Once Grand Abandoned Blue Bell Plantation House Down South built in 1856

- This beautiful old farm house was built in the mid 1800’s around 1850-1856, in a small once thriving community in the early twentieth century. Built for a modestly wealthy agrarian family who farmed cotton, timber, and other crops. In the early 1900’s the house was expanded in the back and given a large wraparound porch in the front. Over the years the house had subsequent updates and remodels over the years but still retains much of its original character. Apparently a man was attempting a restoration in the 1990’s but passed away before could finish. Now this old destitute relic of days gone by sits shelled and lonely, rotting in its copse of trees along the road, brooding on the passing world. Hope you enjoy. The added on parts always fall apart first.
Beautiful old place!❤
Seems that way! Thank you for watching! :)
I absolutely have to say I love a long wide porch to just sit and drink sweet tea and maybe feel a cool breeze. Beautiful.
Well said! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Absolutely GORGEOUS Kappy!!!! I love it! I can imagine how it was brand new and picture family sitting on the porch in rocking chairs with children running back and forth. This one is such a beauty! Thank you Kappy for another great find. You never disappoint! Stay safe!😊
Omgosh !! Incredible 🎉💓
Well said! Thank you so much always for the kind words and watching! I really appreciate it! Have the kindest audience on RUclips thank you🙏
Seeing a house that's still standing after almost 180 years then seeing the addition almost rubble tells a lot. So sad she was forgotten.
Hi Kappy. That porch has got to be in your top ten. Those hearts ❤️carved in the doorframe. Wow. What a beauty. Great find Kappy!
Agreed! Such a great porch! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Kappy, I`ve noticed with a lot of the houses you visit, it always seems like the older part in the front is still in reasonably good shape but the new additions on the back are rotting and falling in. I guess it just shows the difference between the way things were built in the old days compared to now. Great job by the way, I really liked this one.
It’s not how it was built it was what it was built with
Look at those curtains still hanging from when someone measured them up, hung them and stood back to admire them. Such a beautiful old home.
No televisions in the old days so the piano was the entertainment center. 😊
That and rapeing , that was just a joke people. Lol
Hi Kappy, is this an early gift for Mother's Day? Thank you for taking us along with you to these beautiful properties.
😅 I wish all of your subscribers a Happy Mother's Day❤❤
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!! Have a great day! Yall deserve it! :)
Thank you so much 😊
Thanks Kappy for showing such a beautiful old farm house. You know it was a grand lady back in its day.
I was amazed to see the glass still unbroken.
Must be in a place where people respect older properties.
That's refreshing to know.
I bet the transom over the front door and the attic porthole were stained glass and removed to protect them .
Wow, no crummy graffiti either ! 'm impressed !
I've been following your videos for years, You make great videos. Thank you..
Really appreciate you sticking around thank you for watching!🙏
Same here I subscribed from the first one I watched ❤
I'm imagining how gorgeous this was painted blue, with white trim,I can see a couple in a horse and buggy ,and the husband showing his wife the almost finished beauty it would become. Love the veranda, wicker porch set, some chimes, good to go. Love that staircase, house even in disrepair is still so cozy, would have been great around holidays!! They don't make houses like this anymore, look at the eaves in the attic, great find as always kappy, thanks for the lengths you go to ,to give us these videos to enjoy 💯👍🏼
Thanks for posting all your finds, always like to see the old homes.....Godis Good!!!
She's a lovely old house Kappy. Beautiful staircase. So nice. Love the old sewing machines. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Kappy! Really cool house. Love the lack of grafitti. Thanks for the look inside! ✌️
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Simply a beautiful old house. It deserves another life. As we watch we get the feeling of lots of happy times under that roof. Thumbs up Kappy
What a gorgeous house but it sad to see it in that condition that staircase is awesome love to decorate it for christmas and that front porch great video kappy and a great weekend.
Omg the wall paper in the living room is exactly like my bathroom 😅
Very delicate flowers; pretty paper. 💞
Oh my.... at 12:33 you show the old Singer sewing machine. I worked in the factory that built those cabinets. Singer built the sewing machines in Truamnn Arkansas for 50 years or more (probably 75 years) and there was the Parson's Cabinet Factory in Osceola Arkansas where I worked one summer while in high school and we built the cabinets for the machines. When Singer closed down, Parson's cabinet factory closed.
That is so cool. Thanks for sharing that history tidbit
I can see why someone would have wanted to restore this once beloved old house. It has remnants of it's beauty.
Still standing ruined back rooms a ruined upstairs bathroom but still a grand old house.
Damage can be assessed, it can be updated for modern times during the repair but the look the feel other then the necessary updates she can undergo a full restoration and be sold to people who'd wanna love her and raise a family in her walls.
Beautiful lady of a house, if I was rich I'd do the work and move in.
Hi Kappy what a perfect place for a nice party late afternoon on that wrap around porch with some good friends to bring some instruments to play some pretty music 🎶 The entrance is beautiful, just love to fix this one up ❣️👍😁Thanks for seeking it out for us to also enjoy ✅👍
This brings back a wonderful memory from my childhood when we lived in a house just like this in the front part. The back had a bathroom and bedroom dinning room and kitchen. There. Was only 2 bedrooms upstairs but the fireplaces were bottom and second story.. Daddy didn’t buy it. But remodeled the old home place .loved it.
If the quality of workmanship and materials from the front of the house had been used in the addition, that beautiful old home would most likely still be standing and livable. 😓
The Whitman Piano Manufacturing Company, Inc., was owned and controlled by The Weydig-Henkelman Corporation of New York. Founded in 1880 by Peter Weydig (President) and George Henkelman (Vice President), the firm of Weydig-Henkelman was first located at 133rd & Brown Place, New York City. By the 1920s the firm was located at 402-410 West 14th Street, New York City. The firm built good quality yet affordable pianos under the brand names of Weydig-Henkelman, Whitman, Becker & Sons, and Radi-O-Player, a player piano equipped with a large radio built into the upper portion of the cabinet. Ironically, with the increasing popularity of the radio and phonograph taking place of the American piano market for home entertainment, Whitman/Weydig-Henkelman went out of business in 1926.
I don't know how you find these places, but I'm glad you do. It looks to me like the addition on the back of this place wasn't the quality of the rest of the house. Hence the kitchen and dining room ceiling fell. Woodwork was pretty all throughout. That wrap around porch would be my go to for relaxation. Big ole cup of coffee, just watching birds, maybe take my crochet out there, or a good book. That porch would be a great place for a Mother's Day "my time". Tell your mother Happy Mothers day!
Thanks for taking me along Mr Kappy! 😊
So glad you enjoy the videos still!! Thank you very much for the kind words and watching!! Happy Mother’s Day to you as well!! :)
Now that is an amazing porch! Part of my life is spent outside! I’m not young and can’t explore anymore but I love my porch!
I love the layout of this old beauty. I wish someone had taken care of her. Does anyone else love the old crazed, crackled, chippy paint? ❤ Thank you Kappy! You found another winner!
I wish someone had restored this beauty in time. Beautiful details. Thanks, Kappy!
Thank you very much for watching!
What a grand old beauty. I love a wrap-around porch!
Isn't it amazing that the first room you went into was totally intact including the wallpaper and curtains, but most of the rest was in bad shape!!! I would have spent my days on that huge porch!💗
It seems to me the back end of the house was a add on. Maybe back in the 1960's? There was attempt to renovate the house. The farm house was very decorative and was built with love.
OMG I LOVE OLD FARM HOUSE! What a find & love that porch! Cool video Kappy!
Me too! Thank you very much for watching!
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⚓ thanks for bringing us on another great exploration Kappy. It's still amazes me the amount of abandoned homes across America, and the world for that matter. Keep up the great work and be safe out there 👍✌️🇺🇲
I would love to see a video of someone restoring a old house like this
Great finds again! Thanks! Can't beat these old homes. Built so sturdy, with character. And the settings in some of these places seem relaxing and closer to nature. Birds, trees, bugs, grass, no people lol.
Urban Exploring With Kappy thanks for sharing this video with me it was a good find and God Bless.
When you think it was almost all open wild country around there and these places were considered important homes and businesses. Wish they could preserve them. Thanks for documenting them before they disappear.🌿
Nice find Kappy! She was beautiful and loved @ one time. I wish these places could b saved. Nice job Kappy plz stay safe out there!
And so amazed and happy that this gorgeous old house hasn’t been vandalized. Many thanks for the tour!
All these old homes have pianos left behind. They are heavy to move. Beautiful plantation home, what a shame it is left to fall apart
Sweet details around the front door. Beautiful entryway and staircase. The alcoves in the bedrooms were cool, I wonder if they would have been bathing / dressing areas, someplace to keep the chamber pot? I'm a long time watcher, and if I recall correctly your mom is the one who got you interested in old houses, so we all owe her a big thank you. I hope you both have a wonderful weekend.
And yet another great video i just love these old houses 🏘️🏘️ you have been showing us thank you so much take care and thank you for sharing 😊😊
Beautiful details!!!💙💙💙💙💙💫
Agreed! Thank you for watching!
Wow… that porch and the staircase, just beautiful!
Unbelievable home! Woodworking, etc. Great vid, kappy!
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Another beautiful house trying to stay standing but losing the battle. The staircase and the railing are very unique as are the doors and windows. I really liked the blue room inside the front door, I can imagine the window open with a nice breeze coming in and rocking in my chair reading a book.
Abandoned Southern Farm Houses/Plantation man whatever you wanna call it is so interesting... I love these type of content
Thank you Kappy for the tour! See ya on the next 😊
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
hey kappy wowww u did it again thanks for the invite and upload BEAUTIFUL farm house i loved the old furniture to happy mothers day to yer mom take care my gratefully deadicated friend
Loved the outside of the home. In it's heyday, it was the talk of the town. Sad that a few antiques left inside of it. The furniture other than the dresser in one room reminded me of the furniture to a bedroom set from the 80's. But the other furniture (other than sewing machine) looked older, maybe from the 1900's down to the 1930's. The piano, was my favorite, the cords must be all gone. The keys looked okay. Nice job, and the stairwell, I could imagine a beautiful young lady in a ball dress standing at the top of those stairs with it's curved feature. To bad the rails were painted over. It could have been Mahogany or even Oak. The fireplaces just as beautiful with the ornate Greek style. Oh my, so many lovely homes abandoned and rotting away, destroyed by natural elements and some people breaking into. Thank you Sir, for this adventure you take us on!
I think some people came here and destroyed some things. It surprises me that they only had two bedrooms for such a good size house.
it breaks my heart to see theses beautiful works of art go to ruin.😢
What a beautiful porch! Such a great old house that is suffering from neglect. Thank you for sharing 💜
This was once an incredibly beautiful house. It's such a sad shame that theee places just get abandoned and fall into ruins like this. I would give my eye teeth to live in one..
I've always wished I could have a house with a wrap around porch
How exciting for me to see a Clive Cussler book on the shelf. The Clive Cussler Classic Car Museum is a few blocks away from me. His children run it. He and his wife raised their three kids in a modest home here in Arvada Colorado. Greetings Kappy , from Arvada Colorado.
The front of the house is very well preserved and beautiful. I was so surprised to see the back of the house in such a sad condition. What a contrast. And who doesn't love that winding staircase and porch? Great video, thanks for the tour and stay safe.
Beautiful a joy to visit this elegant place with you Kappy 🙋♀️
A lovely experience to view this grand old lady and not be disgusted by disrespectful vandals who deface with tagging and obscenities
I love the grand front entry doors and staircases in these old places.
Looks like some bad weather may have torn up that back side.
Love the birds and the train. Nice old house. You know I love those wide hallways. Thanks for sharing! Headed to SC soon? ❤️
Thank you for watching!! I’m getting a second job actually, sticking around up north to help out with my grandfather, no one else can pick him up when he has a bad fall so if I’m not around my grandma has to call an ambulance so he’s not stuck on the floor. Times have been tough, thank you for watching!
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 Kappy, So brave are you in caring for your Grandparents, it’s tough road at home too sometimes. At one period of time I was taking care of my parents did for about 20 years then they ended up in the nursing home, for a while then Covid hit everywhere, and many workers on staff had the virus 🦠 and so,now missing my parents, sweet precious, they’re always in my prayers and heart ❤️. Just be careful to take care of yourself too💗✅👍😁
How are you so brave to walk into homes that are falling down just amazes me, Be Safe!! Love the videos💗
This is just the house that i would have liked to build for myself. Or to find and buy to live in as my forever home. Sadly I'm to old now for it ever to happen. And this design of house was never built in england. With the wrap around covered porches. Love all the beautiful fireplaces and the lovely period furniture.
Thank you Kappy for another beautiful house. She was grand in her day.
I love houses like this. You can tell it’s going through a few design fazes over the years. From federal to antebellum to Gothic.
Antebellum isn’t a style
Im also a mother and happy mothers day to everyone also
Have a great Mother’s Day!! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
That gigantic porch is awesome ! Very sad when the roof goes the whole house goes !!!
I can picture the house of old, before add on. Enjoy how you emphasis the house. Thank You Kappy.
Glad you enjoyed!! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Thank you very much for sharing this lovely old home to us. Absolutely lovely. I want to compliment you on the way you present the subjects. Your camera work is very fine and so very easy on the eye to watch. Well done sir please continue to show us more beautiful homes, in the future Rob from Australia
Another beautiful place bites the dust. So sad.
Great camera work. Thank you.
So, so sad someone abandoned this beautiful house.
Gorgeous, Love the wrap around porch. Just sad to see falling apart...
beautiful>>>The pefct Dream Home is one that ha been closed up for 100 years with everything still inside and immaculate>>>
Wow, what a beauty, House had to be Elegant back in it's day, Just Horrid to see how far down, like the kitchen it has become...
Another beautiful place 🤠👍🏻. Porches are always a plus especially when it's a wrap around porch. I love the fireplace but I'm not a fan of when they're painted over. It's better to refinish it rather than painting it. Another favorite for me is the staircase railing and the way is so smoothly wraps around. It's always a shame to see such a great place in horrible decay. Breaks my heart.... I don't know how you find these great places but I'm always happy to see your discoveries. Great video adventure Kappy and as always thanks 🤠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A day early, this week.
Newer furnace in the attic and newer electrical, I would think in the last 30 or so years.
17:00, also the electrical service to the house looks newer.
Magnificent house. These abandoned mansions are sad. They need repair, love and good people living in them again.
I wonder when the last date is that somebody lived there.
This house looks like someone was trying to restore it or strip it and became involved in something else and the house got left behind without being finished. What a beautiful place large rooms that are airy, the only I found interesting is the bathroom on the landing, you had to step up or down to it. lol Thanks for sharing and you have a great day and safe travels
i love this place. So beautiful. I didn't get any bad vibes from it either. Was the bad roof and decay from the back of the house? Thank you Kappy. You made my day.
Dawn what a beautiful house helpful someone could save it but it's in sad condition.
Nice looking old house.
I love your videos. You are my favorite.
Wow! Beautiful!!! Thanx kappy!!
Thank you Kappy for another great video! I’m so sorry the man restoring it did not get to finish it - nor did anyone in his family take up the wonderful effort. It’s still a viable home - especially the original part! Looking forward to next week’s house!
Loved the house Kappy!! So sad to see it falling apart. The one next to it seems just as old. ❤
Thank you very much for watching!! :)
The room to the right known as a parler. This room is for entertaining guests.
My heart breaks a little every time I see what was once a beautiful home, empty and decaying. I always wish I knew the story of why it came to be this way.
Kappy, you did it again, another beautiful and historic old home to explore for all of us to enjoy. The bones of that home were amazing, and the details were classic, stunning, and mostly intact. I have no idea how you find these homes to explore, I live in Scottsdale, Arizona. Around here you have to go way out of town to see anything of interest, and because of the intense heat and lack of humidity homes turn to dust pretty darn quick. I am a Digital Color Artist with 41 years experience working with high end digital color. Kappy, it is wonderful to watch you explore these homes, because of your respectful nature, and the care with which you explore these homes. But like this home and many others you have explored I get nervous when I see you entering an area that looks like you might fall through the floor. Beautiful framing, and your keen knowledge of architecture make your videos stand out Kappy, Kudos. Take Care and watch out for sketchy floors.
Great explore as always, thanks for all this interesting content, Kappy!
Gr8 vid Kappy 😊. Thx 4 showin this old farm house 🏠 as always u bring gr8 vids 2 us . Thx u Bro . Awesome ‼️💯😮✅️🆒️🤍✝️🙏🤍🫠🩵🧸🤍🌹
beautiful i know it would take alot of money to restore would love to see it done over
Beautiful kappy. Real nice one.
I always get so excited when you come out with a new video. Thank you! It doers no good to upgrade walls and floors if the roof is rotten.
Thank you very much!! I’m glad you enjoy!! :)
Another great explore. Thank you Kappy .
Beautiful old home. The piece of furniture that you referred to as beautiful is from the early 1990’s. I had the whole bedroom suite! I loved it! The main doorway and front porch is so pretty!
This house would have been beautiful back in its hey day.I am surprised it only had 2 bedrooms.
Beautiful home! Love the porch!
Show more door knobs, hardware, light fixtures! Sometimes, well, most of the time you miss the most original hardware because stupid people paint everything! This one is a beauty!
