great video perspective.
Thanks! And yes, it seems to be a combination of a steep climb with lose gravel, with heavy motorcycles with lots of torque. Since then I came across another video where a guy follows KTM's directions, put his 890 rally on maximum traction control (he used level 8) and have at it (not on this road but on similar situation on a Colorado pass). He claims the bike does better on these situations.
Great video, thanks for sharing your video, I also have short legs (not good for adventure riding), what would be your recommendation of roads in Death Valley that can be done on mid/big adventure bikes, if your are not an expert rider? Thank you!
Thank you. There are lots of roads I recommend for average riders. I hope to start posting videos more often, where I will describe/show more roads. But to start with, the road that takes you to the "Race Track" from Ubehebe Crater is a good one. You can also visit Ballarat, just to mention two locations at extreme points. You can probably try Hunter Mountain Rd and visit Hunter Cabin. It connects to Race Track, so you could do a loop going back down via Race Track rd. It's along loop, though. Saline Valley Road all the way to the hot springs is a good one as well, although it is rough at points, it is not difficult. And there are several paved roads as well. Hope to share more videos soon.
Thank you Fabian. 70? The guy who was sitting on a rock, resting, after my descent from Cerro Gordo, and we talked about being too old to help, that guy was 73. Of course you can ride in the US. Check Moto Quest. They rent adventure motorcycles or provide organized tours.

Thanks for posting!
It's definitely an enjoyable format!
Great job!
Thanks Alan. It's hard work, harder than it should be.
Beautiful video! Some great memories last year.
Indeed, it was another great year Scott. Thank you for organizing these trips.
Great video, I enjoyed your narration.

Thanks Scotty!

Great video, thank you for sharing. By the way - how old are you? I'm 70 and from Germany, so I would never ride in the US.
