  • This incredible Historic house was built in 1842 for a newly married couple as a wedding gift. Pretty incredible gift back in the day from the brides family. It remained in same family for many generations and most of the antique furniture is original too when the house was built. The final owner was an elderly widow who was a retired doctor. Passed away in the early 2000’s with no remaining family living in state. Now the future of the house is uncertain as land developers have recently bought the land around and are clearing out land around. Thanks for watching

This home is just beautiful and built to last. The antiques in every room are as beautiful as the home. Though photographers have been in and set up the rooms, the sewing room was absolutely gorgeous. What made the sewing room even more remarkable was the little squirrel on the tree. It was like a moment in time! I absolutely loved this home. Thank you, Kappy ❤

That hoop skirt frame(crinoline?)! Those vintage cameras, the old bottles! (Boric acid! my Pop used that stuff and when I tried to buy it, the Chinese pharmacist acted like I was attempting to assemble a nuclear bomb! She kept saying "No! No! No!") and some of those old books with their leathery bindings and some of those titles! I could die happy lost in a museum such as that place! Those belongings alluded to so many and varied interests! Then that lovely shot you took of some of that vintage hardware and those Timbers!!!! Breaks my heart to think all that historically significance and stuff might be bulldozed or burned to make way for cookie cutter homes on postage stamp lots, to make someone more wealthy. This house reflects how multi-talented the generations were before us. Today, youth are told to be satisfied to get that degree (indoctrination to not think for yourself!) then watch Netflix or visit DisneyWorld with the rest of their time. The good, old days really were just that. They are only missed by those of us who knew them and the boundless interests in life we could immersed ourselves in.

This hourse is a veritable treasure, filled to the brim with artifacts and objects of days gone by. A testament to solid workmanship, as the roof is as tight as a drum. How I would love to work through that home. Whoever staged the little vigniettes, never heard the saying "Less is more". Ty Kappy. Lovely as always. Merry Christmas to you and all your subscribers. May the coming year be a better one.

Hey Kappy! I believe that room in the basement was a indoor spring house!!!!! They would have kept their milk and butter etc down there!!! Awesome house! So sad she didn’t have any family left…. Now the house and all that family history is going to rot….. the bottles in the medicine cabinet were super old!!! I would have spent the whole day looking through all the history! Great find Kappy Thanks 😊

He had me sewing when i was eight years old.om had fine furniture like this house did. The couch you showed in the beginning was like mom's. That and the piano and so many books , well, how wonderful to relive the things of childhood. Thank you , even the house itself reminds me of my husbands farmhome, 1880 s built. Lots of upkeep in them, but beautiful memories. Agaun ,thanks and best wishes to you.

Hello Kappy and all, this is certainly going to be interesting! Loved your comment in the description!
This place is beautiful! What a wedding gift for somebody! My great grandmother lived in the house her father gave to her upon her wedding until leaving for her final trip to town and the hospital. Her daughter, my beloved auntie, lived in the house from that time until the day of her death. She died in her kitchen, the day before Thanksgiving.
One thing about these folks, they weren't much on porch sitting! The front and back porches are so small!
The last occupant was Jewish, as evidenced by the menorah and the Star of David on the mantel in the first room you entered! Someone made crocheted blankets for the back of the chairs, too! I'm a big fan of old camera equipment, but oh, those old books!!!
Oooh, old embroidery patterns, too! I'd give a bunch to have a peek into that pamphlet!
That piece of furniture in the dining room is a pie safe, to keep the flies off prepared goods like pies and cakes. That's why it has a screened door!
Wow, water damage in the kitchen! What a mess! Those built in cabinets are very nice, though. Thanks for the shot of that great sink, Kappy!
What a great little office that is, so cozy! Of course, you have to use your imagination and look past all the junk...
The upstairs is rather more telling of the people who last lived here. Their different bedrooms were not unusual, but what is interesting is how jumbled her is, as if she used his bedroom as a catchall room after his passing.
Her bedroom was more neat and the third room was even more so, though the hand of photographers styling the whole place was evident everywhere.
You missed something really unique, though, Kappy! In the third upstairs room, to the left of the door was an old cage bustle, standing by the sewing machine. Haven't seen one of those before except in old books. Pretty nifty! I could have fun just exploring that room!
This is such an interesting place, almost feeling like the occupants will return in a moment. Some rooms are so perfect, but that kitchen...
All in all, this is a great house, with a feeling of friendliness and happiness still in it. It was a happy home and it shows in it's arrangement of rooms and furnishings. How sad that there's nobody to love it now. I do hope some person buys the salvage rights before it's too late.
Thanks so much, my friend, for this exploration! It's going on the Favorites list just for the antique furnishings! It was fun!
Much love to you and Ruby, too! Becca

Some of the rooms looked like they were untouched and left alone while there was a couple at least with some of the hallway upstairs looking as if someone was looking for something leaving it a mess afterwards ……can imagine the whole home was neat as a pin as doctors homes were always tidy and kept nice…..great video Kappy thank you

Outstanding! And kudos to the photographers who staged the rooms…it gives a real feeling for what the house was like back in the day. I find it very sad to see rooms just jumbled up with stuff. But this house! What an incredible wedding gift in any time period! This is a gem! Thanks Kappy❤️

I’m glad it was staged. Someone rummaged around to find some interesting things. We would’ve never seen them otherwise. Really didn’t see any worthy antiques there.

This was great. This place is still in pretty good shape and can be saved but probably wont though. The furniture in there is beautiful and the dishes are antiques as well. What a house. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day. Happy Holidays to you and yours

Wow what a great house. THAT house could be renovated! Few houses built now would even come close to how solid that place is. Original 6 over 6 windows, 1920's push button switches and light fixtures. (I wish you would have zoomed in on those) Hopefully someone buys it and it doesn't fall apart like most in it's situation. One of your best videos Kappy!
