You didn't answer the question in the title. What do you advise for someone who already has a job and wants to start a drone business. You give good advise but have a hard time staying on point.

One thing I know is you guys have a lot of knowledge when it comes to this industry. In saying that stop talking about nothing, if you say I am going to tell you step by step how you built a business with a phantom then do that instead of going out of your way to pat yourself on the back and not give the information you said you were giving. Come on guys, why should I keep listening if this is what to expect?

Any time that a self-proclaimed successful person devotes most of his time to "help others" be successful in his field (for a fee, of course), it's usually a scam.

Obviously the subject has generated interest but I do not think you gave much to support the statement. How about the specifics (licenses, insurance requirements, SCC filings, local business licenses, accounting requirements, etc). These are the things that people need to know. What do I need and how do I avoid getting my rear end in a spot that I do not want to be in.... A follow up video with this information would be good to have.....

Great Topic! I just passed my 107 a month ago and have my temporary certificate. I work full time in IT, am a former professional advertising photographer and plan on retiring in three years. Been flying and aerial imaging for a year and been through five UAV's already and presently fly a P4P, Mavic, and Typhoon H. Lately, for obvious reasons of image quality my "focus" is with the P4P and then the Mavic, as needed. I want to start up now, part-time, then move to full time in a few years. I already have the experience of studio set and location shooting from the terrestrial POV. Any tips for transitioning and finding gigs would be much appreciated! Thanks and keep up the great offerings!

BTW no one with a real job works 9 to 5, unless you work at as a bank teller.

a great resource for business mentoring... and it's free... is your local SCORE chapter. it's a group of Senior Counsel Of Retired Executives. We have used in the past and have helped tremendously.

Great video, very inspirational. I would like to be running my own drone business (delivery specific) within the next few years. I am at the very beginning stages of the process, but determined. You talked about finding business mentors in your video, do you have any recommendations?

Guys, there is no content in these podcasts just rambling. there is approximately 10% of the time spent on answering the question.

Paul really ought to be replaced by someone who doesn't come off as a con artist... really unfortunate because he's got good knowledge on drones but gives poor advice and has little insight on anything outside his own bubble. that would be fine if he stuck to the topics, but he doesn't.
