    I don't think there is any correlation between the line-of-sight issue and the Privacy issue. Regardless of where somebody's home is they shouldn't expect privacy from above. Any kind of aircraft including satellites can go buy at any time and drones are just the cheapest aerial option.

    Paul is making a compelling argument in his story for the lawyers of the celebrity to argue in court. My opinion is that the pilot-in-command should have made the decision NOT to violate FAA regulations regarding line-of-sight. The aggregator company and the client can also be held liable but it is the PIC who will face personal consequences such as fines and suspension, if not revocation, of their certification. The issue of invasion of privacy is often ubiquitous however Paul has outlined the reasons why the celebrity can seek injunction against the parties involved in the drone flight in question

    Simple plan, do not study junk data, define your skills, improve your knowledge, and make your skills better than your competitor.
    Always strive to better yourself, not just 'good enough'....Your job will disappear if you stagnate.
    Select your career path, and excel in that career, alway work to better your skills and knowledge.

    I could jump in my private plane and fly over his property all day long just circling. Nothing illegal about that.

    • @souocara38able
      @souocara38able 4 года назад

      If you did that you might be stalking or peeping which would still be illegal even if you do it from the air. However if you just fly by once or twice and take pictures as you pass along the way, then I agree you're not breaking any laws

    I've been wondering that as well. Do they put you out on the line. Give you this mission that involves flying over people and cars. They have no risk. Seems fishy

    I only been signed up with Dronebase for a few months, my impression so far is very lack luster in assignments and more of trying to get people to invest more money on instructions. Nothing wrong with training, but the main purpose of Dronebase was/is to get licensed pilots jobs.

    Is the sight of the drone's lights the same as having line of sight?

    • @souocara38able
      @souocara38able 4 года назад

      Yes and no. If you can see the lights on the Drone you can see the Drone however you are also supposed to know the orientation of the Drone. You need to know which way it's pointed so that if a manned aircraft came in to your operating area you would know which way to turn to yield, which you are required to do.

    • @unlistedyoutubevideo7436
      @unlistedyoutubevideo7436 4 года назад +1

      @@souocara38able So, if we had different color lights on the front then that might suffice? Is the orientation of the drone as displayed on what I will refer to as the "Return to home breadcrumb trail" enough?

    I'm absolutely 100% against DroneBase! I used to fly for them back in 2016/2017 and part of 2018. I grew as a Remote Pilot realizing that DroneBase is giving jobs to Pilots that have absolutely 0 experience (as I used to be one of those pilots). Not only that but they are releasing jobs that require waivers and DB doesn't vet the pilots that are accepting these jobs to make sure they are qualified and legal to fly the specific job. I also realized that if I continue to depend on DB for jobs that I'll never acquire my own clients. Best decision I ever made was quit flying DB jobs, as I now have acquired multiple clients that I have a great relationship with, which is what it's all about! I'm totally against drone pilot networks as I feel they are only hurting the Industry in numerous ways! The FAA needs to do some kind of audit on DB and find out how many jobs have been completed ILLEGALLY!! I bet the FAA wouldn't be to happy with the outcome of what they find out after auditing DB or any other DSP's. Thanks for sharing this Drone U!

    It's so sad to see that they underbid the jobs, I remember when this happened to the audio recording business... Cheap access came along to every bedroom and then suddenly everyone was a recording studio charged cheap and put out sub-par product. Hopefully people in the industry share the ballpark pricing or at least talk more about it so people starting out don't undercut everyone and put a bad taste in potential clients mouths.

    Great points Paul, I am getting pretty sick of these companies charging a few hundred bucks for “survey grade” mapping. Droners is the same way, and they take advantage of local pilots who just want a job. How can anyone make a living off of $300 for mapping and $150 for both aerial photo and an edited video. I surely hope things get fleshed out soon and allow for the pilots willing to take the time and effort to deliver a great and accurate product.

    Dronebase came to Miami and had no idea that Miami and most of south Florida requires pilots to get a film permit. The film permit takes time to get and costs $100 in the city of Miami. If you’re outside of the city you have to pay the permit fee plus pay a police officer for 3 hours to be there while you fly. You think those $80 flights Dronebase is doing are following all of these rules and regulations?

    • @erictate2095
      @erictate2095 4 года назад

      Adnan Velic $80, that’s pretty high for dronebase which is pretty sad. Ok Baltimore they are only offering about $50 for photos. I don’t see how they value anyone’s work by only paying this amount. Only a matter of time until this company goes under as well, the quality of their deliverables are sub standard. Signed up initially with them to get some jobs, took one and haven’t taken any since, certainly not worth the time.

    • @adnan_velic
      @adnan_velic 4 года назад +1

      Eric Tate $50 is terrible! If drone base continues to operate in this way in my area I will be reaching out to the FAA and the city. If I’m forced by the city to buy 2 million dollars in insurance and go through the permitting process why shouldn’t Dronebase? These guys are really clueless in what they are doing. Their only mission is to get any part 107 pilot in the area to do the work for nothing. They make great money on their end I know this for a FACT.

    FAA rules do not make it a privacy violation.
    Anybody outside, falls under public rules.
    Regardless of how the images were obtained, if anybody is outside, there is no expectation of privacy, no matter where you are located.
