I can't believe that you propose that the Boox Air Note 3 C and the reMarkable 2 are eReaders. They can do it, but that's not their mission in life. If you actually studied the market, you likely would have put up the Boox Go 10.3 instead of the Air Note 3 C. Also, I'm not sure why you ignored the Boox Page and/or the Boox Go 7 Color -- two real eReaders. I'm not a Boox fanboy, but they have a better spread of products than you covered. Enjoy your clicks.
Eh, I'm seriously looking at the Note Air 3C as an e-reader. Yes, it's overkill, but as I don't see very well, the bigger screen is a major plus. The Go 10.3 is basically a Remarkable 2 copycat, which I have to agree doesn't belong on an e-reader list, though at least the Go 10.3 does have Google Play store so you can download your favorite reading apps, and the color screen would make it much more useful for students reading and annotating text books. But no front light on both models, to me (and I am unanimous in this 😉) should disqualify them. I also have to agree that not having either the Page or the Go 7 on a tier-list of e-readers is a bit head-scratching.
@@BadgersInTheAttic "The Go 10.3 is basically a Remarkable 2 copycat" if you don't look any deeper than the simplest description of the hardware. The use cases are different, primarily in the way that the manufacturer lets you work. (This is why I'll soon be selling my SuperNote Nomad). I prefer a wider range of apps -- not so I can choke the tablet, but because the wider selection increases the likelihood of me finding a few apps that fit my needs the best. "Distraction Free" is just sales-speak to explain why a company decided what your distractions are, and made their choices of the software you'll have available. Now that I've settled on the Go 10.3 I'm happy with how I have arranged the home screen (a bragging point for Supernote is that they don't have a home screen) to be simple but functional, and have also applied that same approach to a Nova Air 2 which I use as a wingman to the Go 10.3 -- hoping for a Go 7.8. One good point you make is the monochrome screens don't always do a particularly good job with color continuous tone.
@Gallery90 You make a good point. Having access to all the apps in the Play store is not an inconsequential difference. The lack of front light or expandable memory would be a deal-breaker for me, personally, but that's why they make different models for different people's use-cases.
Wait... Paperwhite is God tier, but Paperwhite Kids is only good? 🤔 They're exactly the same e-reader. The only difference is that the Kids comes with a case (a bonus, and yes, plain black is an option), a 2 year no-questions-asked warranty (another bonus), 1 year of Amazon Kids (may or may not be a bonus) and no ads, all for the same price as the no-ads adult version. As I recall, it does force you to set up a kids account, but you don't have to use it. The only thing you miss out on is the opportunity to save 20 bucks by letting them push ads at you. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of good reasons not to go with an Amazon altogether, but the Paperwhite Kids is a fantastic deal for some very good hardware.
Good list. :) I only really have two disagreements: 1) I wouldn't put Oasis in the Great tier, only because it looks to be going away. The International version is still available on the Amazon US site, but it's *deeply* discounted. For < $20 more, you can get a Paperwhite that has twice the capacity and a much longer life ahead of it. 2) In regards to the Amazon Paperwhite for Kids, I don't think it being for kids really diminishes its value. It's $20 more than a regular Paperwhite, but it's also ad-free. Hell, you can adjust the age range on the device and treat it as a normal Paperwhite. And the covers do come off, after all. :)
Im a little confused, the kobo libra colour and the libra 2 are basically the same thing, but one is in color and only in the "great" tier, while the one without colour is in god. If they're the same, wouldnt the color feature be better?
What is this tier for? Is it for reading books? Because then, what is doing the very first one in GOD TIER??? That one does NOT excel in reading!!!..... It's more for comics, taking notes and stuff.....
Way too biased with way too many Amazon & Kobo and little in the way of Bigme,Supernote or many new and popular like the Boox Go 10.3,Boox Go color 7" the B&W versions of the Book Note Air 3. And instead rate a slew of slight variations on the same Amazon and Kobo models. Sorry not very encompassing and lacking in a definitive inclusive list that is more complete and balanced.
5:12 the Front Light? IT seems you Not understamd the light on eBook reader and smartphone/tablets. The Kobo (Not cobo ! ) clara use a Light that shines to the display and normal smartphones/tablets shine to the user. That is a clear Difference and ist bester for the eyes. All These eBook reader use this Version of the Light and that should Not make a difference

This guy doesn't know the first thing about E-Readers.
The kids kindle is not limiting to adults btw. You can exit kid mode and basically have a paperwhite with warranty and a case
Sorry, man, but if this is a 'best ereader tier list', Remarkable does not even belong there, imagine in the God tier.
He’s just putting the expensive stuff on god tier. Rest is random 😂

Dont let bro cook again 💀 think he made this list based on their product description lol

I can't find anything for $20. Maybe I'm not looking correctly. Can you send me a couple of links?
When he said paperwhite kids is limiting for adults you know he has no idea what he is talking about
The oasis hasn’t been in production for years bruh

The color has a screen door effect and darker screen.

No kobo Clara bw or Clara color?
Timestamps would be great for future reviews sir.
Kobo Libra 2 vs Kindle PW4. Which one do you recomend?
Next time onky rate things you actually tried and have knowledge of
Obvious this guy doesn’t read books.

Android devices have terrible battery life. They're only good for a specific niche of people.
