Something I love about SketchUp is the community, is really inspiring to see videos like this one, well explain, good sound quality, 13 minutes of learning and not hearing the same think over and over. For me 3D Modeling is a lovely hobby, I don't know but maybe someday I'm going to have the opportunity to become a professional, and people like you are going to be the reason of that success, thank you bro!
Really glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
This is an extension I can see myself using, for all sorts of machine, and architectural drafting. Thanks Justin for taking the time to advertise this extension.
Thanks Jack! Glad you liked it!
Great video, Justin. Thanks for sharing with the community.
Excellent!! Many thanks for this!
I like the idea of this extension. I'm looking forward to trying it out in future woodworking drawings!
Great. I use this to smooth sharp edges in architectural renders. Buen tuto amigo !
thank you! great tutorial!
Great video Justin. I use this all the time. There is one thing to notice, if you use it then it is sometimes hard to change the object afterwards.
Any good architectural building should have its main corners and stuff rounded off on the corners. The sharp lines are a give away on a foto realistic rendering. Thanks again Justin!
Thanks Willem! Good to hear from you!
exactly the tool i was looking for, many thanks!
Awesome - glad it helped!
thank you for this tutorial 👍
Milllll Graciassssssss, desde España!!!!!
thanks justin again !
I always like everything you do
Thanks very much!
Thanks! That really helped!
Glad you liked it!
great Extension for wood working
Thanks Vince!
Thank Justin!
Thanks for this one 🙌🏻
No problem 👍
I was arcing for all my curves this helps
Cool - glad it helped!
Thank you ❤❤
Thx awsome vid lov all of themmmm
Glad you like them!
Thank you.
Great Video.. you help me so much.. Thank you.
Glad to help!
amazing
Very cool!!!!
Thanks very much!
Dude... you're amazing! thank you so soooo much!
Thanks for watching Jose!
Thanks for sharing, Justin. Nicely covered. I use this extension a lot but I still learnt a thing or two from your in-depth video. I have found that during the design phase, it is best to leave "rounding off" until the end because registration is difficult with a rounded shape.
You briefly touched on the eraser tool and changing its operation with the Shift and Control keys. I found that the eraser with the Shift key will hide a line but maintain independent adjacent planes. The eraser with the Control key also hides a line but merges adjacent planes as one plane. This is an important distinction when using the bucket tool.
Finally, when holding down both the Shift and the Control keys, selected lines become visible again. The eraser cannot be used to delete a plane. The select tool is needed to select the plane and the delete button will erase it. Maybe you know another way of erasing a plane?
Hi Jeff - I talk about this a little more in this video - ruclips.net/video/MRe0PADCFMk/видео.html - I'm not sure if there's another way to delete a plane other than selecting and deleting it or deleting a bounding edge. Thanks!
I dont have money to buy this , its for my school activities, do you have any suggestion to fillet the edges? for free?>
Would this extension work for rounding the corners of a rectangle to give a table curved corners? I'm guessing you'd have to round the corners when it's 2D before extruding it? Or is this better achieved through a native tool?
I recently downloaded the program and try to find the app shown in this video and when I looked it up in the add-on warehouse and it said that my version does not support that add-on. Is there another app that you can recommend?
Great video, how can I undo the round corner property
very usefull!
Thanks Juan!
thanks :)
Why is it that, every time I use the hand or orientation tool, my selection using Fredo6 gets reset?
It's cool to the moment you need to round a corner that's on the edge of an opening (like when you have a cube and do an rectangle hole in it and try to round those corners that's on the edge of the hole). Then it just closes the hole. Or I'm I doing something wrong?
Any way of getting uneven offsets? Ie. 60 degrees instead of 45 degrees every time?
thank you for all the videos.
can you write down the name of the extantion? could not find it
It's literally in the title of the video...
thanks for sharing! Can you you use this extension with the Sketchup online version? Also, how would I make an oval or half oval shape?
Nope - you can't use any extensions with the online version. For the oval shape, try this video - ruclips.net/video/FpguZY4OGLU/видео.html&lc=UgyrsMS3myw08VAc66h4AaABAg - Thanks!
I'm waiting for something to let us chamfer egdes of multiple selected groups at once. Unfortunately Fredo is not planning to incoroporate this into his plugin :( That would be a simple feature to speed up workflow very significantly.
hi! help me please with my round corner. No matter what, every object is invalid to the plugin. Even if I start a new file and creating a simple box. I recently downloaded the plugin, so I have an obviously new version installed. So what's wrong? thx fot the answer
hi, thanks for the video, but where can i download the extension ? any free website?
thanks
I don't get that tool bar. I can get to the tools in the tools menu, but no toolbar shows up. Am I missing something?
It says the free license expired last June 9, 2022. So it can never be downloaded again? :(((
hi sir, is that got other plug or technique that can do bevel or round corner?
I am new to sketchup, not planning to pay for the license for now~
It does not appear that this will work with my sketchup 2017. Am I doing something wrong? I did find on that was 17 bucks.
Thanks for the great tutorials! Can I use round corner extension to bevel a round table top? Or I can only make it by using follow me commend?
Please, i can't find Extension Warehouse from Windows. can you solve this problem? I will wait for the answer, thanks.
Thanks for these great tutorials. Does "Round Corners" work with Sketch-Up Make?
Hi Andy - it should work both in SketchUp Make and SketchUp Pro - thanks!
Thanks Justin. It's working just fine right now.
Can you help me how to download extension hardware and plugins,,I am using sketchup 2017
I give you the direct links that you have to sign in. After that you can download the extensions. When you download extension open sketchup and go to window and then extension manager. Click install extension when you install RoundCorner it says you also have to install fredo6 libfredo from the link click that and also install that extension with the same way. Close sketchup and open it again so you can use roundcorner then. I hope I could explain. Here is the links

Welcome 😊
I installed ROUND CORNER and LiFredo6 but I could not see it on the TOOL BAR. I also checked on VIEW it’s not there either. Is there a way to round the corners of a GROUPED model just like how you did using the round corner plugin? TY
Can you go into your extension manager and make sure it's actually enabled? Sometimes you'll install an extension in SketchUp, but it won't get enabled by default, so it won't show up. Also, as far as I know, round corner won't work on a group in SketchUp - it only works on raw geometry. Thanks!
I have unable to download the LIBFREDO from the link you posted is there another way to get this
You can try to download it from SketchUcation - sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=LibFredo6
helpful
Glad you think so!
I hope someone can answer this question for me. I used round corner and it worked great, did everything I wanted too. After making other adjustments to the model and saving it, I closed the program for the day. The next day it was decided that the edges don't need to be rounded. I cannot find a way to "undo" the rounded edges. Does anyone have any suggestions (The undo button is no-longer an option). Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to recover that geometry. Maybe you could check and see if an AutoSave was created?
thank you bro
is you from germany
Great tutorial. Is it possible to apply two different effects to the same corner ? I am trying to make a square table top with rounded corners AND a bevel all around.
i guess Im quite randomly asking but do anybody know a good place to watch new series online?
@Tripp Lorenzo Flixportal :)
@Maurice Casen thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) Appreciate it!!
@Tripp Lorenzo happy to help :D
hello sir please help me i am unable to sharp corner
how install extensions in crack version sketchup?
Hi, I cant find a way to make a round corner to the top edge of a 20mm thick disk? can you help? thank you.
Does this extension not work for you?
if it is already download sir. it is automatically in sketchup or i need more settings??
you have to: window- extention manager- install extention and find the .rbz file of the extention.
Whhhhhat’s up Justin. I’m very familiar with sketchup for sketch designing and love the way it feels. However, I am thinking about undertaking the daunting task of learning 3ds max with corona or vray to model for photorealistic rendering. I’d love to stay in sketchup though and just focus on learning vray for sketchup. Could you advise if you know of any modelling limitations in sketchup or rendering limitations with vray in sketchup? For instance, I have a tutorial for 3ds which suggests rounding every visible corner in your model ie wall/ceiling junctions and the timber pieces in a window. The effect work really well to add a layer of realism. Just not sure whether this level of rounding off would kill sketchup. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a bug splat. I’d like to keep it that way.
I don't think you'd have to round every edge, just ones that are close to your camera
@@Thesketchupessentials wise words! In essence… pick your battles and model smart.
Hi. How do I apply Roundcorner onto Flowfied object?
Honestly I've never tried it, so I don't know. I have a feeling it's not going to work as well because the edges aren't as well defined, but I don't know that for sure...
u need to log in before you download and it asks for card number i thought its free?
Hi Justin
How do you make round corners of edges of opposite direction faces that are perpendicular to two adjacent and perpendicular edges of a face?
(Imagine a square with two faces perpendicular to two adjacent edges in different directions)
I don't understand what you're trying to do...
@@Thesketchupessentials Would you Justin show me a way to send you a picture of my design?
I want to apply thickness and round corner on an idea ... but hard to explain ...! Thanks
How to get back sharpen edges
after this, how do I apply properly materials on vray? thanks
Maybe start here - ruclips.net/video/J_icq27Plb0/видео.html
Hi again...I'm trying to create a hexagon with 30° bevels along all the six sides, so that the pieces attached to those sides would splay outward at 30°. I thought this extension might allow me to do this, but it doesn't seem to like hexagons, and also doesn't seem to have the necessary adjustments to make this happen. Do you know of a way I might do this? Do you perhaps have a video of something like this already?
Thanks!
Maybe I should create two 2-dimensional hexagons of different diameters and manually attach them together?
So, I accomplished this doing my two hexagon method. I created the main 10" radius incircle hexagon on the origin so that a couple sides were perpendicular to one of the lateral axes. Then I moved it up 1/2" on the vertical. Then I drew a 30° guide line off one of the perpendicular-to-axis edges. Then I made another incircle hexagon from the origin to meet up with the point where the 30° guide line crossed its radius. Then I connected the upper and lower corners manually...there may be a simpler way, but this did work, and didn't take all that long.
This is an excellent tool. The problem is, I've been trying to use it on a somewhat more advanced structure than just a simple cube. I'm having difficulty getting it to do what I want without serious overlap issues. I know how to change the rounding size, unfortunately too small of a size and it's not the effect I want.
Ideally I would like to put say, 0.66m for the top of the structure, and 0.46m for the bottom. Here's the problem; even if I keep them both the same @ 0.66m, the overlap is kinda devastating, leaving large holes in the structure and weird haywire random lines... I almost can get it perfect, but then when I try to delete extra lines, more holes begin to appear.
My question is, is there a way to select multiple edges simultaneously, yet set different round-radius's for each of them? I've thought of simply trying to extrude the shape a different way, but I'm fairly sure that will be even more difficult (many specific angles and curves)...
Thanks Justin, your tutorials have been of massive help!
[P.S.] _I've been having a lot of fun with the Extrude Tools you described; Perhaps, problem solved!_
Try scaling your model up by 4-5x, then seeing if you can create the rounding you want, then scaling it back down. Sometimes SketchUp has trouble with very small geometry (you start seeing some weird instabilities). There's no way that I'm aware of to both select a lot of edges at once while also applying a different radius to each. Thanks
Well I've noticed there's some sort of A/B (set of parameters) option in the toolbar, though I haven't seen any other function than simply keeping two sets of parameters saved...
I am Autocad user and the navigation in Autocad is different then Sketchup ( Pressing mouse wheel for panning and shift+pressing mouse wheel for orbit). While in Sketchup the navigation is opposite to Autocad ( Pressing mouse wheel for orbit and pressing shift + mouse wheel for pan) Is there any way to swipe these function in SketchUp and navigate like AutoCAD? Because i find autocad navigation more convenient
I don't think so? I haven't really gone looking to try, as I find SketchUp more intuitive. You could look in the custom shortcut settings, but I don't recall anything about changing basic navigation settings...
Hello, I can't find the extension. Even if i click on you links all i get is a blank website. Is this normal? or did i do something wrong. (When i search in the extension warehouse in sketchup for "round corners" i cant find anything as well ...)
They've made some changes to the extension warehouse lately, so some of these old links are broken - try this one - sketchucation.com/plugin/1173-roundcorner
round corner extension is not working on my sketchuo 2019. anyone know why?
Did you download LibFredo6?
The link to LIBFREDO DOWNLOAD is broken. It just goes to a blank page.
Try it now - SketchUp moved some stuff around in the warehouse...
Is it possible to make rounded corners without the extension?
Sure - just use the follow me tool to remove material, but this is much faster
is this available for the web version?
No - extensions don't work in the web version
@TheSketchUpEssentials The extension is working for me but whenever I tried using the obit tool, it exited me out of the rounding extension tool. Am I doing something wrong?
Are you using a 3 button mouse and orbiting with the middle mouse button?
@@Thesketchupessentials oh that might be the issue, I’m using the touchpad on my laptop.

Thanks very much!
Do you have to pay to get this extension?
Yes, you have to pay a license fee to be able to use it after you download it, so don't bother.
bro i do not have round corner tool , how can i get it , i searched in extension ware house but it is showing 7$ , its not free......
how can i get it , and not only that some of tools are not there ;( , can you suggest what can i do .......
can you solve it broh
Are you in the SketchUcation plugin store?
@@Thesketchupessentials yah i got it
this is exactly what i need. its ashamed tremble doesn't care about the product and is basically letting it rot... the link doesn't work.
SketchUp made some changes to the extension warehouse which broke all my old links - I've updated the link to a SketchUcation link which still works. Thanks for the heads up!
@@Thesketchupessentials thanks. I found it and messed around with it a little and it's a powerful tool but wasn't able to do my task. It does not like faceted objects with both concave and convex edges
I think I might be able to get the plug-in subdivide to work for me.
The little 2d character they put in the start of the project looks just like the guy that made this video lol
Lol - well since I made that model myself, it should :p
Humm..... You didn't say that one has to pay to be a member on LibFredo site to download his plugins. :/
That's because you don't have to pay - also, there's no "LibFredo" site - I'm assuming you mean SketchUcation. The first thing on the register page says "Want to register for a free account?"
Yep. Sorry. I didn't mean LibFredo site, but as you said, SketchUcation.
But I must say that I have completely missed the "free account" thing. I will have to look into that tomorrow.
Have the best day, and thank you for answering. 😊
Heads up, it's not free anymore. The only way to download it is from another website, and you have to pay to be a member on this website.
This is...partially accurate. Fredo has transitioned his extensions over to paid, but they're a one time fee that you can pay through a SketchUcation membership. You do not need the paid SketchUcation membership to buy Fredo's tools.
Works on simple boxes. Doesn't work on complex shapes.
Depends on your definition of complex

It's not a free extension. You have to pay a license fee to be able to use it. Are there any actual free extensions one can download to round corners with?
It was a free extension in 2017 when I made the video. I'm not aware of equivalents at this time
This link is dead you have to goto sketchucation.com/plugin/1173-roundcorner the create an account to download. They are not in the Sketchup Extension Warehouse.
Yeah...SketchUp made some extension warehouse changes in the last couple months and Fredo's stuff is no longer in there

Yes it is
sorry
round corner is not free!!!
It was when the video came out. FredoCorner isn't free. Thought Roundcorner still was
too bad it's not free anymore
You said it was free. It wanted to charge me $75 on his website just for the library.
SketchUcation has a free option - you need to look at the signup page more closely
So confused. I am needing a beveled edge, but all the visuals are technically chamfers that are being erroneously described as bevels. At least in aerospace engineering, the two words denote different things. Take a board, for example. A bevel is one slope that connects the top plane of the board to the bottom plane of the board at any angle other than 90 degrees. A chamfer does not go directly from the top surface to the bottom surface; rather, a chamfer goes from the top surface to a point on the side or end and then drops to the bottom at 90 degrees. I do understand many people consider a chamfer and a bevel the same thing.
This is a paid plugin now, and doesn't work worth a crap except on the most simple geometry. Throws TONS of errors and breaks the model.
He did change to paid for some of his extensions. As to it not working, I've not had that issue at all - it's always worked fine for me
Glad it is all well with yours. This plugin will not even develop simple geometry for me, which fries my ass after paying for it. It won't even join one radiused edge to another... radiuses that IT created. Then it destroys faces and shoots extraneous lines out into the universe. I wish there were better tools with SketchUp.
Useless for Sketch up 7.
Justin Ju$tin, newbies wanna donate $ without hassle, particularly after your instruction works (nearly) first time. Exuberance. A $-sign-button alongside the Subscribe-button should activate a PayPal window asking Amount and Password. More for you to enable more for us. Fredo6 too, please tell him. I appreciate this - that said, RUclips sets the way that a RUclips channel looks - I don't have a lot of control on that...
You should be identifying that this is basically a FREE TRIAL that soon expires so you have to buy a licence - Therefore it is NOT FREE as you state in your video.
I'm curious as to how you think I was supposed to incorporate that development as it happened 5 years AFTER this video was originally published? At the time of publish, this extension was free
