Funny personal story I have with Steven Adams. Kind of a long one but you’ll enjoy it, I promise. I’ve lived in OKC my entire life, and have been a Thunder fan since the franchise moved from Seattle. Adams was a family favorite of ours, and when my brother got married I wanted to get him and my sister in law a gift that actually meant something. So I went to a Thunder game with an Adams jersey, and I ran down to court side the second they opened the doors. After Steven was done with his shoot around he walked towards the tunnels and stopped to sign autographs, there was probably 50 people there waiting, and he signed and took pictures with people and especially all the kids. He would chat and was just being sweet, super nice, and a genuine guy. Well after waiting a bit, it seemed I wasn’t going to get my jersey signed. he had skipped over me to sign for my of the children, I wasn’t mad about that at all but figured I had to try one last time to get is autograph. He started down the tunnel to the locker room, giving waves goodbye and I yelled out “Wait Steven! Please sign this jersey for my brothers wedding present, you are our favorite!” He stopped, turned around with a smile and said “what did you say?” I repeated myself and he took the jersey from my hand and signed it, laughing as he did so. As he handed it back to me, he said “Should have got him a better present, mate” gave me a Pat on the shoulder, and walked to the locker room. I got the jersey framed and gave it to my brother the night before his wedding, and shared the story with him. Now, it’s hanging in his living room, and my brother tells that story anytime someone asks about that Steven Adams jersey. Steven is a real class act, an awesome competitor, an incredible athlete with some of the best work ethic In the league. He may not fill the stat sheet every night, but he leaves his effect on the game his own way, fighting for every rebound, setting the hardest screens in the NBA, and just being a fighter every single game. That is why he is a fan favorite, and always will be in OKC. I’ll root for Steven no matter where he goes in the future, and want nothing but the best for him.
That's the best, makes the gift worth so much more. SA has that real non-American hard work ethic that I envy. Same as when things get physical on the court, he just keeps his head up and doesn't let it get to him. I can't help wanting to see him do well.

Guys, Taiwanese here. Just to clarify something Steven said about the fermented egg he had in Taiwan. Not everyone here is a fan of the fermented egg. For those who don't mind the fermented egg, it's not like they eat it everyday either. Hope that clears things up :) Cheers mate,
@@PepeAgain1025 He's not alone. Fermented egg is one of those things that you either like it or you hate it and even the local share the same sentiment. For those who are interested, fermented egg in TW generally is made with duck egg. Once fermented, the egg shell turned grey and egg white turned dark translucent (sorta like amber) and yolk turned black goo. The yolk is what turn off most people because it's got quite a distinct and strong smell to it.
Additionally, some eat it alone and most people eat it with tofu and soy sauce. Tofu + fermented egg + soy sauce and green onion on top is the most common combo.

Wow he’s got my utmost respect, so down to earth and just keeps it real, and it’s so easy to see that he’s just being him, love it, with big men being more and more undervalued he definitely has found a perfect niche for centers who can shoot 3s, but looking at his numbers on basketball reference you can see why because he’s actually a really good shooter from mid range, better than most guards, he’s definitely gonna continue to have a place in the league until he wants to leave and I’ll definitely be watching to see how his career progresses

Guys, Taiwanese here. Just to clarify something Steven said about the fermented egg he had in Taiwan. Not everyone here is a fan of the fermented egg. For those who don't mind the fermented egg, it's not like they eat it everyday either. Hope that clears things up :)
Cheers mate,
I feel like Steven was trying to be as nice as possible saying that it wasn't for him either 😂😂
Dude.. New Zealand has Kānga pirau, Tero tero, Marmite.... all acquired tastes... list goes on
One of the funniest episodes so far lmao just a naturally funny dude
This guy declared for the draft for the free food and now he's in the last year of a 4 year/100 mil contract. Congrats it truly couldn't happen to a better guy
Steven Adams a humble goat 10/10 best interview couldn't find a better NBA player to be a role model.
Adams is a total class act. Much love from OKC!! 🧡🌩💙
Watching him grow from a young prospect to a bearded Tongan badass was such a great experience. Plus, when he hit the scene he replaced Kendrick Perkins in our lineup so thank God for that! 😅
Ι dont think you can name ONE guy in the NBA who wouldnt want to play with Steven Adams. What a guy.
And what a player. He gained my respect in the GSW-OKC series 5 years ago and hasnt lost it since.
If I could have a full course meal with 3 people in the entire world Steven Adams would be my number 1 pick. Funny as hell, down to earth and genuine. Such a great personality with tons of stories to tell.
Hes on my top5 list, not politically correct, just tells it like it is
I've never clicked on a video so fast! Steven is a lej

Grogged 😂 Steven is such a massive legend
How could you not love Steven Adam such a simple man humble and smart
Can see why team Mates love this guy. High IQ , doesn’t take himself too seriously.
NBA needs more guys like Steve.
This is by far my favorite podcast so far. I love Steven's personality and the duality of Steven and JJ's personalities are just so perfect
Instantly became a Steven Adams fan after this. Exemplifies everything I've come to appreciate about Kiwi culture. Such a grounded dude with an awesome outlook on life!
I love Steven adams he’s literally one of the chillest dudes of all time
Made me love him even more than I already did.
Gotta love the aussie and NZ athletes, just achieving greatness with a casual atitude

This man is the definition of chill... just go with the flow and everything will work out fine...
