I really appreciate that!! Hope you enjoy! Have videos from up north or down south in mainly the thirteen original colonies so lots of oldies! Thank you very much for watching and the kind words!! :)
The transoms over the doors , crown molding, some beautiful pieces in these places. It’s like stepping back in time … when I was younger I lived in Blair County here in Pennsylvania, in a huge Italianate … circa “ 1867 “ and built by Andrew Meier . The place was so beautiful to live in , it made me feel like I was living in luxury. It’s a shame that these places are in such bad condition, but they’re still “ gems “ of history. Thanks for the adventure, Kappy !
Three once very beautiful homes, now left to rot away. Such a shame. Imagine when these homes were in their prime - how cozy, warm, and comforting they would have been with thick stone walls, large fireplaces and built-in cabinets. The details all throughout, such as the paneled sides of the window sills and the details of the fireplace mantles, just add to the warm charm of these homes. Nothing like these being built today, where developers just slap up generic vinyl boxes jammed in next to each other, and then paint everything white, and charge a fortune for them. I really enjoy your work Cappy.
Most new construction reminds me of the personality of communist block housing in Eastern Europ, but that was built to last, here it won't. Even the more expensive new homes lack woodwork or any craftsmanship from what I've seen. So sad.
These houses put me inside them through your photography I really enjoyed your presentation Cappy. Thanks for taking me along as you find these places.
Piano looks to be circa 1860~s...take those genuine ivory keys!!!.................gotta love that GE 1950~s pink stove too! ...also judging by the width of the wook plank flooring..... this was after 1820~s...my estimate is .....built in 1830~s-1840~s
Oh my goodness!!! Thank you Kappy!!! 3 grand homes in different stages of ruin. Once the roof goes the rest of the house goes too😢 That first house was incredible and could be restored easier than the others. The upholstered walls and door were so much work!!! The turquoise room with the antiques was a real zinger. The organ and grand piano made me cry. In the house with the missing floor from under the stairs: what a mystery! So sorry for your loss of Chewie. Thank you for the pics! “Freed from his fetters and fastened to the skies” - we never get over such a loss, just grow around it.
This old house would not have been in such great shape for its age, if it wasn’t made of stone!!! Loved the antique wooden furniture & the piano & organ….sad that they weren’t taken care of 😞😰😢 Loved the thick, stone walls!!! It makes me sad to see that the antique’s in this house weren’t taken care of 😞😰😢 Thank you Kappy, for sharing this wonderful adventure with us…I loved it 👍🙏💕
marble near the fireplace is victorian. tile embedded in plaster on fireplace is also victorian. in the right hands this house could be a historical gem.
I hope the first house doesn’t end up like the last house.😢 That pump organ was gorgeous. I actually love the old weathered wall patina and crazed, crackled paint on the wood above the fireplace. Age has its own beauty. Thank you Kappy. 😊
If I had to guess, the first house was abandoned some time around the early 2000s. The Whitley Strieber books in the floor were from 1995-1996, Sugar Busters (at 6:35) came out in 1996 but that may be a later printing, and the fridge looks late 1990s/early 2000s. The elements have certainly done a lot of damage in 20-ish years but it's still structurally sound. The other two houses... I have nothing to really go on, but based on condition, they were most likely abandoned at least 30 years ago, probably much more. Wouldn't surprise me if it were the 1970s or earlier when those houses were last occupied. February 11, 2024 1:21 am
Got my coffee , all set!!oh I love that old secretary next to that old adding machine! Those huge fireplaces are cool- and those walls are indeed thick!! Beautiful old place!! Thanks for the adventure!!!
First house is the winner for me. Rough shape but the fireplaces and big rooms. Must have been amazing when built. Second and third places were so damaged I didn't get much of a feel from them. But I applaud your determination. Be careful out there Kappy, there is only one you. Thanks
I love this old house. Most of the damage seems to be cosmetic. There is no graffiti, no vandalism, just neglect. And I love houses with books. I spend more time reading than I do on RUclips. Looks beautiful in the snow!! Thank you Kappy!!
Oh…my…laaaaaawd! Kappy!!! This is gorgeous!! The tile on the fireplace, the desk and that typewriter! Stunning! I can’t tell you that this is my absolute favorite because you bring us so MANY favorites but this is in my top ten for sure. Thank you so much for all your hard work! You continue to make us all proud. As always…stay safe!😊
You are too kind!! Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind words!! Couldn’t show these places without yalls support!! I’m glad you enjoyed! Have some possibly even cooler ones on the way!! Thank you always! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 that's most likely the right age. Those were really popular back when ladies really dressed up. The full length made it easy to check the back and make sure everything was in place. Ladies would keep their jewelry in the drawers as well as grooming products. I don't remember it looking art deco so late 1890s to about 1920s would be a good guess. Most definitely more than 100 years.
The second & third house’s were made of wood, Jensen there lack of lasting!!! Plus, the carpentry of the 3rd house might not have been done properly!!! The oor & window casings were beautiful!!! Sooo very sad that that could not have been saved 😞😰😢 Thank you Kappy, for sharing these wonderful properties with us!!! I loved them🙏👍♥️
Wow. Just think, you will probably be the last to see that 2nd house. It's definitely a goner. The history will be gone soon too. The items left in the 1st house was awesome. The adding machine, furniture, the piano, all being forgotten. It's really sad to see them go. Another great video Mr Kappy! Thanks for taking me along! 😊
Kappy, you missed the beautiful padded window seat. I was trying to look around the corner of my screen to see it. Yes, I'm a little kooky when I catch sight of something wonderful! It's okay though......you are the very best. I never miss your videos. 😊
The princess bathtub made me jump to the edge of my seat! Id buy that right now. 😮😮 Such a shame people allow this to happen. If you cant afford to keep it up then sell it to someone who can. This crap should be illegal.
It took me so long to get through this video because I stopped every ten seconds to absorb just how picturesque these grand houses were. The first one really was stunning as you say. The pile of paranormal books in front of the fireplace was funny. I can see myself sitting there with a fire going, reading some of them. Love the big windows and the upstairs office with the old office equipment and kidney-shaped desk. The fireplaces here are some of my favorites you've ever found. Glad you didn't stay in the attic long, that air was not healthy for you to breathe. The last two were beautiful skeletons. Great video Kappy, made my day.
Again, we are so sorry for your loss of Chewie. We have had our great hounds over the years. Nothing quite like a good dog. Thanks for sharing .Take care!
Absolutely fascinating! I always wonder about the history that's been lost in the walls of these old places. The people and their stories. As always another top notch adventure! Thanks Kappy 🤠👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My grandparents had an old pump organ like this when I was growing up. We would play on it for hours when we would go visit. My aunt had it restored. I also have an old trunk like the one in the attic. It came from my grandparents also. It is a shame that people let this organ ruin. Kappy, I love how you appreciate all of these old homes that you video. In so many of these homes, I see things that I saw growing up in South Carolina. Your channel is my favorite. ❤️
Hey Kappy! That house may have been in rough shape, but it had good bones. Loved the deep window sills. Some treasures left behind too! Now the "haunted" house was a bit creepy. And in very bad shape. Spooky and probably is haunted. You seem to find all the good ones. Thanks for the explores. Stay safe! ✌️
Ist house is beautiful. Wow, good and solid. Thanks for not opening the fridge. Ugh! It's amazing that some of these old houses are good and some are in very bad shape. That 2nd house is very unsettling, won't last much longer. Same with the 3rd house. If only the walls could talk. Great explores Kappy, thanks.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Been in this work all my life. Most of the furniture is not original to the house although old. Originally this was a S tately home. We learn people build their dreams on Earth only to rot down. Life is temporary, It is better to build a mansion in heaven that will never rot down.
Thanks for letting us know the TV set, the filing cabinet, and the folding chairs are not original to the house. We never would have known without your help. As for the rest of your sermon, "The 700 Club" is over there.
Wow 3 great explores! Loved the first house gorgeous… second house was definitely creepy…3rd house was sad only 2 rooms assessable I bet it was beautiful!! Something must have knocked out a beam below the floor for it to collapse like that… the flooring seemed to be good so strange it fell…. So glad you didn’t try to follow what others did!! Thank you once again Kappy! Your videos never disappoint!! Stay safe out there!!
It's amazing that with the quality of construction and possibilities of these properties restored they aren't bought in a tax sale instead of just sitting and falling in, could be the area they are in.
I am always so amazed at how some houses look from the outside like they would be okay inside and when you go in they are just totally gone and then sometimes you find homes that looked horrible on the outside and the inside isn't that bad. It's almost like those surprise packages that you buy and you don't know what's onside. Sometimes you get something good and sometimes there's no telling what you're going to get! Thanks for maneuvering those old gems for us to see!
This was an amazing house ,so many rooms and unique in it's design ,was the second house on same property or separate ,it was great to see,was in rough shape ,wont be there much longer, the third one was a great one also,a little dangerous though but was good to see
Ain't nothing like an old stone house!! The organ and piano are wonderful relics. 🤩 What great photographic opportunities! So glad you could film and share!!! Even though the place was in pretty rough shape, it sure held some relics. Take care Kappy! My love to you and yours! My knee revision surgery is this week! Hopefully I will be up and running and we can explore together in the future before I get to old. Explore and stay curious while you can.😊😊😊
The first house is amazing as is. New roof , a little plumbing and Electric, a little cleanup and I would live there. But the road noise….it says so much. Reminds me of a few almost houses that have crossed my path over many years.
It is never too late if someone has enough money. My current house was once like all of them but someone saved it. Leaving the skylight open and not heating in winter that’s what you get. The entire first floor of my house was replaced. Looks like a new house from the basement. I prefer houses that have not had that trauma but it’s still here. You are a brave explorer.
Kappy, you commented on that old pump organ being beautiful. You are a beautiful person for finding and sharing these once glorious old homes with us. 🙋

What a jewel. Stone houses were usually built with smaller rooms, average ceilings and lots of fireplaces. This one looks more like late 1700s. Stone houses are really tough to heat. We have lots of them here in Pennsylvania. This is truly an interesting house. Thanks for the tour. ❤
Rough shape doesn’t even begin to describe these houses. All of them must have been beauties in their day. Nice work Kappy. Stay safe and well. Hope you and Ruby are well and doing great.👍🆒🏚️
Big old fireplace was originally for Cooking. The refrigerator Still has the energy sticker on it😮. Love the Pink Stove...guess Barbie must've lived here at one Time 😅
That Jasper Mansion - those massive fireplaces and all of the wonderful old furniture left to rot. This is one I wish I could have seen during its glory days. The second house had interesting interesting fireplace mantels and the third had great woodwork, but if I owned the property the last two houses stood on I would be tearing them down to avoid injuries to urban explorers.
Wow, three houses that are really on their way out. Too bad. You can tell they were all very nice at one time. The first house was the HOUSE OF SHELVES! You should have rescued that LIFE magazine that was in the one room! Great video!
The first was definitely the most interesting. I certainly wasn’t expecting a pink stove in the kitchen, and the tiles on the fireplace were very unusual. The furniture upstairs was very beautiful and looked very old.
That first structure was really something! I read they call those basement potties "Pittsburgh potties' and that was a popular thing a very long time ago in that area. All those books point to a literary soul (and we read them all!) but in the UFO room, those multiple covers of the same book suggests either an editor, publisher or author at work there. The first room certainly had the flavor of a workspace and would have been a lovely place to do mental tasks! Please, when you see those original door latches and handles, Kappy, could you gives us a still or in-depth look at such fixtures (especially those hand forged 'latch and lever' pieces!)? Image a door latch that lasts centuries, before the 'planned obsolescence' we're forced to suffer with today's society! That third house certainly suffered significant structural damage and I wonder if the installation of the plumbing was the first insult to weaken it. Certainly is curious how crippled it has become! TY for taking us along on your explorations. Really interesting (and sometimes ignites some warm memories!) Stay safe out there and God Bless!
Your channel has officially become my favorite exploring channel, and I’ve only been through 4 videos. Amazing how old these places are! Thanks 👍❤️

Cool bathroom, like the window ledge in there.
In my opinion. That house was built around 1790, judging by it's overall look and grandeur. The fireplaces are huge.

@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 Kappy, there are still some people that truly are kind and caring. You are one of those few, and Im honored to know you through your camera lens and your heart. You touch many lives and hearts through your videos that bring so many of us back to a much simpler calmer way of life.
@@blaze3884 wow you are seriously too nice!! I’m not sure I deserve that much praise but I’m glad if my videos have brought you some enjoyment! Thank you, i truly appreciate that! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 Yes, you deserve and have earned my words, you truly are a shining example of how a young man should be. Kind, caring, appreciative of our history and Im positive, an exceptionally hard worker. God bless Kappy, I look forward to going on many more adventures only seen through your eyes and heart.
@@blaze3884 Thank you so much🙏 have some cool ones on the way! Thanks for sticking around and exploring with me!!
Got a steamer trunk just like that it’s from 1907
Such a sad ending for an old family home. Heartbreaking! The old organ and the grand piano, duch s waste.😢
What a jewel. Stone houses were usually built with smaller rooms, average ceilings and lots of fireplaces. This one looks more like late 1700s. Stone houses are really tough to heat. We have lots of them here in Pennsylvania. This is truly an interesting house. Thanks for the tour. ❤
This one isn’t far from Pennsylvania! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
We really like when your adventures are in the snow ❄️. God's blanket for mother earth
Glad you enjoy! Have a few more with snow! Thanks for watching! :)
My boy is back! With some old 💩. Love it! ✌️
Some extremely beautiful fireplace tiles in the first house.
Wow when you walked in and up that organ made my jaw drop❤😊
Loved that 1st house. Would love to save all those books.
Rough shape doesn’t even begin to describe these houses. All of them must
have been beauties in their day. Nice work Kappy. Stay safe and well.
Hope you and Ruby are well and doing great.👍🆒🏚️
Thanks it’s just me now! Ruby will no longer be in any videos, sorry! Thank you for watching!
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 I’m so sorry to hear that Kappy. I didn’t know.
@@irenewatts2874 it’s okay! Times have been a bit tough lately but that’s life! Thank you for the kind words and concern! :)
Beautiful House❤
Big old fireplace was originally for Cooking. The refrigerator Still has the energy sticker on it😮. Love the Pink Stove...guess Barbie must've lived here at one Time 😅
Thankyou for showing us, Kappy.
Agreed! That first house was truly beautiful! So much history it lived through in its 200 some years! Thank you for watching!! :)
Awesome tour Kappy
Wow, three houses that are really on their way out. Too bad. You can tell they were all very nice at one time. The first house was the HOUSE OF SHELVES! You should have rescued that LIFE magazine that was in the one room! Great video!
These houses still somehow possess an air of dignity. Particularly the first I think. You can tell they once had more.
Thank you again, Kappy!!
Thank you for watching!! :)
Thank you for exploring😊
@@debradoodle as long as nice people like you are watching and leaving nice comments I will as long as I can! Thank you🙏
The first was definitely the most interesting. I certainly wasn’t expecting a pink stove in the kitchen, and the tiles on the fireplace were very unusual. The furniture upstairs was very beautiful and looked very old.
looked like delft tiles to me in the first house
The person who lived there loved to read and was a musician. Probably a genius.
Great find kappy, lots of history there, sad it was left to be abandoned, thanks for sharing 💯
Like those bog windowsills in the first house. You could set your candle holder or oil lamp on them.
Love the Staircase❤
What amazing fittings.. wood trim.. rim locks and even a huge hearth crane..!
What remains, tears tears. ❤
