  • This sad beautiful old farm house was built in the late 1800’s. The information I could find said it was constructed between 1870-1880. It would remain in the same family for over a century until the last owners passed away almost a decade ago. Then it went up for auction a year ago and was bought by developers. It still has some of the original antique furniture from when it was built. It’s been empty since the mid 2010’s, was able to find a newspaper from 2014. The final owners were an elderly couple, the man was a draftsman in the us army and the wife was a teacher. Unfortunately this houses days are numbered as a new housing development is being proposed in the spot and it will sadly most likely end up being torn down. Just being rezoned first. Glad to have documented this old home before it’s gone. One of the most incredible and beautiful old houses I’ve ever explored. Filled with original antiques. Just beautiful. Thanks for watching

What an incredible old farm house. And filled to the brim with the remnants of so many generations that called this their home. This time capsule so brings back memories of my youth. I’m 66 now but this is what happens as time marches on. Grew up in an older cape style home with our family of 8. As life moved on 1 by 1 Grandma, Auntie, Dad , all passed away and kids moved on with our lives it just left our beloved Momma behind. Things held together for a while but then Mom could no longer take care of her needs and moved to an assisted living facility. Slowly but surely the ravages of New England winters caught up with our old homestead. My brothers and I did what we could to salvage what we felt was important. Methodically room by room we gathered up as many remnants as we could. Though still left behind were so many items that we accumulate in life. We were able to sell the home and thankfully it was restored and sold to a young family who will now bring their own stories and memories to it. Thanks Kappy for recording the history of this beautiful home before sadly it’s erased for all time. Your passion and professionalism shows in all the places you visit. And your knowledge of the architecture for such a young man is exemplary. Hopefully some day you can find, buy and restore an older home of your dreams. Continued success with your channel and I look forward to each and every video you record. Though in closing I’ll say this one really struck a vein for me. God Bless and stay safe in your travels.

The kitchen/sun porch looks like it was a cheerful place at one time. The whole house is a testament to 3 centuries based on its belongings; the massive headboard to the flat screen TV, and every decade between those times. Pretty cool! Thx for this one!

The books are amazing, it looks like both the husband and wife were 'hands on' people. The oil lamps, pitchers & basins, and glassware are amazing! I don't know how long you were in that house, but I would have spent hours in there! How sad that the house is going to slowly decay, and take everything along with it. And all the antiques. WHY would anyone leave these abandoned homes, donate them to a church, your favorite charity, the museum or even to your ex wife's barber's cousin, just don't let them to rot. What a picturesque setting that house was located in. It also seemed like it was situated to allow a lot of natural light in. Those door knobs you pointed out I think were rubber doorknob covers. I have seen those before. Akin to steering wheel covers for cars. I can imagine what a pain it would have been to have lugged those heavy dressers up those stairs. I hope those antiques can be saved. Also looks like at some point the radiators were replaced with baseboard radiators. Definitely frees up space. Great video. Typical. People get old, go into homes and die, children or heirs would rather just pay taxes than collect or sell stuff or houses for emotional or time constraint reasons, becomes out of site / out of mind. Meanwhile, all someones life becomes is, is a disintegrating wasteland. ...I bet if people look hard enough, they can find homes in their own neighborhoods with this situation.

I wonder how long its been vacant? I see the living room 22:07 got the 70's remodel. 2015? It must've started falling apart before they got so old and passed. Beautiful bed and mirrors.

Before you even went upstairs the thought went through my head that there had to be a nice bedroom set up there , And I wasn’t disappointed that one was AWESOME there were plenty on nice pieces that SHOULD BE REMOVED b4 the entire places falls in on itself…. Looks ( from the books I saw ) someone may have been some sort of engineer , I saw several books on the subject …. May have been a collector of furniture too ,But they must have fallen on hard times seeing the buckets near the walls that had water… and could the back of the house fallen in while they were still there ? might they be in a nursing home or passed on ….. Good tour the house felt homie even with the clutter

After seeing a radio flashing in that manner and a clock ticking, the electricity is still on in this place

I'm assuming someone owns this house. Why would they let all this beautiful furniture, heirlooms and family photos go to rot. And the books. As a book collector, it breaks my heart.

Someone needs to save furniture and some of the woodwork. That hallway mirror should be saved for sure. Hope someone steps in and pulls it all out. Another thing that is strange, is that the clock was still flashing after 9 years. I was really surprised to see a flat screen tv in there. 🤔
