I just knew how good teammate Westbrook is when he was traded to Wizards. He is a born leader. Beal is our best player and supposed to be the leader of the team but when Westbrook went there, he became the leader of the team instantly. He encourages everyone on the court and on the sidelines. I was blessed with the chance to play against him and I only guarded him a select few times due to my playing time being so low my freshmen year I was lucky to even see the court. And let me tell you his first step is something other worldly, i could only imagine how it is in the nba trying to guard that.
Having lived in OKC for years, I can tell you Russ is a great leader, a great teammate, and unbelievably great in the community. Do I think he is a frustrating and somewhat overrated player? Yes. But only in the sense that I think he’s more like a Top 30 player than a Top 10 one.
